May 15, 2018 Assembly of First Nations 39th Annual General Assembly July 24-26, 2018 Vancouver, British Columbia The Assembly of First Nations (AFN) (AGA) will take place on July 24-26, 2018 at the Vancouver Convention Centre located at 1055 Canada Place, Vancouver, British Columbia, V6C 0C3. EARLY HOTEL BOOKING AND PRE-REGISTRATION BONUS All Assembly delegates who book at one of the host hotels prior to the cut-off date and participate in pre-registration on Monday July 23, 2018 will be entered into a draw for a One Year Air Canada Domestic Maple Leaf Lounge Membership along with other great prizes. REGISTRATION Where does your registration fee go? Chiefs from across the country generally come together twice a year to set strategic direction based on community needs and priorities. The Chiefs Assemblies provide the venue for First Nation leaders to direct the work of the Assembly of First Nations, the National Chief and national executive through resolution. It is just one way First Nation leaders bring forward the concerns and priorities of First Nation members. Registration fees help to offset the direct costs of organizing Chiefs Assemblies, including facility rentals, audio/visual equipment, interpretation services, webcasting, registration services, facilitators, meeting kits, translation, signage, catering, and drum groups. Registration Process Photo identification will be requested at registration for Chiefs and Proxies. All participants and groups are encouraged to preregister and pre-pay. There will be separate line-ups at the event for those who pre-register and pre-pay in advance of the Assembly. Register and pay ONLINE at. You will receive a confirmation email. SOCIAL AND CULTURAL EVENTS The British Columbia Assembly of First Nations (BCAFN) is proud to be hosting the 39th AFN AGA in Vancouver, BC, the traditional territory of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tseil-waututh First Nations. The BC AFN is planning a series of exciting social and cultural events for the AGA that will showcase local First Nations art, music, food, fashion, and culture. A snapshot of the activities includes a Welcome Reception in a spectacular venue in the heart of Downtown Vancouver, an off-site Reception at a prime entertainment destination and a Gala Dinner evening filled with fabulous food, music, entertainment and a fashion show featuring Indigenous designers! The trade show is an excellent opportunity to facilitate networking among First Nations, organizations, businesses and government.
