This standalone, singlefamily cottage and separate guest cottage welcome your group with 2 bedrooms, 2 baths and one spectacular outdoor area: Our backyard is a vibrantly painted, palmshaded paradise complete with outdoor sofas, a grilling station with a sink, and a big table (handmade by the owner, Andy) that s perfect for digging into a seafood feast together. A DAY AT THE SHACK AND THE FLUNKY Wake up in one of two bright, thoughtfully designed bedrooms. The first, in the main house (The Shack), features a queensize bed and plenty of closet space for your luggage. An elevated aerobed sleeps two more, and a full bath in The Shack features a tub/shower combo. The second bedroom is its own cottage (The Flunky) with another queen bed, as well as its own bath with a walkin shower. Make your way to the open, sundrenched kitchen for coffee at the vintage breakfast bar. The adjacent living area features sofas and chairs, a TV with cable, free WiFi throughout, and kickoffyourflipflops comfort. When you re ready to explore Treasure Island, make use of the provided cruiser bicycles. Or walk just 1,000 feet (about 3 minutes) to the Gulf and Treasure Island Beach. Cross the street to the intracoastal waterway (about 5 blocks) and the fishing pier.
In our location, you get easy beach access without beach congestion. Get around easily by car: you have access to onstreet parking, plus room in the private driveway for one larger vehicle or two smaller cars. Or forget the car: the beach, restaurants, and ice cream are just a stroll away. If you have luck on the water, bring your day s catch back to the backyard grilling and cleaning station. Prepping dinner can be a family affair out here, with plush outdoor furniture and several bar/seating areas for gathering before the meal. When the sun sinks, shake up a cocktail at the Surfboard Bar or the Boat Bar and light a fire in the double firepit. Then illuminate your private paradise with a string of Christmas lights and a chandelier over the dining table. The indooroutdoor living is easy here! HISTORY OF THE SHACK The Shack is a former pilot s cottage in fact, it s one of the last original cottages from a time before Treasure Island was accessible by bridge. (And it s had the same name, The Shack, since the 1940s.) Your hosts, Andy and Carol, fell in love with The Shack at first sight first online, and then in person after flying out right away to see it. They have spent the last 8 years creating a truly original hideaway here. Vintage finds, colorful design schemes, handmade items and and reclaimed goodies give The Shack and The Flunky their oneofakind personalities. Treasure Island is located on the Pinellas Beaches. There are many fine restaurants located nearby as well as fun little restaurants. Parasailing, jet skiing, kayaking, motor boat rentals, sail boat rentals as well as bikes and mopeds are all available on the beach. Golf courses abound in the area. Major shopping malls AC and Heat. You are allocated one offstreet parking with this home. Limited parking is available on the street and does not require a permit. Pet allergies: All homes are petfriendly. This means that a pet has been in the home at some time. If you have pet allergies and do not take medication for them, you should not rent our homes. This does not mean that the home has not been cleaned, it simply means that we will not refund your money if you rent a "petfriendly" home and find it aggravates your allergies. Allergies to cleaning products: We generally make environmentallyfriendly cleaning products available in our homes, including Mrs. Meyers and Honest Company products. However, our homes are cleaned by a professional cleaning company and we do not guarantee that some portion of the home has not been cleaned with a more "traditional" cleaning product.
