EAN 21 st Annual Conference Practical Information Zagreb International Airport to Zagreb city and hotels From airport to city There are two ways of getting from Zagreb International airport to the city centre by shuttle bus or taxi. The journey takes about 20-30min depending on traffic. Taxi the cost of a taxi ride into town is approx 220kn ( 26). The national currency of Croatia is the KUNA Shuttle Bus There is a regular shuttle bus right outside the airport terminal which will take you to the main bus station, where you can either walk or take a taxi from there to you hotel. At time of writing a single ticket costs 30kn and can be bought from the bus driver. From bus station to hotel The shuttle bus ends it journey at the main bus station, where you can get a taxi from outside the station to your hotel. If you don t have heavy luggage and would like to stretch your legs after a long flight, it is a 20-30 minutes leisurely walk from the station to your hotel. Directions For Hotel Dubrovnik Exit the bus station and turn left along Držićeva. Pass under a railway bridge to the traffic lights. Cross over and turn left along Branimirova. You will pass, on your right, the side streets: Kružićeva, Kraljice Jelene; Erdödyeva; Domagojeva; Trpimirova. The next street is Draškovićeva walk up this street, passing Šenoina, Hatzova, Boškovićeva; Dordićeva; all on your left. On your way you will pass the Sheraton Hotel on your right. After Dordićeva, the next street on your left is Jurisićeva you will see on your right a big whitish building with a big water fountain outside (hopefully the fountain is working when you arrive!) Walk up Jurisićeva, passing Palmotićeva and Petrinjska on your left. If you do not want your journey to take longer than half an hour, restrain yourself from popping into some of the lovely shops on Jurisićeva! The Hotel Dubrovnik is at the end of Jurisićeva in Gajeva street, opposite the main square Trg bana Jelačića where you will spot the statue of a general on horseback. For Hotel Astoria Follow the directions for Hotel Dubrovnik but carry on after Draškovićeva passing one more street: Palmotićeva. The next street is Petrinjska where the Hotel Astoria is situated, on the right. For Hotel Palace Follow the directions for Hotel Dubrovnik but carry on after Draškovićeva passing two more streets: Palmotićeva and Petrinjska. You then come to a park on your right and the railway station on your left. This is Tomislavov Trg, with another statue of a general on horseback! Pass the statue and turn right up Trg kralja Tomislava. The Hotel Palace is on your right, after passing Trenkova Street.
Conference Hotels to Conference Venues at University of Zagreb University of Zagreb Faculty of Civil Engineering The first day of the EAN conference on Wednesday 27 th June, will take place at the University of Zagreb s Faculty of Civil Engineering. It is near the Mimara Museum, about 15-20 minutes walk from the hotels. The full address is: Fra Andrije Kačića-Miošića 26 Directions: Please follow the directions given on the street maps below. University of Zagreb Borongay Campus The second and third days of the conference on Thursday 28 th and Friday 29 th will take place at the University s Borongay Campus, about 15 minutes drive from the city centre. We have arranged for buses to take you there. Buses will leave the hotels for the Campus at 08:30 sharp. Information for transportation from hotel to conference venue will be given out on at registration on Wednesday. On the day itself a student ambassador will come to your hotel and take you to the meeting point for the buses.
Directions for Faculty of Civil Engineering The first day of the conference will take place at the FCE. Address: Fra Andrije Kačića-Miošića 26 From Hotel Dubrovnik Exit the hotel and turn left along Ljudevita Gaja. Turn on your first right, Nikole Tesle and walk up until you get to the Trg maršala Tita. Walk by University of Zagreb building (on your right side), cross the street, walk by Croatian National Theater building (big yellow building in the middle of the square), and turn right in Vjekoslava Klaića street. Pass by Andrije Medulića, cross the street and turn left on Fra Andrije Kačića Miošića, where on your right side, on house number 26, you will find Faculty of Civil Engineering.
From Hotel Astoria On the hotel exit turn right and walk to the Baruna Franje Trenka street. Turn left and carry on passing on your left Trg Kralja Tomislava, Ljudevita Gaja, Trg Kralja Petra Svačića, Ivana Gundulića, Trg Marka Marulića and Savska cesta. Street you re walking on will change name from Baruna Franje Trenka to Jurja Žerjavića and at last after you pass by Savska cesta it will change name to Izidora Kršnjavog. On your right you will see Westin Hotel, on your left Mimara Museum. Cross over to the side of Museum, keep up walking on Izidora Kršnjavog, and turn on your first right, to Fra Andrije Kačića Miošića, where on your left side, on house number 26, you will find Faculty of Civil Engineering.
From Hotel Palace On the hotel exit turn left and walk to the Andrije Hebranga street. Turn left and carry on passing on your left Ljudevita Gaja, Petra Preradovića, Ivana Gundulića, Trg Maršala Tita, Trg Marka Marulića and Savska cesta. Street you re walking on will change name from Andrije Hebranga to Trg maršala Tita and at last after you pass by Savska cesta it will change name to Vjekoslava Klaića. On your left you will see Mimara Museum. Keep up walking on Vjekoslava Klaića, and turn on your first left to Fra Andrije Kačića Miošića. There on your right side, on house number 26, you will find Faculty of Civil Engineering.
