Beaver Valley Ski Club Slalom Column PRESIDENTS REPORT Greetings to all! The summer is winding down and the BVSC Board is busy planning some great trips for the upcoming ski season. We agreed on a plethora of changes and all to make our trips more reasonable for members. Also, all this with no cost to the fun factor. First we have agreed to offer a free lift ticket to the trip leader for each trip. We really appreciate the work done by the trip leaders and agree it is only fair to compensate them in this small way for this work. Second we will offer 50% off on the Holiday Valley 1 Trip to 3 lucky winners of 3 drawings, 1 to take place at each of the meetings in October, November, and December. To be eligible for the drawing all you need to do is come to the meeting, write your name on a slip of paper and put it in the hat and hope for your name to be drawn at the end of the meeting. Obviously, you must be present to win. Our third change is to offer a 10% discount on trips for those who pay in full 30 days in advance of the trip. You will still be able to cancel two weeks prior to the trip if necessary. Not only are we offering all these great incentives, but all trips will go at last years prices. Now, let s fill that bus!!! Janelle has agreed to take over the candy sale again. This is our only fundraiser and we would appreciate all members to participate. She will bring boxes of candy bars to the October meeting, so if you prefer to sell individual candy bars rather than boxes of chocolate, you can do so. We are also trying to get our order forms early this year and hopefully they will be available at the October Meeting. As most of you already know, we have been attending the Ski and Snowboard Kick Off at Quaker Steak and Lube every year and plan to do so again this year. The date for the kick off is November 15 th. All members are asked to bring items for a raffle basket to the next meeting and will receive a free ticket to the haha pot. We also need members to help set up and sell raffle tickets at the event. It s always a great time so we d love to have everyone join us. We are also in the beginning planning stages for our day trips to Hidden Valley and Seven Springs. We would like to have one trip a month on a Saturday or Sunday. We are looking for trip leaders and this would be a good way to get your feet wet for first time trip leaders. I know it s still pretty warm outside right now, but it takes a lot of planning for a successful ski season, so get ready snowfall is right around the corner. See you at the meeting.
