Treasurer WALWORTH COUNTY 2017 REAL ESTATE TAX RATES PER M (THOUSAND) ON MARKET VALUE The attached chart shows the 2017 real estate tax Net used to compute the net tax on the 2017 real estate tax bills. The net taxes include the Lottery and Gaming Credit. Due to the rounding of figures, some may be off insignificantly. As of January 1 of each year, the municipal assessor places a value on all taxable general property in the taxing district. (Manufacturing property is assessed by the Department of Revenue.) This is the ASSESSED VALUE. In September of each year, the Bureau of Property Tax of the Wisconsin Department of Revenue determines the actual market value of all of the general property in each taxation district in Wisconsin. This is called the FAIR MARKET VALUE. By dividing the ASSESSED VALUE by the FAIR MARKET VALUE you obtain the ASSESSMENT RATIO as shown on the tax bill.
