Just keep adding to the pile as you think of new items. A special thank you to Tom and Kathy Kotheimer for being such great reporters for this newsletter!! The January campout was held at Lake City RV Resort in Lake City, FL, January 13-15. Really "early birds" were Jack & Catherine Webb arriving on Sunday, beating Rich Gavin to the campground as he arrived on Monday. The majority of campers arrived on Thursday: Bob & Sarah Edmondson, Bruce & Janet Duvall, Tressa & Don Dishman, George & Lorretta Redderoth, Jack & Pat Dean, Sue & John Johnson, Ken & Kath Cody, Kathy & Paul Newton, Rich and Pam Frederick and Kathy & Tom Kotheimer. Friday brought the arrival of visitors, Barbara and Duke Denson. George & Becky Clark had planned to attend; however, George's mother became ill and was hospitalized. Also, Digna and Ray Rivera were planning to join us; however, Digna was hospitalized with a serious lung infection and treated with IV antibiotics. We are keeping all of them in our prayers. Thursday afternoon: Kathy and Paul as well as Janet and Bruce invited everyone to a "tour of RV homes". We investigated all of the nooks and crannies, and had great fun. The beautiful weather allowed us to sit outside and visit with one another. That night, several couples went out for dinner at Cedar River Seafood while others went to the Marion Street Bistro in downtown Lake City. After dinner, several couples went to the club house to play cards. Friday was another Chamber of Commerce day, perfect for visiting with each other. That afternoon brought the arrival of Barbara & Duke. Unfortunately (or fortunately) they mentioned that they were having some air conditioning and mechanical problems with their RV. As you can imagine, our guys in the know made a beeline to their site and diagnosed the problems. The next day everything seemed to be working well thanks to our technical geniuses. George and Loretta were kind enough to teach several of us how to play Texas Canasta later that day. Paul and Jack worked on a puzzle that Paul brought and then continued with puzzles in the club house which kept many people busy for much of the weekend. Pat and Kathy N. were amused observers. That evening, we all played Sevens in the club house and enjoyed snacks. Pam reminded everyone that preparation for our Saturday night soup would begin at 3:30, so please bring your vegetables to the club house. In addition, she announced that a $50 memorial contribution in Al Richardson's name was sent to Boggy Creek. Della Solomon will be notified with well wishes from Sunset Ramblers. Saturday morning brought everyone outside again for more visiting. Some occupied their time with card games, more puzzles and shopping in Lake

Page 2 City. Kathy K helped Pat with her crocheting that she is just learning to do. That evening, we enjoyed soup and sandwiches, a delicious cheese ball with crackers and desserts. Many thanks go to Rich Gavin for his supervision of our soup supper. Ken and Kath came to dinner decked out in their New England Patriot shirts which proved to be Ken's lucky shirt as he won the 50/50 drawing. We had a rousing game of "I Need It" before ending the evening. Sunday morning everyone met to say good bye and tell each other what a great time they had. Rich Gavin would be leaving the next day. Chapter Meeting Information We did not have a meeting, but secretary Pam, did let us know the donation in Al s memory and a note to Della were being sent. Please remember those who weren t with us recently due to illness or traveling. Also please remember to bring canned goods to each campout for our ongoing food bank donation. Please let them know if you are or are not coming to the campout. Communication is important. Campgrounds ask questions, people get worried when you don t come at your normal time. Their email addresses and telephone numbers are on the front page. Thanks for your cooperation in letting them know your plans. Campouts are held Friday-Sunday with early birds on Thursday or earlier if desired.
