Matters Arising Cmplaints/Cncerns Julie advised members that Shna Weltn was attending the jint Nrth and Suth PPF meeting n 29 th January t update members n the prcess fr raising cmplaints and cncerns. GP Appintment (Airdrie) Nancy Pettigrew had vlunteered t be invlved in the appintment prcess fr a new GP at the Millstream Practice in Airdrie. Unfrtunately, Nancy was unable t attend the prpsed dates and Pat Reilly agreed t replace her.

Equality & Diversity Hina Sheikh, E&D Manager, NHSL Hina attended the meeting t update members n a draft paper that was t be submitted t the Bard, identifying the equality utcmes f NHS Lanarkshire. The paper highlighted the steps required t ensure that NHS Lanarkshire will cmply with the Equality Acti 2010 and the changes that need t be made t existing quality plans as a result f this. The draft paper was circulated t members fr infrmatin. Hina advised that althugh 6 specific utcmes had been identified, ther nging wrk in this area wuld cntinue. The 6 utcmes agreed n had been chsen as they culd be evidenced t ensure better inclusin frm an equalities perspective and culd be reprted n by the teams wh deliver the services. Felix enquired if any links been made with Nrth and Suth Lanarkshire Cuncil arund this wrk? Hina advised that sme discussins have taken place regarding jint utcmes but as the prcess was fairly new, NHSL wanted t ensure the success f their wn utcmes befre participating in jint wrk. Discussin then fllwed arund ptential areas fr future utcmes, particularly Yung wmen s sexual health Prstate Cancer Engagement with the Asian cmmunity Hina asked members t cntact her directly if they had any further cmments r questins. She als advised that Equality & Diversity Training was available fr thse interested and culd be tailred t PPF members needs and availability. Mnklands & Wishaw General Liaisn Meetings Pssible Agenda Tpics Julie asked members fr any tpics they wuld like n the agendas fr the frthcming meetings. Updates frm ther grups/ppf Grup membership The fllwing updates were given. Sme papers were circulated in advance f the meeting with ther t fllw nce the minutes had been prduced. OMC/Mdernisatin Bard Felix shared Margaret Mncrieff s reprt n the Mdernisatin Bard with members. He advised that the full minute was nt yet available but culd be requested frm Julie nce it was. Felix cmmented n the Perfrmance Management Reprt shared at the OMC, a cpy f which will be circulated with the minutes. In the main, mst waiting times were within target. Fr thse areas nt meeting targets, steps were being taken t address these. Stephen advised that Audilgy had been n target fr a number f mnths but had been awaiting a new data
reprting system t allw accurate reprting, which was nw in place. Greg advised that Chrnic Pain patients were waiting 9 mnths. Stephen advised that this didn t sit under Primary Care, but under Acute s he wuld have t request this infrmatin frm anther avenue t be able t clarify. A grup has been set up with input frm NHSL, NLC and SLC regarding what the new rganisatinal arrangements may lk like. Stephen reiterated that in the Nrth, many services are already integrated and wrk wuld cntinue twards the plan. Representative fr Paediatric Service Review Wrkshp Dnald advised that he may knw smene wh wuld be interested in this s Julie agreed t cntact him separately t take frward. Representative fr Patient Advice and Supprt Service Lcal Advisry Grup (PASS) Pat expressed interest in being invlved with this grup s Julie wuld link in directly with Pat and frward his details t Shna Weltn. ACTION Julie t pass Pat s details t Shna Weltn Representative fr NHS24 Public Stakehlder Event Julie advised that there had been a vlunteer frm Suth PPF t attend this event and the grup were happy with this. Usually Ann Muir wuld attend but she wuld be n hliday when the event is taking place. Representative fr Strategic Transprt Access Grup (STAG) Dnald vlunteered t part f the grup and members apprved this. Julie agreed t pass Dnald s details t Marysia in Cmmunicatins. Members were als asked t prvide Julie with any issues r feedback they may have in rder that Dnald culd take this t the STAG. ACTION Julie t email members re any issues/feedback fr STAG. Primary Care Investment Bard (DS) - As per David s reprt he advised that plans fr all 3 new health centres in Lanarkshire were n track. He nted that a dentist was n lnger mving t Wishaw and a GP was n lnger mving t Hunter in East Kilbride which had a meant a last minute change in plans. He advised it was a pssibility that lcal businesses wuld be used wh wuld prvide apprenticeships. Paul Carter advised that Rss McGuffie, Service Manager fr the Kilsyth area, wuld be attending the Kilsyth Cmmunity Frum t prvide an update n the health centre. ACTION David s reprt t be circulated with minutes. Stakehlder Engagement Grup (JA) Julie had been unable t attend the last meeting f the grup but gave a verbal update frm the minutes f the meeting
and advised she wuld circulate the full minute t members. She highlighted that she had cllated and submitted PPF members respnses n the Public Invlvement Imprvement Plan. She als highlighted that bth Hmepathy and the Participatin Standards had been discussed and referred members t the reprts submitted by MM and AM. The minute als referred t the NHSL Cmmunicatins Strategy Event that was ging t be held. Julie cnfirmed this had taken place and had been well attended by PPF members and Margaret s reprt wuld be circulated fr infrmatin. ACTION Julie t circulate SEG minutes and MM reprt frm Cmmunicatins Strategy Event. Healthcare Assciated Infectin (JMcM) There had been n meeting since Octber s n update was available. Acute OMC (JR) Minutes f the last meeting were circulated t members. Jhn advised that the ASSET team had attended and presented t the Acute OMC. Feedback n their wrk frm the Scttish Gvernment was psitive they were lking t enhance the service in 2013. He als cmmented that it appeared that NHS Lanarkshire were nt able t recruit as gd quality junir dctrs as ther hspitals, particularly teaching hspitals but ways f attracting them wuld be lked at. Children & Maternity Service Imprvement Bard (JA) Julie circulated her reprt frm the last meeting where the main pints were presentatins given by Maria Reid and Shirley Mitchell n the First Steps Prgramme and the Early Years Framewrk. Via the Big Lttery, 0.5m f new funding had been given t First Steps t increase the number f case wrkers and subsequently the numbers f vulnerable mthers that the prject culd wrk with. The Early Years Cllabrative wrk was a system wide piece f wrk n hw t make things better fr children. Stephen advised that a lt f Early Years wrk was taking place and evidence is very psitive in the imprvements it is making. He suggested it may be wrth having smene attend a future PPF meeting s Julie agreed t pursue this. ACTION Julie t lk at pssibility f smene cming alng t prvide an update n Early Years wrk. Hmepathy Services Grup (AM) Ann s reprt was circulated t members. She had attended a visit t the Hmepathy clinic in Glasgw and was visiting ne in Carluke as part f the review int Hmepathic Services in Lanarkshire. She advised she wuld share the utputs f the review with the grup when available. Chrnic Pain Service (AM/GM) Ann s reprt was circulated t members. Greg advised that there are sme NHSL clinics where patients wh need patient transprt can get it, but Chrnic Pain isn t ne f them. It appeared t be the case that Higher Rate Mbility recipients weren t entitled t transprt and he felt this plicy was unfair.
