SAR was stood down as the subjects were able to walk out on their own. 9 4 9 4 Shuswap RCM-SAR members responded to a rescue 9 subjects who were stranded on a houseboat on the Shuswap Lake, near Sicamous. The subjects were rescued and returned to safety. 2 4 2 4 Shuswap RCM-SAR members responded to Albas Falls and 2 Mile Beach up Seymour Arm to investigate a report of an overturned boat. The team was stood down en route after local first responders were able to rescue the boaters and bring them to shore. NEA LAND 2 5 2 5 Robson Valley SAR members responded to search for two missing hikers in the Baker Arch area of McBride. The team was stood down when hikers were located and returned to safety. SWE LAND 1 5 1 5 Chilliwack SAR members responded to Mt. Thom Park to assist with an injured subject. Chilliwack SAR was stood down when Chilliwack Fire successfully extricated the patient and their assistance was no longer required. LAND 1 13 1 9 Oliver and 4 Penticton SAR members responded to an RCMP request to locate a 66 year old despondent female who was last seen near her residence at Gallagher Lake near Oliver. The individual was located by the RCMP and transferred to BCAS. SWE LAND 1 16 1 16 Squamish SAR members responded to an RCMP request for assistance with a stuck climber at Shannon Falls Mountain. Subject retrieved by SAR rope rescue team in good condition. NWE LAND 1 1 1 1 Campbell River SAR member responded to an RCMP request for assistance with a missing hiker. The RCMP stood SAR down soon after the call out after the subject was located and returned to the lodge unharmed. NWE LAND 1 28 1 28 Bulkley Valley SAR, Houston SAR and Terrace SAR members responded to an RCMP request for assistance with a missing despondent male off Nielson Rd, near Smithers. Subject was located deceased. SWE 2 19 2 19 Ridge Meadows SAR members responded to an RCMP request for assistance investigating a capsized boat on Alouette Lake. The boaters were retrieved by SAR members in good condition. 26 09:25 180391 SWE LAND 4 4 North Shore Rescue members responded to a report of an emergency whistle being utilized on Seymour Mountain. After discussion with the individual who filed the report, it was ascertained that the whistling sound was a bird call as opposed to anyone in distress. 26 12:15 SEA LAND 1 6 1 6 Golden SAR members responded to a BCAS

180392 request for assistance with an injured mountain biker near the Cedar Lake Recreation site. The SAR team located, treated on site, and transferred to BCAS. 26 12:33 180393 26 13:19 180394 26 16:34 180395 26 19:06 180396 26 19:12 180397 26 1951 180398 27 07:53 180399 02/18 18:00 180400 27 18:32 180401 27 20:02 180402 27 20:40 180403 27 23:58 180404 NWE 2 6 2 1 North Peace, 4 Atlin and 1 Stewart SAR member responded to search for 2 missing boaters in the Marsh Lake area of Atlin. The boaters were unaware they were considered missing due to a malfunctioning SPOT device. NEA LAND 4 9 4 4 Mackenzie SAR and 5 PEP Air members responded to an RCMP request for assistance to locate a family of four, missing in the area of the Air Tanker base. The family was located in good health, SAR and PEP Air was stood down. SWE 10 10 Squamish SAR members responded to an RCMP request for assistance with a unattended floating kayak, last seen at the 900 block of Axon Road. The kayak was missing from a water sports rental company, and no people suspected to be in the water with it. SWE LAND 2 10 2 10 Lions Bay SAR members responded to 2 stranded hikers in Lions Bay. The subjects were airlifted out to safety. 4 4 Kelowna Marine Rescue members responded to an RCMP request for assistance with an over turned rowboat in the lake in Kelowna. Upon arrival it was determined the vessel was abandoned with no personnel onboard. SWE LAND 1 8 1 8 North Shore Rescue members responded to a BCAS request for a rock climber that fell 30 ft. The fire department took over the incident from SAR. VIR LAND 1 35 1 23 Metchosin SAR and 12 PEMO SAR members responded to an RCMP request in locating a missing despondent female near the Thetis Lake area of Victoria. Nothing was located. The RCMP and the SAR team decided to stand down until new information comes to light. NEA LAND 1 6 1 6 West Chilcotin SAR members responded to an RCMP request for a missing snowmobiler near Nimpo Lake. SAR stood down by enroute by RCMP, subject rescued by with minor injuries. Note: This event was not reported to the ECC but a task was requested by RDM Fox after the event. SWE LAND 2 21 1 1 21 Coquitlam SAR members responded to a teenager that fell into a waterfall at Buntzen Lake. The teenager was located deceased by SAR and brought out to the Coroner. The individual's friend was rescued by the SAR team. LAND 1 14 1 14 Central Okanagan SAR members responded to rescue an elderly male with dementia in West Kelowna. The elderly male was located alive and well by SAR. SEA 1 61 1 61 Castlegar, Nelson, Kaslo, Rossland and South Columbia SAR members responded to an RCMP request for an overdue Kayaker in the Slocan City area. The search was suspended without finding the missing subject. SWE LAND 14 14 Chilliwack SAR members responded to rescue an individual who fell into a 4 ft deep pond and had

The SAR team was stood down by RCMP once they searched the pond and confirmed no-one there. SWE LAND 1 9 1 9 Central Fraser Valley SAR members responded for a missing elderly male with dementia last seen at his home in Langley. SAR located the subject alive and well. SWE LAND 1 8 1 8 Kent-Harrison SAR members responded to an RCMP request for assistance in locating a missing male hiker near the Agassiz-Rosedale Bridge. The hiker was located deceased. VIR LAND 1 19 1 19 Juan De Fuca SAR members responded to an RCMP request for assistance in locating a missing despondent male. Subject located alive by RCMP and SAR was stood down. 1 5 1 1 Kent/Harrison, 2 Chilliwack and 2 Kamloops SAR responded to an RCMP request for assistance to look for a male missing from the Fraser River near Lytton. Extensive searches of the area failed to locate the subject and search was stood down pending new information. LAND 1 16 1 16 Vernon SAR members responded to an RCMP request for assistance with a rock climber that was stuck in the Fintry Falls area of Vernon. The SAR team was able to extricate the subject. SWE AIR 2ELT 54 2 14 Hope, 26 Chilliwack and 14 Princeton SAR members responded to a RCMP request for assistance with a emergency aircraft beacon going with and reports of one pilot and one passenger. Crash site was located by the Cormorant and confirmed the pilot and passenger were deceased, tasking is concluded at this time. NEA LAND 1 17 1 17 Prince George SAR responded to a BCAS request for assistance with a unconscious male on a quad. Subject was rescued via BCAS crew transported in a RCMP Vehicle. 1 6 1 6 Penticton Marine Rescue responded to a BCAS request for a assistance for a person in the water under the influence of narcotics. Subject was rescued and passed to awaiting BCAS crews. 4 4 Kelowna FD members responded to RCMP request for a boat in distress on Okanagan lake. Responders stood down when boat in distress was identified as an unmanned barge. VIR LAND 1 21 1 20 Nanaimo SAR members and 1 Arrowsmith SAR members responded to RCMP request for assistance in locating a mission despondent female in Nanaimo. The subject was located by a homeowner and transferred to BCAS safely. LAND 2 9 2 9 Shuswap SAR members responded to RCMP request for assistance with a missing male and child in the Sicamous area. The subjects were located by SAR and handed off to RCMP. SEA LAND 1 5 1 5 Nelson SAR responded to rescue an injured kayaker after he was attacked and injured by a grizzly bear along the Kootenay River south-east of Creston. SAR was stood down after the subject walked to a nearby road and rendezvoused with BCAS who transported to hospital.

Team was able to access the subject and bring safely out where they were passed to BCAS for treatment. 1 9 1 9 Peachland Fire and Rescue Service members responded to an injured 63 Y/O female that has fallen and sustained a possible broken hip near Commando Bay, on Rattlesnake Island, Okanagan Lake. Injured subject rescued by fire rescue. VIR LAND 1 5 1 5 Juan de Fuca SAR members responded to BCAS request to provide rope rescue skills for a vehicle reported to have gone off a cliff on the highway between Port Renfrew and Lake Cowichan near Lizard Lake. Team was stood down while mustering after the subject was able to get up to the road by themselves. 1 4 1 4 RCM-SAR members responded to a sinking speed boat in Shuswap Lake. Members rescued 1 person trying to tow a boat to shore and suffering from hypothermia. Occupant assessed by nurses on board. NEA LAND 2 10 2 10 Chetwynd SAR members responded to assist with 2 injured quad riders on a pipeline R/W, half way between Chetwynd Pulpmill Road and Melnychuck Road, near Chetwynd. SAR located the two subjects and passed them off to the care of BCAS. VIR LAND 1 10 1 10 Campbell River SAR members responded to RCMP request for assistance rescuing an injured female with a suspected broken ankle at Raft Cove near Port Hardy. Subject was successfully extracted and handed off to BCAS. SWE LAND 1 6 1 6 Hope SAR members responded to BCAS request for assistance in setting up a landing zone to extract an injured cyclist on Highway 3 just outside of Hope. SWE LAND 1 10 1 10 Squamish SAR members responded to assist with a lost camper at Cat Lake, near Squamish. The subject was retrieved and handed over to RCMP SWE LAND 1 10 1 10 Squamish SAR members responded to assist with an injured 60 Y/O male hiker that has sustained an ankle fracture at the top of the 2nd peak on The Chief, near Squamish. Team located the subject and brought out safely where they were passed to BCAS for treatment. LAND 1 11 1 11 members of Penticton SAR responded to rescue an injured Mt Biker in the 3 Blind Mice trail system. The subject was retrieved and handed over to BCAS. SWE LAND 1 1 1 1 Pemberton SAR member responded to an injured mountain biker in the Pemberton area. SAR was stood down afther the subject made it to the road and was picked up by BCAS. SWE LAND 1 1 1 1 Squamish SAR member responded to a male in medical distress near the main campground at the Chief. SAR was stood down after BCAS was able to access the subject.

SAR was stood down en route, BCAS made it to the subject first and transported to hospital immediately. SWE LAND 3 12 3 12 North Shore Rescue members responded to a hiker having a psychotic episode due to an acid trip. SAR was stood down when the RCMP advise the request for assistance was a prank. SWE LAND 1 1 Squamish SAR discussed situation with RCMP who advised a subject had been seen hiking in the Rubble Creek area and appeared to be ill prepared. WEEKLY INCIDENT REPORT Jun 25 July 1 2018 BODY RECOVERY On 30 June, an incident was opened for Campbell River SAR to respond to a body recovery off the South Island Hwy. ENVIRONMENTS On 25 June, an incident was opened in response to a debris flow in the Village of Cache Creek. On 25 June, an incident was opened in response to a landslide in the Loon Lake area of TNRD (Thompson-Nicola Regional District). On 26 June, an incident was opened for flooding in the Conifryd Lake area in the OSRD (Okanagan-Similkameen Regional District). NATURAL On 25 June, an incident was opened for a storm event in Peachland that caused stability damage to a large tree in the middle of a seniors mobile home park.
