AU-210 26 NOV 10 AUSTRALIA APT DIR CLASS D PROCEDURES CIRCUIT OPERATIONS When freq congestion or failure does not allow acft to obtain freq transfer instructions and the acft has been assigned 1,500 (sunrise-sunset) or 1,700 (sunset-sunrise), acft should contact Jandakot Twr on 118.1 at 3NM Jandakot. Circuit training operations are only permitted 0600-2230 LT Mon-Sat, 0800-1800 LT Sun. Circuit Directions During Tower Hours of Operation: Day Night Runway 06L: LEFT RIGHT Runway 06R: RIGHT Not Avbl Runway 24L: LEFT Not Avbl Runway 24R: RIGHT LEFT Runway 12: LEFT LEFT Runway 30: LEFT LEFT VFR PROCEDURES Unless otherwise instructed by ATC, a pilot must report Downwind when starting or entering the downwind leg of the traffic circuit. If freq congestion prevents the call being made when starting the downwind leg, the pilot must report Mid-Downwind or Late-Downwind as appropriate. ARRIVALS VFR acft inbound to Jandakot wishing to transit Perth controlled airspace, shall: a. Within 36NM of Perth, contact ACD on 132.95; b. Beyond 36NM and within 90NM contact Melbourne Centre 133.9; c. Beyond 90NM and within 160NM contact Melbourne Centre 125.2/133.9; d. Contact ATC at least 10NM prior to CTA/CTR entry point to confirm flight details and obtain clearance. Acft which have not lodged Flight Notification details may be subject to clearance delay or denial. DEPARTURES Clearance for VFR acft to operate in the JT CTR and VFR acft departing into Class G will be issued on JT Twr freq. A take-off clearance constitutes a clearance to operate within the CTR or depart the CTR in accordance with the intentions notified with the ready call. During daylight hrs, all VFR acft are required to depart JT CTR into Class G airspace at an altitude of 1,000. Departure Routes: a. Depart to the W and NW track via Murdock University to Fremantle Golf Course. When established over the Murdoch University open space, climb from 1,000 and reach 1,500 by the W boundary of the University. When Rwy 12 is duty rwy, depart by extending the downwind leg until clear of base and final traffic, then track via Murdoch University open space to FREM. Note: Caution - inbound traffic to the S on the Powerhouse to Adventure World track. b. Depart to the S via Yangebup Lake to Lake Thompson. When Rwy 12 is duty rwy depart to SE and SW by extending the right crosswind leg then track clear of FDL and the inbound route. c. Depart to the E via Armadale. When Rwy 30 is duty rwy, depart via a right circuit by extending the right downwind leg then track clear of final Rwy 30. Note: Remaim clear of Perth CTA and Forrestdale Lake. d. Acft departing via YGB and ARE should climb to an altitude above 1,500 as soon as practical upon leaving Jandakot CTR and entering Class G airspace. During night, all departing acft may plan to track via preferred route at an altitude of 1,500. Acft should consider alternative departure tracks if LSALT above 1,500. HELICOPTER OPERATIONS DEPARTURES / ARRIVALS Unless otherwise approved by ATC, all helicopters leaving or entering the Jandakot CTR shall comply with Class D procedures. Pilots shall nominate the helicopter landing site (HLS) they wish to use on initial contact with Jandakot Tower. HLS departures and arrivals shall be parallel to the duty runway unless otherwise specified by ATC. Practice auto-rotative landings are not permitted on HLS. Pilots must advise of the intention to conduct circuit training ops with the taxi or inbound call.

AUSTRALIA APT DIR 26 NOV 10 AU-211 HELICOPTER TRAINING A helicopter training area has been established on the aerodrome within the area bounded by the Rwy 06R/ 24L, taxiway S and the airport boundary road. Training may be conducted out to the southeastern airport boundary subject to ATC approval. Helicopters proceeding to/from the training area are to obtain clearance to cross Rwy 06L/24R (when active) from Jandakot Tower (119.4 MHz). An auto-rotative landing area is identified by an asphalt aiming marker. Unless otherwise specified by ATC, the following conditions are applicable while operating in the training area: a. All operations shall be at least 100m from the runways and at least 50m from the windsock/ anemometer; b. All operations shall be limited to not above 200' AGL; c. Slope landing training may be conducted in the grassed drain on the southwest side of the training area subject to ATC clearance. Training Circuits Circuits may be conducted from the training area subject to the following conditions: a. Circuit altitude shall be 800'; b. Circuits parallel to Rwy 24L or Rwy 12 shall be LEFT HAND; c. Circuits parallel to Rwy 06R or Rwy 30 shall be RIGHT HAND; d. Circuit size shall be such that all legs are flown inside the corresponding fixed wing circuit. A continuous lookout for fixed wing traffic shall be maintained at all times. Once established on the appropriate Tower frequency, the only communication required is a "BECOMING AIR- BORNE" call prior to each circuit. ATC will not positively control take-off or landing or provide sequencing instructions. Initial traffic information will be provided in respect to other helicopters conducting circuits. VFR Communications Failure Procedures In the event of a communication failure: a. Carry out communication failure procedures in an emergency. b. Continue to transmit intentions. c. Track via FDL or ADWD as appropriate. d. Enter the CTR at 1,500. e. Proceed to overhead the apt at 1,500. f. Ascertain Rwy(s) in use; descend to join the appropriate circuit at 1,000 (remain clear of the other circuit). g. When parallel Rwy(s) are in use the appropriate rwy is Rwy 06L/24R. h. Proceed with normal circuit and landing, maintain separation from other acft. i. Watch for light signals from the Twr. Outside Twr Hrs: a. Class C airspace above 1,500 remains active. b. Standard Class D departure and arrival tracks should be used. c. Flights planned to enter PH CTR/CTA must obtain SSR code and ATC freq from PH ACD 132.95. d. Acft arriving Jandakot from Class G airspace but requiring clearance to enter PH CTA contact PH ACD 132.95 15NM JT for clearance. e. Max 5 acft may operate circuit training outside Twr hrs. f. Acft conducting circuit training outside Twr hrs should broadcast intentions downwind. g. Pilots requiring a clearance into Perth CTA/CTR, contact Perth ACD 132.95. h. Recommended fixed wing circuit altitude 1,000. Circuit Directions Outside Tower Hours of Operation: Runway 06L RIGHT Runway 24R LEFT Runway 12 LEFT Runway 30 LEFT NOISE ABATEMENT Fly Neighbourly Flight procedures have been designed for Jandakot to minimize repetitive ops over residential areas. Pilots can assist iby adopting rates of climb/descent which minimize noise over residential areas. a. Preferred rwys when Twr active are: 1. Rwy 06L/24R is most preferred for arrivals and departures. 2. Rwy 06R/24L is preferred for circuit training and departure via ARE in Class G airspace. 3. ATC will consider nominating an alternative rwy when the crosswind exceeds 12 kts sunrise-sunset or 10 kts sunset-sunrise or when there is a downwind. b. Repetitive formation circuits are not permitted; c. Repetitive low-level circuits are not permitted on Rwys 06L/24R; d. During the conduct of circuit operations, the size of the circuit flown should be kept as compact as practicable. While pilots are urged to consider the impact of aircraft noise, this in no way should be the basis of any action which could compromise safety.
