Read the biographies of the Ecuadorian Composers and then answer the questions (10 points) Enrique Espin Yepez He was born in Quito in the San Roque neighborhood on November 9, 1926 and died in Mexico on May 21, 1997. He is the son of Manuel María Espín and Mrs. Delia Yépez. He is one of the Ecuadorian musicians of greater academic formation, that began studying piano and soon happened to the violin. In the 40's, the Polish-Mexican violinist Henryk Szeryng (one of the best violinists in the world) went to Quito to invite him to study at UNAM where he was a teacher; in 1944 he traveled to Mexico. He returned to Ecuador in 1947 and was appointed professor of violin at the Conservatory and developed a great artistic activity with the "Quito Quartet". He was also the National Director of Music Education, where he managed to incorporate music as a compulsory subject in schools and colleges. was also founder of the National Symphony Orchestra. In 1952 he met Dr. Velasco Ibarra who was astonished to see that the author of the PASIONAL pasillo is very young (25 years); offers him a scholarship to be
perfected in Bonn Germany, which is carried out: later in the fifth Velasquismo he is named Consul of Ecuador in Mexico. Abel Romeo Castillo Abel Romeo Castillo Castillo (Guayaquil, January 22, 1904 - Guayaquil, November 11, 1996) was an Ecuadorian writer and historian. He was the son of José Abel Castillo Albornoz, former owner of Diario El Telégrafo and of Betsabé Castillo Martiz, his cousin sister. They were his brothers: Maria Piedad Castle of Levi, Celeste Graciela Castillo. He studied at San Luis Gonzaga and Cristobal Colón in the city of Guayaquil, before graduating as a bachelor at Vicente Rocafuerte School. He finished his university studies in the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the Central University of Madrid, being titled like Doctor in Historical Sciences the 6 of November of 1931 He returned to Guayaquil in 1933 to take care of the subdivision of Diario El Telégrafo. He was appointed professor of the school Vicente Rocafuerte in 1934. He traveled to Chile, where he wrote ROMANCE DE MI DESTINO, popular song. In 1945 he was appointed Founding Member and President of the House of Ecuadorian Culture was professor. He married in 1946 with Giannina Echeverría Espinoza. In 1947 he founded the School of Journalism of which he was its first director. In 1970 he was vice-director of the Civic Board of Guayaquil and the Historical Archive of Guayas. In 1974 he was director of the Municipal Library of Guayaquil until 1976. He belonged to the Academies of Language and History of Ecuador, as well as other foreign cities He died in 1996 in his department of the Plaza del Centenario, on November 11, 1996, being buried in the General Cemetery of Guayaquil the following day
