The innovation for better hygiene. Contactless opening and closing. The new EF-3 LOOK&WAVE cabin type
Type EF-3 LOOK&WAVE
Type EF-3 LOOK&WAVE
Perfect hygiene and above all: a good feeling! LOOK&WAVE is the intelligent innovation for everyone who has the best hygiene and well-being of their guests at heart. With this entirely new and revolutionary system, cubicle doors are opened and closed entirely without contact thanks to modern LED and sensor technology - simply by a wave of the hand and without having to touch the door handle. Behind the latest Schäfer Trennwandsysteme development are scientific studies carried out by the renowned Hohenstein Institute in Bönnigheim. The hygiene experts were able to prove that by touching objects in sanitary areas, dangerous germs could be transmitted to and by human hands. This is especially true for the door handles of toilet cubicles. Contactless taps, toilet flushes, soap and towel dispensers have increasingly been used for several years. The desired effect of these innovations has thus far been counteracted by the requirement of touching cubicle door handles. Schäfer Trennwandsysteme has now managed to close the last link in the chain: The contactless cubicle door ensures complete hygiene in the smallest room - and an all-round good feeling for your visitors. TÜV tested safety stands for highest quality. 5
Type EF-3 LOOK&WAVE (1) (2) Open Sesame! Touching cubicle handles is now a thing of the past. With LOOK&WAVE comes the first hands free operation of the cubicle: all functions of the toilet door can be controlled both from inside and outside by a simple wave of the hand in front of an LED sensor area - like something in a story from the 1001 nights. An innovative concept, which will delight the hygiene conscious user. (1) Upon entering the washroom, large-scale LED displays light up, facilitating the finding of a free cubicle. This assures optimum flow of visitors, especially in high traffic facilities. A real plus for user comfort. To open the door, a simple wave of the hand in front of the selected sensor is sufficient. (2) The cubicle can then be entered, without having had to touch anything. 6
(3) (4) (5) (3) No contact is required to lock the door either. A simple wave of the hand in front of the sensor area in the cubicle closes the door. As soon as the door is locked, the LED indicator inside and outside turns red. This gives the user safety in the cubicle and visibly signals to people outside that the cubicle is in use. (5) LOOK&WAVE is the first technology which allows for entirely contactless operation of a toilet cubicle. In conjunction with other sensor systems e.g. for flushing of toilets, activation of faucets or soap dispensers, a holistic hygiene concept can be implemented in the sanitary sector. Giving the user a pleasant feeling of cleanliness. (4) To unlock the door another wave of the hand in front of the sensors is all that is required. The lock is released and the door opens automatically. 7

In case of a door blockade, the door remains in this position without any force. After removal of the blockade, the door will follow its original direction. So there are no safety risks for the user and damage from vandalism is almost impossible. (2+3) Master key for lockout/decommissioning and emergency opening A contactless master key, available to the operator of the toilet facility, allows two different functions: 1. Emergency door unlocking from the outside 2. Locking of the cubicle from the outside to e.g. temporarily disable use. (4) Automatic unlocking upon power failure In case of power failure all doors will unlock automatically. The LED indicator turns off and the user can easily and without resistance open the door by hand to leave the cubicle. (4) 8
(5) Cleaning indicator Even a contactless cubicle requires cleaning. The innovative LED technology subtly alerts cleaning staff by a blue dot in the LED display. After a desired number of use cycles, as set by the operator (several cycles can be selected and later adjusted), this blue dot will appear in the centre of the LED-display. The cubicle can still be used and the light will gradually change colour from green to red. The blue dot is permanently lit. (6+7) Master key for confirmation of completed cleaning After cleaning, staff can confirm the action by using the contactless master key. The blue dot will then disappear. (8) Easy access to control and drive components If service is required, all control and drive components are easily accessible for our service technicians, so that any necessary repairs can be made quickly and smoothly during operation.
