Saturday, April 5, Cherye & Steve Weintraub led 8 Miatas and 1 OTM (A Corvette) through the Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge. A drive through the 7 mile Black Point Drive, put us up close and personal with the refuge and wildlife. As we continued, Brevard County met with Volusia County and Don Yoho and Bill Grieco shared history of the old communities before the Space Center bought the land. On to Oak Hill and to Goodrich s Seafood & Oyster House. Lunch was served riverside, and the spring weather was perfect. Afterwards, those who wished, had a leisurely walk through Seminole Rest National Park. Thanks to all who attended. SCMC LINDA YOUNG ANNUAL PICNIC was held Sunday, April 13, at Ft. Christmas Park, and was a huge success. With 33 members in attendance, each bringing a dish to share (yummmmm), and Don Yoho and Bill Grieco at the grill, not to mention the perfect spring weather, it was a day of great food, friendship, laughter, and a fun-filled horseshoe tournament, which Tony Spinella and Bill Grieco now have bragging rights (until next year). Linda Young was SCMC s founding mother, and the Annual Picnic was one of her favorite SCMC events. After her passing, the Annual Picnic was named in her honor. A special thanks to Pam & Tony Spinella & Patsy Daniels for your donations, and to Linda & Bill Grieco for organizing the Mazda Party Favor Bags.
