Bylaw No. 2423, 2014 Schedule 1 Page 3 REGIONAL DISTRICT OF CENTRAL KOOTENAY BYLAW NO. 2423 A Bylaw to implement a Municipal Ticketing System with the Regional District of Central Kootenay. WHEREAS Section 264 of the Community Charter, Part 8, Division 3, authorizes the Board to: 1. designate those bylaws which may be enforced by means of a form of ticket prescribed by regulation under Section 273; 2. designate bylaw enforcement officers for the purpose of enforcing bylaws by means of prescribed form of ticket; and 3. designate an offence against a bylaw by means of a word or expression on a ticket. NOW THEREFORE the Board of the Regional District of Central Kootenay, in open meeting assembled, enacts as follows: 1. Title This bylaw may be cited as Regional District of Central Kootenay Municipal Ticketing Information Bylaw No. 2423, 2014. 2. Application 2.1 The bylaws listed in Column 1 of Schedule 1 to this Bylaw may be enforced by means of a ticket in the form prescribed for the purpose as described in Section 264 of the Community Charter. 2.2 The persons appointed to the job positions or titles listed in Column 2 of Schedule 1 to this Bylaw are designated as bylaw enforcement officers pursuant to Section 264 of the Community Charter for the purpose of enforcing the bylaws listed in Column 1 of Schedule 1. In addition employees or agents of any party with whom the Regional District contracts for bylaw enforcement services are designated as bylaw enforcement officers pursuant to section 264(1)(b) of the Community Charter for the purposes of enforcing the bylaws listed in Column 1 of Schedule 1.

Bylaw No. 2423, 2014 Schedule 1 Page 4 2.3 The words or expression set forth in Column 1 of Schedules 2 to 19 to this Bylaw designate the offence committed under the bylaw section number appearing in Column 2 opposite the respective words or expressions. 2.4 The amount appearing in Column 3 of Schedules 2 to 19 to this Bylaw are fines set pursuant to Section 265 (1) of the Community Charter for the corresponding offences designated in Column 1. 2.5 Pursuant to Section 265 (2) of the Community Charter, if a fine amount established by this bylaw is not paid on or before the 30th day from the date on which the notice is served, the fine amount shall be increased by fifty percent. 3. Repeal Regional District of Central Kootenay Municipal Ticket Information Bylaw No. 2058, 2009 and Regional District of Central Kootenay Municipal Ticket Information Bylaw No. 2398, 2014 and amendments thereto are hereby repealed. 4. Severability If any portion of this bylaw is for any reason held to be invalid by the decision of any court of competent jurisdiction, that portion may be severed from the bylaw and such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of the bylaw.
