PRIME MINISTER C ANBERRA WCEC Secretariat The Chinese General Chamber of Commerce (HK) The CGCC Building 24-25 Connaught Road, Central HONG KONG Dear Secretariat I am delighted to support the submission by Business Events Sydney, in conjunction with the Australia-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry, to host the 2013 World Chinese Entrepreneurs Conference in Sydney. The Chinese community has deep roots in Australia and is an important part of Australian society. Chinese migrants have made incalculable contributions to our economic and cultural enrichment, and our continuing bilateral relationship with China is of great importance to both our futures. The Australian Government supports continued and strong social and business ties between our countries and between Chinese and Australian businesses, wherever they are located. The city of Sydney, capital of the state of New South Wales, provides an excellent destination for conferences. Sydney is a sophisticated city with a range of arts, dining, shopping, cultural and sports precincts. It is home to over four million people and has a proven record of accomplishment in hosting large international meetings with efficiency and professionalism. The city offers many first class facilities. I commend Sydney to you as an ideal location for the 2013 World Chinese Entrepreneurs Conference. Yours sincerely The Honourable Kevin Rudd MP Prime Minister of Australia

30 March 2010 WCEC Secretariat The Chinese General Chamber of Commerce (HK) The CGCC Building 24-25 Connaught Rd, Central Hong Kong Dear Sir / Madam, I understand that you are currently considering Sydney to host the World Chinese Entrepreneurs Conference (WCEC) in 2013. Qantas supports Sydney s bid to host this event and to demonstrate this, I have outlined below the level of support we would be pleased to provide, should Sydney be successful. Domestic Delegate Support Qantas is pleased to offer you a dedicated webpage for your conference. The webpage offers 24 hour online access for you and your delegates offering competitive airfares (internet fares), flight schedules and information on your event. Conference organisers who have a website can link to the Qantas website, making it possible for individual delegates to book their own travel and receive confirmation simply and easily. Conference organisers also have the opportunity to receive a pre & post travel report by contacting Qantas Group Travel. Qantas will provide one complimentary domestic airfare for every fifty airfares sold to assist with keynote speaker travel (Conditions Apply). International Delegates Qantas Airways will provide registered delegates access to specially negotiated discounted business and economy class airfares for travel to Australia To further assist the selection process I have set out below relevant information regarding Qantas Airlines. Internationally, Qantas operates nearly 900 flights a week, offering services to 114 international destinations (including code share services) in 42 countries. Within Australia the airline operates around 5,000 domestic flights a week, serving 59 city and regional destinations across the country. For more information visit qantas.com Qantas is a member of the airline alliance oneworld. oneworld comprises eleven of the world's leading airlines - Qantas, American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Iberia, LAN, Japan Airlines, Malev Hungarian Airlines, Mexicana and Royal Jordanian - and provides services to over 700 destinations in more than 140 countries. Qantas is committed to actively managing our operations and growth in an environmentally sustainable manner. We are pleased to offer you the opportunity to join us in reducing the impact of carbon emissions on the environment. From now on, you can choose to fly carbon neutral by offsetting your own share of flight emissions with just a small contribution. Customers can offset their flight emissions by going to www.qantas.com/flycarbonneutral and entering their flight details. Qantas looks forward to the opportunity of providing travel assistance to your delegates should the conference be held in Sydney. Yours sincerely, Sasha Sherman MANAGER TOURISM DEVELOPMENT
