This park is surrounded by attractive Georgian buildings that are used as offices and law firms. Another attractive aspect of this street is the series of beautiful constructions which where built at the beginning of the 20th century. Fashionable department stores, major high street retailers, lovely specialty shops, banks, restaurants, cafes and residential apartments above the shops are situated along this street. The street is also well known for a number of public houses and pubs, which are always used by locals as meeting points for socializing and for catching up. Walking on Briggate Street will give tourists a real feel of this vibrant city s daily life. The college was founded in 1965 as a Leeds Music Centre, where different musical activities were taking place. In 1997 the centre became the Leeds College of Music and moved to its current location in a cultural quarter of Quarry Hill. The college is famous for its leading role in jazz education. The medieval bridge was erected at the beginning of the 18th century. At the end of 19th century, this old bridge was rebuilt and widened using the latest iron cost technology to match the transportation needs of the growing city. Some of the beautiful design features of the bridge include old lamp posts and images of coats of arms. Today it is an important daily life transport hub of the city for both pedestrians and drivers.
