Outstanding Results, October 2014 International Visitors to Mexico (Banxico) According to Banco de México, the number of international tourists traveling to Mexico surpassed 23.2 million in the first ten months of 2014, a new record high for any January-October period. The incoming of foreign currency from international visitors to Mexico from January to October also was a high record totaling 13,134 million dollars. During January-October, 2014, the tourism balance was positive totaling 5,363 million dollars; number higher than the record achieved in any first ten-month period in a year. International visitors increased 2.7% with respect to January-October, 2013, reaching 65.8 million of visitors. Hotel activity Domestic tourism The percentage of hotel occupation in a group of 70 resorts was 1.53% higher in comparison to their occupation in January-October 2013, reaching 57%. The arrival of domestic tourists to hotel rooms in these 70 resorts during the first ten months of 2014, was more than 41.6 million people, being 5.74% higher than the number reached in 2013 during the same period. 1

Air transportation The arrival of passengers by plane increased 8.4% during the first ten months of 2014 in comparison to the arrivals during the January-October period in 2013, reaching 40.9 million of air plane passengers. The arrival of passengers on domestic flights exceeded 26.9 million people; this is an increase of 7.8% in comparison to the January-October period of 2013. Also, the number of domestic flights increased 6.2%. 13.9 million of passengers were recorded on international flights, which is an increase of 9.5% in comparison to the first ten-month period of 2013. This result was accompanied by a higher number of international flights seen in the same period (5.9%). As for the number of people arriving by plane to Mexico by nationality, it was recorded in the same period that: Americans were the major group representing 56.1% of the total of air arrivals followed by Canadians with 12.3%; as for people arriving from Latin America and the Caribbean, Colombians stand out having reached 2.5%. Maritime transportation The ports that received the highest number of cruise passengers during the January-October period in 2014 were the following: Cozumel (2,698,932), Ensenada (572,515) and Majahual (315,740); Ensenada highlighted having an increase of 50.6% in comparison to the January-October period of 2013. Thus, the total of arrivals increased 28.7% during the same period. 2

The Tourism Balance shows a positive result of 5,362.8 million dollars for the first ten months of 2014, this means an increase of 35% in comparison to the January- October period of 2013. Thousands of tourists International visitors to Mexico Long-stay Tourism The long-stay tourists arrival increased 9.6% during the first ten months of 2014, compared to the same months of the previous year. 85.9% entered by air while the remaining 14.1% entered by land. Maritime transportation Passengers of tourism cruises During the first ten months of 2014, the number of cruise passengers increased 964 thousand; this is an increase of 28.7% in comparison to the same period of the previous year, reaching 4.3 millions of passengers. During January-October, 2014, the number of cruise passengers increased at the ports of Ensenada (50.6%), Puerto Vallarta (60.8%) and Huatulco (5.3%) in comparison to the same period of 2013. On the other hand, accroding to Banco de Mexico, the income of foreign currency from cruise visitors contributed with 2.5% of all the foreign currency during the first ten months of the year.
