SITUATION A short distance to the south of Newquay on the breathtaking north Cornish coastline, and sit near the end of West Pentire headland, which separates the beautiful sandy beaches of Crantock and Porth/Polly Joke. The southern edge of the beach is lined by sand dunes and Marram grass, creating a nature haven for the local wildlife and a great place for the children to play. The Atlantic rollers make it an ideal surfer s beach and it is patrolled by lifeguards during the peak season. Crantock s beach is popular for swimming, fishing, snorkelling, surfing, wind surfing and canoeing. Immediately to the west is the secret beach at Porth Joke sometimes referred to as Polly Joke. A footpath close to the property leads down to this beautiful and unspoilt National Trust-owned cove. Crantock and Porth (Polly) Joke beaches were voted Britain s Best Beaches in 2014 by the Sunday Times Travel Section.
