CAPE TOWN AND SOUTHERN TIP EXPLORER Tour overview Visit The mother City of South Africa, explore the rich history and cultures of this unique friendly city this being off course Cape town, we will walk it drive it and experience what the locals call sundowners over it and more importantly get to see Table mountain not only from our hike up but also get the chance to see it on our champagne sail cruise departing out of the V&A Waterfront. Our adventure moves on to the stunning "Dorp" of Hemanus where we will stand the chance to see some whales, dolphins and seals. We will spend two lovely relaxing nights here giving us the opportunity to explore the close by Hemel op aarde" nature reserve or just put our feet up and overlook the Atlantic Ocean in search of the mighty Southern right Whale. after we enjoyed out adventure we set off to the most southern tip of the African Continent, here we will see the Atlantic and the Indian ocean meet, in the Indian we will have the opportunity to swim or paddle in the calm blue turquoise waters, maybe have a visit from the resident stingray at the small harbor of "struisbaai" or enjoying the local brew of beer called strangely enough Pelican. We enjoy the last sunset over the ocean before we head back to the Mother city to our departures at the end of a great tour. Day 1. Cape Town Arrive Cape Town, transfer to lodge and we will check in before heading out the V&A waterfront for lunch and site seeing and a bit of free time. We drive up to Signal hill where we get a glimpse over the city and Table Mountain in the back whilst we enjoy our first of many sundowners with Robin Island in the far back. After this we transfer back to our lodge and get ready for the night out at the local restaurant. INCLUDED: Airport Transfer, Wine on Signal hill
Day 2. Cape Town This morning after a scrumptious breakfast we head out to go and see some African penguins at Boulder beach on route we will drive though Simon s town and learn about it as we go. We then set off to the Cape of Good Hope and get in some photos before the rush gets in. We walk a short walk up a board walk to the lighthouse and explore the history before departing back to our lodge for the night. Get refreshed and head out to do our Sunset champagne cruise out of the harbor before we return to the V&A waterfront for supper INCLUDED: Breakfast, Boulders beach, Cape peninsula entrance, Champagne cruise. Day 3. Cape Town Again after we had our delicious breakfast we get into our comfortable shoes as we will do a short transfer to the center of town and start out city walking tour which will include the he City Hall where old president Nelson Mandela did his first speech, we move to the St. Georges cathedral and learn about Desmond Tutus famous speeches, as we move on to the company gardens we get to see the Parliament of South Africa see the "Tuin Huis" and learn much more. Even get to see a strange gift from Germany to Mandela. We end the city tour by going into the old slave houses "Bo-kaap" we enjoy a local lunch before we transfer to the base at Table Mountain. We will now have the opportunity to hike up Tale Mountain either via Platteklip kloof or India Venster route last mentioned a little bit hardier. Those who don t what to hike up can take the cable car up own expense up. The hike will be about 2-4 hours. we get to the op enjoy the view over the city and if the weather plays along we see the sunset over the city before taking the cable car down. We meet our transfer and back to our lodge refresh and head out for our last supper in Cape Town. INCLUDED: Breakfast, Refreshments and water for the hike up Table Mountain, Cable car down.
Day 4. HERMANUS After breakfast we set out to Hermanus, today we will drive via the famous Chapman s peak drive stopping regularly for the views. We arrive in Houtbay a quick stop and back on the road via Clarence drive the stunning coastal drive starts from Gordon s bay till we get into Hermanus we aim to arrive midafternoon. Explore the local beach or relax at the lodge. A little later we will drive up to Rotary drive where we see the Town from high up enjoying wine as we look out for whales back down to the lodge and off to a local restaurant for supper. INCLUDED: Breakfast, Lunch, Wine on top or rotary drive. Day 5. HERMANUS Some free time today in season(mid June - Late November) we can take a boat out to see the whales(optional) n walker bay or relax at the beach, hike the close by "Hemel op aarde" Heaven on earth or even go do some kayaking. Some might want to explore the town and sit on the benches overlooking the ocean in search of whales this town is one of the best in the world to see whales from the land with whale blowers in the area everyone can stand a chance to see whales from boat or land. For those who want to experience a life time memory go shark cage dive the Great white sharks (optional) tonight we will also be catered for by your guide who will cook up a local traditional dish. NOTE: out of season we will include a trip in walker bay kayaking in search of dolphins. INCLUDED: Breakfast, Town transfer both ways (time dependent on guide), Supper
Day 6. Cape L AGULAS After breakfast, we shall be on the road for a short transfer to the most Southern point on the African continent, on route we will stop in some of the small towns and enjoy a bit of explorations. We aim to arrive at lunch time and get the best fish and chips for lunch at the most southern tip. after which we head out to the point get our pictures taken. Then a short walk to a boardwalk will take us to the pictureistic Lighthouse where we can climb to the top and see the view or just explore inside the museum of lighthouses around the world. From the top we can see our lodge for the night go and check in before we set of to the beach to experience the Indian Ocean in the late afternoon. For those not wanting to paddle we go to the small harbor and drink a cold or hot one as we still need to keep an eye out for the resident Stingray. We head back to our lodge freshen up and walk to our restaurant where we have out last meal. INCLUDED: Breakfast, Lunch, Lighthouse climb/museum fee Day 7. TOUR ENDS Our last breakfast then we head back to Cape Town where we will be dropped off at the chosen lodge or transfer to the Airport. INCLUDED: Breakfast, Airport of lodge Transfer
Notes: For the hike up Table Mountain you do NOT need boots just comfortable shoes as it is an easy hike. But bring hat and sunscreen. Accommodations we will be staying in Guesthouses ranging from 3 to 4 star, it supports the local people and gives us a more local feeling they are all rated high and is perfectly suited for this tour. Meals: Breakfast will generally consist of Bacon and eggs, continental. Lunches will be at local establishments, and the odd sandwich with a selection of toppings, cold meats, cheese, tomato etc. Suppers will generally be braai BBQ, stir fry s, stews etc. All coffee and teas, juices are provided.
