COMRADES WALES V IRELAND RUGBY & CHOIR TOUR DUBLIN AND ATHENRY FEB 6th 9th 2014 A chance to combine Music and Rugby on this 4 day tour to Ireland to include a concert in Athenry itself immortalised in the beautiful song The Fields of Athenry by Pete St. John. As guests of the Athenry Tourist Board, the concert on February 7th is sure to be a memorable occasion. Day 1 [Thursday Feb 6th]. Depart from selected pick up points for Coach and Ferry to Dublin. *Option to fly also available. On arrival in Dublin, we stay at the excellent 4* Crown Plaza Northwood on a bed and breakfast basis. Rest of day and evening at leisure. Day 2: [Friday Feb 7th]. After breakfast there is free time to explore Dublin. After lunch coaches will depart for the 2 hour journey to Athenry. On arrival, we have a rehearsal in preparation for the concert which starts at 7pm. Post concert buffet and afterglow followed by return journey to Dublin. Day 3: [Saturday Feb 8th]. Match Day! Coaches available for transport both to and from the Wales v Ireland 6 Nations game. [ticket included]. Day 4: [Sunday Feb 9th]. After breakfast we prepare for the homeward journey via Coach and Ferry back to selected drop off points. Tour Price 479 per person in twin/double room. Choir OR Comrades Tour to Riga & Tallinn 2014 5 day tour March 13th This above 5 day break in the beautiful Cities of Riga and Tallinn offers a wonderful touring and choral experience. Melody Music has excellent contacts in both locations to ensure superb concerts. Day 1: Thursday Early morning direct flight from selected airports to Riga. On arrival you are taken to the Hotel Garden Palace in the city centre for 2 nights on a bed and breakfast basis. Included City guided tour. Late afternoon and evening at leisure in Riga. Day 2: Friday Day at leisure until the choir go to the concert venue for the first concert. Concert starts at 7pm [1 hour duration]. Post concert return by coach to the hotel. Day 3: Saturday. After breakfast, we have a leisurely transfer to the beautiful city of Tallinn arriving circa 12 noon and staying at the excellent 4*Baltic Hotel Vanu. Afternoon and evening at leisure. Day 4: Sunday After breakfast, we depart for the last concert in the spectacular Tallinn Cathedral at noon. Post concert free time to spend in this wonderful City. Day 5: Monday Morning transfer by coach to Riga Airport for the return flight to the UK. Tour ends. Option to extend tour is 66 per person per day. Tour Price: 489 in twin/double. WORLD WAR 1 COMMEMORATIVE TOUR TO ARRAS AUGUST 1st 2014 Day 1: Friday August 1st Travel by luxury Coach from designated pick up points via the Eurotunnel to our destination in France Arras. We stay at the central Mercure Hotel on and bed and breakfast basis. Late afternoon and evening at leisure. Day 2: Saturday August 2nd A touring day visiting some of the most important locations of World War 1, including the Faubourg-d Amiens Cemetery in Arras and the Menin Gate Ypres Belgium [47 miles from Arras]. The choir will perform briefly before being present for the Last Post. After this historic and moving ceremony, we return to our hotel. Evening at leisure. Day 3: Sunday August 3rd A free day to explore the area with coaching available. Early evening concert in Arras Cathedral ending at approximately 7.30pm. Post concert return to hotel with rest of evening at leisure. Day 4: Monday August 4th After breakfast our group will have free time and will participate in one of the planned Memorial events during the morning. This tour is open to choristers, partners, friends and anyone wishing to be part of this memorable tour to remember and honour those who gave so much between 1914-1918. LJUBLJANA/VIENNA/KRAKOW Welsh Association 11 day European Tour 2014 [August 19 th th ] After the successful tour to Russia by the Welsh Association of Male Choirs in 2012, we are delighted to have been asked again to arrange their 2014 tour which is open to all choristers, friends and family whose choirs are members of the Welsh Association of choirs. A fantastic way to experience the splendour of these three beautiful locations with a musical experience second to none. HIGHLIGHTS OF RIO, BUENOS AIRES AND PATAGONIA This will be our second exciting Comrades choir tour visiting some of the most spectacular locations on earth departing March 14th 2015. The tour includes the stunning Iguazu Falls, the tropical splendour of Rio, the sophistication and culture of Buenos Aires, the wilderness of Tierra del Fuego and Patagonia, and the breathtaking Perito Moreno Glacier. Draft itinerary: Day 1: Departure for International Flight to Rio de Janeiro. Day 2/3/4: Arrival in Rio on day 2 and transfer to our centrally located 3*on a bed and breakfast basis where we will stay for the next 3 nights. Tour highlights include:- City Guided Tour, visit to see statue of Christ the Redeemer, and evening concert in Rio city centre. Day 5/6: Today we take the short flight from Rio to Iguazu. While there we have included a visit to the spectacular Iguazu Falls. Day 7/8/9: After breakfast on day 7 we take the short flight to Buenos Aires where we stay for 3 nights in our centrally located hotel. Highlights included during our time in BA Tango Show, Concert at the Town Hall and City guided tour. Day 10/11/12 On day 10 we take a morning short flight to Puerto Madryn situated in the North East of the Chubut Province Patagonia where we will spend the next 3 nights. While there we have included visits to the Chubut Valley, Trelew and Gaiman and our third concert [on day 12]. Day 13/14: Morning short flight to El Calafate declared National Capital of Glaciers. While at this beautiful location we have an included tour to the world famous Pirito Moreno Glacier. Day 15: Return flight to UK via Buenos Aires Day 16: Arrive UK. Tour ends. GALA EVENT SEPTEMBER 2015 LA SCALA MILAN Following on from our Gala concert series which has already included concerts at such venues as Carnegie Hall, the Usher Hall, Sydney Opera House, St. David's Hall etc, in 2015 we are arranging our first Gala event at the world famous Opera House in Milan La Scala. The tour will be of a 6 day duration and is open to choirs, individual choristers friends and family. As well as one world renowned soloist the concert will feature one other surprise guest. The Massed Male Choir will perform from the standard repertoire. If you would like to be part of the Massed Male Choir and take part in this fantastic event, please fill in the enclosed registration of interest form and we will forward a booking form and tour itinerary to you. This event is open to Choirs, choristers, partners and friends. A chance to perform in one of the most famous venues in the world of music. The main package will include: Return International Flights 5 nights accommodation in Milan [minimum 3*] on a bed and breakfast basis. Airport transfers in Italy Coach transfer to and from La Scala. Wales Festival of Remembrance NOVEMBER 1ST 2014 Melody Music is delighted to be producing this event once again in November 2014 at St. David's Hall, Cardiff. Choirs [Male/Female/Mixed/Youth] interested in taking part in this Gala event should register their interest with Melody Music prior to December 10th 2013. Individual choristers are also welcome to join as part of the Massed Choir. The concert will start at 7pm with the rehearsal taking place from 2pm on the same day. Lions Male Choir 2017 New Zealand This will be the fifth Lions Choir tour arranged by Melody Music. The tour will be of an 18 day duration and the tour price, as in the past MM Lions tours, will be less than any other operator offering the same standard of tour. Although it is four years away, it's never too early to start planning your rugby tour of a lifetime combined with a great choral experience. Melody Music was delighted to bring together the official Lions Choir for 2013. and will be doing the same for 2017. To qualify for our priority booking period when the Melody Music Choir and supporter tour goes on sale, please register now with a fully refundable 100 deposit.
