Hotel Accessibility Pack Thank you for considering Hilton Leicester. We are pleased to give you some information about our hotel that you may find useful when planning your visit. Arrival at the hotel On arrival at the hotel we operate an ANPR parking system. Please drive up to the barrier where our cameras will read your registration plate and rise automatically. Our reception team will then take your registration details from you allowing you to exit the car park at your convenience. You should use the main entrance of the hotel. The main entrance has two automatic sliding doors. After 12am we lock the main doors but there is a button you can press for attention. There is a drop-off point outside the main entrance. However, this is the emergency lane and should be cleared as soon as possible after drop off. There are eight disabled spaces for disabled drivers located across from the front entrance to the hotel and a further two located at the LivingWell Entrance. If you need help with luggage, equipment or any guidance, please see reception. Welcome and Reception There are no steps in the main lobby area. The front desk is located to your left hand side as you enter from the main hotel entrance, along with the conference rooms. Directly in front of you is a seating area. 1

To the right of the lobby is the Flavours Restaurant. The surface of the lobby floor is marble with carpet for the seating area. Check In is at the main reception desk, which is 1.15m high. However, if you ask a member of staff will also be able to come to the seating area and check you into the hotel from there with a clipboard. The Induction Loop is at the check in point at the centre of the reception desk. When you check in, our staff will tell you about our evacuation policy; this is available in large print and Braille on request. Other Services If you want to order a newspaper, please contact the reception team. We will then deliver your newspaper each day to your room. You can order a wakeup call in your room using either the phone system or the television. Toilet Facilities There are two sets of public toilets in the hotel. One set is on the far left hand side past the reception, while the other toilets are in the conference area of the hotel. Both sets have accessible toilets and are both on the ground floor, 2

Getting around the hotel As a small hotel, unfortunately we do not have lifts to all floors. With over 80 ground floor rooms, our hotel is easily accessible for all your needs. Piacetto Coffee Bar The coffee shop is located in the main lobby area. Table service is available in this area. This area is carpeted. Bar The Bar is directly behind the Piacetto Coffee Bar and is down three steps. To the left hand side, is a ramp down to the bar and outside court yard. The bar seating area is carpeted, while the area surrounding the actual bar has a marble floor. There is also table service at all times. Flavours Restaurant The Flavours Restaurant is located on the ground floor. The restaurant seating area is carpeted and the entrance and buffet area has a wooden floor. For evening meals we have menus to choose from and buffets on selected nights, for further details please contact Flavours Restaurant For Breakfast there is a Self Service buffet and our cold units are 1.2m high and the hot plate is 1.2m high. Our staff are happy to help with any dietary or special requests. 3

Our menus are available in large print. We supply Arthritic cutlery upon request. Conference Facilities We have nine meeting rooms, which can be separated in to eleven smaller rooms. They are all on the ground floor, and all the meeting rooms and corridors are carpeted. All meeting rooms can are fitted with a At your service button if you require help at any time. You can arrange to hire audio visual equipment before your event. Please inform the Conference and Banqueting Sales Team when you re making your booking. Our main Langton Suite which holds up to 120 people is fitted with an induction loop along with our Bosworth room that can hold up to 100 people A portable induction loop is available for all our suites. Livingwell Health Club The hotel has a LivingWell Health Club on the ground floor. You can access the Health Club by the bedroom corridor to the left of reception or via their entrance at the bottom of the hotel car park. There are 7 steps here along with a ramp. The gym has seven running machines, three cycling machines, four cross training machine and two step machines, resistance machinery and two free weights areas. There are also two pieces of dual-use, hand-bike and multi-gym. Staff are trained how to instruct guests in how to use all the equipment. Complimentary towels are available. Two water dispensers are also available in the Health Club. 4

The swimming pool is accessible down steps. However, a hoist and sling are available to assist guest with access needs. The LivingWell Health Clun has a fixed induction loop. In the male and female changing rooms there are three walk in showers units and there is also an accessible wet room which has a seated shower area. Bedrooms Six equipped semi-accessible rooms are all located on the ground floor. All rooms are doubles, and have an interconnecting door linking to the next room. Each room has low level accessories and an adapted bathroom with panic cord and low level grab rails. You can add the following equipment to any room in the hotel for your use : A Derby Toilet Seat A Derby Bath Board mark 2 with handle To aid getting in and out of the bath an inflatable chair can be fitted. Rubber Mats To aid with getting into the bath a step can be provided Your room will have a chair at the desk, an arm chair and a coffee table. If you need more space in your room, we can remove any of these items. Please contact either reservations, before your stay, or housekeeping once you have arrived at the hotel to arrange for furniture to be moved. Four of these rooms have fire escapes instead of windows. 5

In The Event Of Emergencies The Hotel operates a system of PEEPs (Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans). On check-in to the hotel, you will be offered the opportunity to discuss and outline any special requirements or assistance you may need should an evacuation of the hotel be necessary as a result of a fire or other emergency situation. You will be given a copy of this Emergency Evacuation Plan and we will keep a copy for our hotel fire team to refer to in case of an evacuation taking place during your stay. Should you have any concerns regarding emergency evacuations please speak to the Duty Manager Emergency alarms are tested every Thursday morning at 11am; this will consist of three separate rings, which will only last a few seconds each. A bedside phone and bedside light controls The Deaf Guard Unit communicates the fire alarm to deaf and hard of hearing people.
