PAGE 2 Vill age News and Notes HOLDEN TIMES - Resignations: Councillors Tyler Bartel and Carl Marsh have resigned from Holden Village Council. Both cited a change in employment responsibilities and scheduling as the reason for leaving. The Village has requested, from Municipal Affairs, permission to extend the vacancies until the General Election: Monday, October 16, 2017. (Note: information about the General Election will be available on the Holden website in coming months. Also visit: www.municipalaffairs.alberta.ca/mc_elections) - Council Meeting in May will not be held on the third Monday; but on Thursday, May 4, at 7:00 pm in the Village office. - Financial Statements, 2016 are available at the Village office, or on the website: www.village.holden.ab.ca/planning-finance - Public Behaviour Bylaw received first reading at the April Council meeting. A copy is available on the Holden website under News. - Large Item Pick Up is Monday, May 8. Place large, household items directly on the street by the curb; no yard waste (cut up & put inside bins); Frig/Freezer/AC must be pre-paid ($25) at the Village office, and have an ID sticker. Call Village office for info: 780-688-3928 - Water Rates increase by $.03 per cubic meter effective May 1/17. (www.hwy14water.ca) - Holden School Pitch-In: May 18-Thank you to Students & Teachers for cleaning up Holden!! Members of the public are welcome to attend any Council meeting. If a person or a delegation wishes to address Council on a specific issue, please contact the Village Office by 12:00 noon on Thursday, the week before the meeting with your request in writing.
