Schumacher - your partner for a smart cut! Did you already know that a clean cut increases your harvest yields? Why is that possible? Cutting systems are prone to significant wear and therefore have to be checked frequently. If you postpone the replacement of parts for too long, it can cost you time and money caused by the time needed for repairs on the fields or less acres harvested. Even a slower driving speed of the combine by only 0.3 km/h for an average of 1.000 acres (400 hectares) performance can cause losses of thousands of dollars. From 2010 on, we offer the latest cutting technology with Schumacher Easy Cut II products. In this brochure you can read how to replace parts, upgrade your existing Schumacher system or change over to the new Easy Cut II cutting system. 4 THE ORIGINL

THE ORIGINL Easy Cut II 3 different versions. Your harvesting success begins with a smart cut. The standard version includes all established components for a good cut. You will benefit from the technical innovations offered by Easy Cut II. The roller guides can be mounted subsequently very easily without much time and effort. ll Schumacher products can be mounted with standard tools. 6

Cutting system Easy Cut II R1 top guiding rollers (every 2 feet) The top guiding roller. For a straight knife movement. The advantage of a straight knife movement is an extended lifetime of knife and guards. We recommend using the top guiding rollers in combination with wear plates for all established cutting units and combine types. R2 R1 top and bottom guiding rollers (alternating every foot) Twice the roll. For wide cutter bars. The additional advantage of the bottom guiding roller means less friction on the knife back and therefore less wear. We recommend using the bottom guiding roller for cutting widths starting at a minimum of 20 feet (6 metres). It is not recommended for all types of cutting units, please ask us if the premium version is suitable for your combine! 7

The gap becomes too wide and the knife has too much room for movement.! Mounting of a 14 mm double guard on a dimension of 12 mm: The guard will be squeezed. The gap becomes too tight and the knife cannot move properly anymore. 15

Guards should be checked regularly for wear. new guard has a gap of 3.8-4.2 mm. new guard, gap 3.8 4.2 mm Replace now! wear of the gap > 5.4 mm cutting gap of more than 5.4 mm causes floating of the knife. The rounded cutting edges cannot hold and cut the crops properly anymore. They will get pulled into the cutting gap. Further checking for wear during the change of guards.! When changing the guards, simply check the wear plates as well. If the edges of the plates also show wear, the knife is unstable and so the new guards will be worn out quickly again. 16

If you own a Schumacher cutting system already, you can simply upgrade it with roller guides and gain the advantage of a great knife guidance. This protects sections and guards from wear. R2 bottom guiding roller In combination with the top guiding roller, the bottom guiding roller takes care of the knife guidance instead of the wear plates only. The teeth will grab the stalk instead of cutting it and pull it into the cutting gap of the guard. This will increase knife load which demands increased power requirements.
