Influenced course of history, inspired artists and thinkers and enriched lives. They are our natural life support system. Our Mission EUROPARC works for our natural and cultural heritage, to improve and champion the policy and practice of Protected Area management, in order to deliver sustainable nature, valued by people.

Nature knows no boundaries...so EUROPARC is founded on the principle that the future protection and conservation of nature is achieved through INTERNATIONAL CO-OPERATION. International cooperation works best through PERSONAL CONTACT. That through personal contact comes MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING, SHARED EXPERIENCES, KNOWLEDGE AND INNOVATION. This delivers better support and management of protected areas which ensures the FUTURE PROTECTION AND CONSERVATION OF NATURE... because Nature knows no boundaries...

Sometime you need to change your perspective

EUROPARC : Links with N2000 Natura 2000 sites cover 37% of the overall EUROPARC members surface. 14% of the total terrestrial Natura 2000 site areas are managed by EUROPARC members 56%, in terms of number (319), and 59%, in terms of surface (3.911.026 ha), of Natura 2000 sites are managed by EUROPARC agency or authority members Where EUROPARC members are not directly responsible for the Natura 2000 site management, in many cases they are indirectly involved in their management, e.g. working at strategic and political level for the Natura 2000 Network, or coordinating the development of management plans Links with Emerald : members and links in many countries, making full use of EUROPARC network and programmes.

Positive effect on sustainable tourism development in 54% of the PAs Frontier on the map, cooperation in mind

It s all a bit too much for park managers...

Online Learning being developed with Pro Parks (RO) Communications manual and Toolkit

We have a twenty-first century responsibility of great importance. To meet the challenges, promote new creative approaches and thinking and make new partnerships. Our EMERALD sites are a significant component It is to proclaim anew the meaning and value of Protected Areas, of biodiversity, conservation, and recreation; to expand the learning opportunities and share that knowledge broadly; and to encourage People to experience and CONNECT WITH these special Places.
