Just a Little Information About Your Stay at Camp Dorset... lodging... Lions Camp Dorset has 13 cottages and up to 10 efficiencies available for guests. Cottages and efficiencies are fully equipped however, guests must bring their own bedding, towels, toiletries, and food for the week. See the list for other personal items that you should bring. Cottages ($400.00/week) Based on up to 6 person occupancy. Guest fees will apply over 6 people. Cottages are equipped with: 3 bedrooms (2 with a double bed each; 1 with 2 twin beds/bunk beds) Living room Dining table 3 or 4 piece bathroom Kitchen with full size refrigerator, stove with oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, pots & pans, dishes and cutlery 3 of the cottages are wheelchair friendly Cottages have a picnic table and lawn or Muskoka chairs. Most cottages are ground level. Some have stairs and/or ramps to deck level. All cottages have an outdoor fire pit; wood is supplied free of charge. Efficiency Units ($250.00/week) Best suited to a small family unit or 2 people (unrelated). The efficiency units are similar to a motel/studio type accommodation (with kitchen). They contain: 3 piece bathroom A kitchenette with refrigerator, stove (with oven), microwave, toaster, coffee pot, pots & pans, dishes and cutlery Living room area (with futon) Dining table Most have double beds but there are some with twin beds Parking outside the door Patio doors to green space with picnic tables, fire pits and lawn chairs These units are designed with couples in mind. Trailer and Camping ($150.00/week) These sites all have electrical, and water hook-ups. The campground has a central sewage dump access. Each site has a picnic table and fire pit. Fire wood is provided for free. The campground area also has its own washrooms and shower facilities. Guest fees in cottages apply if 6 person occupancy is exceeded. Efficiency guest fees apply if more than 2 unrelated persons. Guests must register and are charged $20.00/person/per day to a maximum of $100.00/person/per week. Guest fees for children between 3 and 12 are $10.00/child/per day to a maximum of $50.00/child/per week. Guest children under the age of 3 stay free. *** Guests of Trailer Park clients are charged $5.00/person/day or $25.00/week. NOTE: As of January 1, 2015 Pets are not allowed at Lions Camp Dorset. Medical Centre Bright and airy facility using Fresenius dialysis machines We dialyze on Monday, Wednesday and Friday; 2 shifts per day starting at 6 am. 10 weeks of the summer are assigned to one or more hospital hemodialysis units in the province 2 additional weeks are open to Hemodialysis, PD, and Transplant patients from any unit in Ontario Each week, the clinic is staffed by two Camp Dorset dialysis nurses, as well as staff from visiting units. Portable DVD players are available for patient use while dialyzing at no charge. There is an extensive library of DVDs to select from. Personal medications be sure to have all necessary prescriptions filled Bedding & Linens although we provide pillows and comforters, you may want to bring your favourite pillow. Remember to brings sheets and towels. Food (Dorset does have a general store which closes by 8 pm in the summer) Plastic garbage bags Toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, shampoo etc Insect repellent, wood matches Your own fishing gear (bait is available in Dorset) BBQ, extra lawn chairs, portable DVD player (there are no TVs or phones in guest accommodations) Drinking water (if you so choose): the camp is on a well system which is tested daily. The water is not only safe to drink but also tastes very good. Flashlight: Although one is provided in cottages and efficiencies, it is a good idea to have an extra. Alarm clock: Although one is provided in cottages and efficiencies, bring one that you are confident about setting if you need to be up for a specific time. What time do we check in and out? Directions to Lions Camp Dorset GPS: 1087 Camp Dorset Road Algonquin Highlands, Ontario Lions Camp Dorset is located approx. 40 kilometres southeast of Huntsville. Camp Dorset Road (into the Camp) is accessed from Kawagama Lake Road which intersects with Hwy #35( which runs through the town of Dorset). The camp is located 7.8 kilometres from the intersection of Hwy #35 and Kawagama Lake Road. *** Kawagama Lake Road has a couple of intersections; on the way to the camp always keep right.
