It's great to travel in the spring! Webb Tours is delighted to once again offer our popular getaway to the east coast. We'll fly to Washington DC, and spend three nights in our nation's capitol (including Mt. Vernon). The cherry trees and other spring foliage should be in full blossom. From Washington, we'll travel to Gettysburg, Amish Country, Philadelphia, and into New York City. While in the Big Apple, we'll enjoy up to two Broadway shows (of your choosing) and return to Salt Lake from New York. It is among our most popular tours year after year. We would love to have you join us. Daily Itinerary April 4: Salt Lake to Washington DC. Today we'll board our flight to the Washington DC area. We'll arrive in the late afternoon. Our hotel is in historic Falls Church (8 miles from DC), We'll have a welcome dinner tonight in the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Tour to pay for dinner and flights today. April 5: Washington DC. After breakfast, we'll be joined by a local guide (Gabriela) who will show us the highlights of this magnificent city. Temperatures are pleasant, spring is in the air, and it's a great time to be in Washington D.C. We'll begin with a visit to the new World War II Memorial. The setting is perfect, the feeling is awe-inspiring and the monument itself is stunning. We ll have picture stops at the White House and Capitol. We'll also visit the significant monuments including the Lincoln, Korean and Vietnam Memorials. The most magnificent monuments this time of year are the new FDR Memorial and the Jefferson Memorial. Both sit on the Tidal Basin surrounded by over 3,000 blossoming cherry trees. It's one of those sites you just have to see. We have gone at this time for the past seven years and have seen them at their peak six of those years (though there is no guarantee). After lunch, we'll visit Arlington Cemetery where we'll see the Kennedy graves, witness the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers and the impressive Lee Mansion (if you've seen the cemetery, you can choose from other activities). This evening, we'll turn you loose in the delightful town of Alexandria where you can browse the quaint streets, enjoy dinner and feel the history of one of America's great towns. This is where George Washington spent much of his social time. Tour to pay for light breakfast, Arlington Tourmobile and locally guided tour. April 6: Washington DC. This morning we'll take a beautiful 20 minute drive to Mt. Vernon where we'll spend the morning. This was George Washington's home on the Potomac River which is spectacular in the spring. We'll have a guided tour of the inside of the home and free time to see the gardens, out buildings, tombs of George & Martha and the new education center recently opened with exceptional historical films and displays. Mt. Vernon is one of our nation s greatest treasures especially with all they have recently added. For lunch, we'll eat at one of George Washington's favorite places: Gadsby's Tavern. This is an 18th century tavern where George & Martha Washington shared many occasions. We ll spend the afternoon at the Smithsonian Museums. You choose what is most interesting to you (American History, Air & Space, Natural History or even the Holocaust Museum). We'll return to the hotel for dinner and rest this evening. Tour to pay for light breakfast, lunch and Mt. Vernon. April 7: Washington to York: After breakfast, we'll drive through Georgetown and Embassy Row. We ll make picture stops at the National Cathedral and the stunning LDS Temple that appears to float on the trees. At about 11:00, we'll take a 90 minute ride into Gettysburg, that pivotal battle ground of the Civil War. A BRAND NEW Visitor s Center just opened last year and it is VERY well done. A cemetery guide will board our bus and take us to important battle areas while reviewing the interesting history, followed by time to enjoy the new center and the excellent new film. Our hotel is the Holiday Inn in York. Tour to pay for light breakfast, guide and dinner. April 8: York to Philadelphia. We're right in the heart of Amish Country. The countryside is beautiful with well groomed farms as far as the eye can see. We'll spend time in the town of Bird in Hand. Choose between some shopping time or an interesting production called Jacob s Choice (or do a little of both). We ll have an early buffet lunch at the Family Cupboard (great Amish cooking) followed by a 90 minute drive to Philadelphia. We'll arrive with plenty of time to see the NEW Visitors Center (with an excellent film), the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall where freedom began (and where the Declaration of Independence and Constitution were signed). If time permits,

you can visit the new Constitution Center. Our hotel is the Hampton Inn in the Philadelphia area tonight. Tour to pay for light breakfast and lunch today. April 9: Philadelphia to New York City. After a light breakfast at the hotel, we'll drive toward New York City. It's exciting to see the Skyline as it comes into view. We ll be in Liberty Park on the New Jersey side where we ll board our ferry for a 10 minute ride to Ellis Island and then to the Statue of Liberty. The ferry will then take us to the New York side (Battery Park) where we ll enjoy a short walking tour including Ground Zero, Wall Street, the NYSE, Trinity Church and more (the most historical and interesting places in Manhattan in my opinion). We ll then check into our hotel where you ll have a free evening to enjoy dinner followed by a chance to go to the top of the Empire State Building (transportation provided). Tour to pay for breakfast and ferries today. April 10: New York City. There's much more to see and do. You ll have a free morning to enjoy Times Square, shopping or relaxing. At about 10:00, a local guide will join us to show us the highlights of the city including Central Park, Greenwich Village, Chinatown, Fifth Avenue, Rockefeller Center, Harlem, Times Square and much more. Those interested can opt for a matinee show today instead of the tour. An early dinner is included tonight at the popular Plataforma, a first class restaurant that all our groups love. Afterwards, you ll have a chance to see the Broadway Show of your choosing You tell us which one and we ll arrange it for you (a list will be sent out well in advance). Tour to pay for NYC tour and dinner today. Note: The Broadway shows are OPTIONAL. We will provide you with a list of options and price ranges for the show in New York. You may choose to attend one show, two shows or no shows. You choose the performance and you choose the price range. We'll obtain the tickets. At the time the brochure was printed, the theaters had not confirmed their spring schedules. This will be available in November or December and will be sent to all tour participants. Some of the performances will be: Phantom, Mama Mia, Wicked, Mary Poppins, Jersey Boys, South Pacific, West Side Story and others. Show tickets are not included in the price of the tour, and must be paid for at the time they are ordered. April 11: This morning we'll enjoy a subway ride to Brooklyn where we'll enjoy a one-way stroll on the pedestrian path over the Brooklyn Bridge. Trust me. You ll LOVE this. This affords the BEST views of Manhattan and is a fun way to enjoy the city. We'll then transfer to the airport for our flight to Salt Lake. New York City is, without question, one of the world s great destinations. BUT YOU MUST SEE IT WITH SOMEONE WHO KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING. We have taken groups to New York for over 40 years. We can show it to you in a way that few others can. Tour highlights include: Washington DC: FDR Memorial, World War II Memorial, Lincoln, Vietnam & Korean Memorials, White House and Capital Building (outside only), Arlington National Cemetery, Smithsonian Museums, the National Mall, Old Town Alexandria, Mt. Vernon, Embassy Row, National Cathedral, & LDS Temple (for pictures) and more. PLUS a delightful lunch at Gadspy s Tavern. Gettysburg: Locally guided tour battlefield tour provided by the high school history teacher at Gettysburg High School plus the brand new Visitor s Center that has been open for just a year. Philadelphia: Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, Visitor s Center, Constitution Center, Franklin Place, Betsy Ross Home (outside only) and more. New York City: Up to two Broadway shows of your choosing, Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Brooklyn Bridge stroll. Walking tour that includes Wall Street, Trinity Church, Historic Federal Hall and Ground Zero. Local tour guide will show us Harlem, Central Park, Times Square, Grand Central Station, Fifth Avenue, St. Patrick s Cathedral, LDS Temple and much more. PLUS a delightful dinner at Plataforma in midtown Manhattan Registration, cancellation and insurance information is included with this brochure.

PRE-TOUR EXTENSION FEATURING MONTICELLO, WILLIAMSBURG AND JAMESTOWN! APRIL 1-4, 2012 For those who want to lengthen their tour to enjoy other sites in Virginia, we have the PERFECT 4 day package. We will still fly into Washington DC and then travel south to enjoy these historical gems. Since we are going further south, additional blossoms should be in bloom and this is a wonderful time to be in central Virginia. If you are interested in this pre-tour option, simply mark it on your reservation form. Details are as follows: April 1: Salt Lake City to Washington DC: This morning we meet at the Salt Lake Airport for our flight to the Washington DC area. If the cherry blossoms come a little early, this will give us another chance to peak at them before continuing south. Our hotel tonight is in historic Fredericksburg, Virginia, about 90 minutes south of DC. April 2: Charlottesville to Williamsburg: After breakfast in the hotel, we ll travel an hour to beautiful Charlottesville, Virginia home to Thomas Jefferson s beloved Monticello. It is without question, one of the most beautiful private estates in America. Add to that the significance of Thomas Jefferson and the uniqueness of this man and his inventions, and you have a world class site that is a MUST SEE. We will tour the mansion which was designed and decorated by Jefferson. We will enjoy his grounds and gardens, again designed by him. You ll have time for lunch on your own before we continue our journey across central Virginia into the Williamsburg area where we will stay for two nights. Our route to Williamsburg will take us along the beautiful James River where we can see some of the plantations from the 18 th Century. It is a beautiful area of the country, especially this time of year. We ll stay just outside of Williamsburg tonight. Tour to pay for breakfast and admission to Monticello today. April 3: Williamsburg and Jamestown: Today we ll go back in time. Jamestown is the oldest settlement on the Eastern Seaboard (north of Florida). It was founded by the Virginia Company in 1607 and was the first permanent English settlement in what became the United States. We will begin our day here with a chance to visit the period homes, church and surroundings. It is a living history interpretive site, guides in their period costumes. After enjoying our time there, we ll visit nearby Williamsburg, perhaps our nation s most impressive preservation site. We will spend several hours here and give you a chance to enjoy it thoroughly. This was among our first planned cities and for decades was the center of political, religious, economic and social life in Virginia. It is a very interesting place to visit. Dinner is included for our group tonight. Tour to pay for breakfast, dinner and admissions to Williamsburg and Jamestown. April 4: Williamsburg to Yorktown to Washington DC: This morning after breakfast, we ll spend an hour at Yorktown where the Revolutionary War came to an end. It was here that England s General Cornwallis surrendered to George Washington, ending the War for Independence. It is an interesting place to see. We ll then drive up to Washington DC, stopping for lunch along the way. We ll arrive in time to meet others that are arriving today to begin their tour. Tour to pay for breakfast and Yorktown admission today. Per Person Price of Pre-Tour Extension: Double Occupancy.$495 Triple Occupancy..$475 Quad Occupancy..$450 Single Occupancy..$695 Price of Pre-Tour Extension includes 3 nights lodging, 3 breakfasts, 1 dinner, admissions to Williamsburg, Yorktown and Jamestown. It also includes all transportation and is fully escorted. Airfare is NOT included but is roughly the same price whether you fly into Washington DC on April 1 st or April 4 th.
