Message from the President Rene Davis I hope you have all had a wonderful summer and are looking forward to reconnecting with your Parker Newcomers friends especially if you have not seen them for a few months or are new members. I know I look forward to Fall every year as a time when I can resume the fun activities that were on summer break. You may have noticed that our Luncheon Venue List is not as full of events as usual. This is by design and here is why. The PNC Board met and discussed our options going forward this year and we took several things under consideration one of which was the number of luncheons we were having for the 2018-2019 year. It was concluded, after considering the data, that we should try to reduce the number of luncheons to five from nine. We did not undertake this decision lightly. It has become more difficult to negotiate reasonably priced contracts with the continual rise in the cost of food, venues and entertainments. To keep costs as low as reasonably possible and the quality of the event as high as we could, we opted for fewer luncheons on a trial basis. At the end of this year, we will ask for feedback and take all that into account when we meet and envision the year 2019-2020. As always, your PNC Board has the interests of its members in mind when we make decisions. We are always open to suggestions and help to make your experiences the best! Respectfully, Rene 3
