Day Wise Itinerary: Day01: Arrive Delhi * On to Gurgaon (40 kms/ approx 01 hour) Welcome to your wonders of north with Oberoi tour! Day02: In Gurgaon After breakfast, enjoy a city tour of Delhi including visit to the Red fort, Jama Masjid and Chandni Chowk. Completed in 1648, the magnificent Red Fort (Lal Qila) is the grand legacy of the Mughal Emperor, Shah Jahan. It was commissioned by him to be his residence and modelled on the fort at Agra. The planning and design of the fort represents a fusion of traditions: Islamic, Persian, Timurid and Hindu. Jama Masjid, known as the Friday Mosque, is strategically built on a natural outcrop of rock, making it one of the largest mosques in India. Designed by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, the highly decorative mosque has three great gates, four towers and two 40 m-high minarets constructed of strips of red sandstone and white marble. Then, drive through the bustling Chandni Chowk. The densely populated market of Chandni Chowk has been around for more than three centuries and was once visited by merchants from Turkey, China and even Holland. As one of the oldest and busiest markets in India, its narrow winding lanes are full of inexpensive jewellery, fabrics, and electronics. Day 03: On to Agra (230 kms / approx. 5 hours drive) After breakfast, drive towards Agra. On arrival, check-in to the hotel. Later, enjoy a visit to Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. One of the universally admired masterpieces of the world s heritage, the Taj Mahal is celebrated for its architectural magnificence and aesthetic beauty. A UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Wonders of the World, it is an iconic example of Mughal architecture and an eternal testament to the artistic and scientific accomplishments of a wealthy empire. The massive red sandstone Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a hilltop citadel with fabulous courtyards, fountains and gates. Built in 1565, this powerful fortress overlooks the Taj Mahal and Yamuna River and incorporates within its 2.5 km enclosure walls, an enormous complex of courtly buildings reflecting the grandeur of the Mughal Empire. Overnight in Ranthambore. Day05: In Ranthambore The day is at leisure to explore Ranthambore National Park. One can opt for a Jeep safari in Ranthambore National Park. Ranthambore National Park is one of the largest national parks in India. It covers an area of 392 km. It is situated in the Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan. Here tigers even are easily spotted in the daytime. Other major wild animals are leopard, nilgai, wild boar, sambar, hyena, sloth bear and chital. It is home to wide variety of trees, plants, birds and reptiles, as well as one of the largest banyan trees in India. Overnight in Ranthambore. Day06: On to Jaipur (170 kms / approx. 4 hours drive) After breakfast, drive to the capital city of Rajasthan- Jaipur also known as the Pink city. On arrival, check-in to your hotel. Day07: In Jaipur After breakfast, on a sightseeing tour of Jaipur visiting the fabulous Amer Fort, City Palace and Hawa Mahal. The Amer Fort is also known as the Amber fort. The construction of Amber fort was started by Raja Mansingh in the 16th century and was completed by Sawai Jai Singh in the 18th Century. The palace here has been wonderfully built and has an intelligent design. The palace has a four storied layout and each level has its own courtyard. The fort provides an amazing advantage point to view the entire expanse of Amer. The City Palace, which includes the Chandra Mahal and Mubarak Mahal
palaces and other buildings, is a palace complex in Jaipur. It was the seat of the Maharaja of Jaipur, the head of the Kachwaha Rajput clan. The Chandra Mahal palace now houses a museum but the greatest part is that it is still a royal residence. It is a seven-storeyed building and each floor has been given a specific name. Mubarak Mahal, meaning the Auspicious Palace, was built with a fusion of the Islamic, Rajput and European architectural styles. Hawa Mahal otherwise known as the `Palace of Winds, was named so because it was a high screen wall built to allow royal ladies to observe everyday life in the street below without being seen. Constructed of red and pink sandstone, the palace sits on the edge of the City Palace, and extends to the zenana, or women's chambers. Its unique five-storey exterior is similar to the honeycomb of a beehive with its 953 small windows called jharokhas decorated with intricate latticework. Day 08: On to Udaipur (120 kms / approx. 3 hours drive) After breakfast, drive to the Lake city of Rajasthan- Udaipur. On arrival, check-in to your hotel. Day 09: In Udaipur After breakfast, proceed for city tour of Udaipur including visit to City Palace, Haldighati Maharana Pratap Museum and Jagdish Temple. Built by the Sisodia clan in 1559, the palace in Udaipur is a complex of various buildings that has been fortified over the period of 400 years. The palace displays musical instruments, various clothing items, paintings and other such antiques which were used by the Royal family. The famed Helmet and the sword of Maharana Pratap, the savior of Mewar, have been preserved here. The Haldighati Maharana Pratap Museum has the only pictorial representation of the war that was fought between Man Singh and Maharana Pratap. The museum houses a replica of the battlefield of Haldighati and the artifacts and various weapons that were used in it. The life of Maharana Pratap also has been portrayed here by means of murals. Built in obeisance to Lord Jagannathji, the temple deity was rechristened to Jagdish ji. Jagad-ish, means the Lord of the World. The temple here is a Hindu shrine that was built in the year 1651. A true architectural marvel, the temple has a multi steered hall which was reportedly used to hide members of the Royal family when the Mughals attacked Udaipur.
