Mopars of Brevard, Inc. Super Bee Lines ~APRIL, 2018 MOB website: http://www.moparsofbrevard.com Mail address: POBox 410003, Melbourne, FL 32941-0003 Webmaster: Andy Caldwell President Bob Anderson (321) 258-7935 Board of Directors Pete Stasio 321-480-9265 Vice President Jay Bryan (703) 447-3598 Board of Directors Ray Moyer 321-266-5026 Secretary Jon Warner (321) 635-8581 Board of Directors Frank Parravani 321-541-6678 Treasurer Sharon Bukowski (321) 723-8249 Newsletter Editor Penny Anderson 321-727-1039 Mbership Dir Katie Stasio (321) 794-5042 Sunshine Girl Penny Anderson 321-727-1039 Historian Volunteer Needed (xxx) xxx-xxxx Public Relations Open Sgt.-At-Arm Ed Baranowski (321) 727-2650 FROM THE PRESIDENT S Driveway Please join me in congratulating MOBster Penny Anderson for winning the MOPAR runner-up trophy at The Brevard Public Schools Automotive Programs Inaugural Car Show on March 17. Penny had a lot of competition in the MOPAR class, with top honors going to a 1970 Hemi CUDA convertible. Super Swap XX preparations are progressing normally. There isn t much to do this time of year, so we are taking a well earned rest with plans to begin working the activity in the early part of summertime. The MOB picnic was a huge success. We had great fun preparing the pavilion in the morning. MOBsters began arriving at about 10 a.m. I went down to Me-Maws at 12:00 to pick up the meats and we began serving lunch at 1 p.m. We were all guilty of eating way too much and there were still tons of goodies left over. We played games until after 4 p.m. A great time was had by all. The next Marco s Pizza dinner cruise will be on April 26. All MOBsters are encouraged to attend and enjoy the social time and also the great pizza. This past month of March was not a good one for the dinner cruise as only 14 MOBsters attended. We usually have more than 20. Anyhow, it was probably my fault because I forgot to send out my Page 1 of 10 usual e-mail reminding all MOBsters about the cruise. I will try really hard to not forget this month. The March Five-Guys cruise-in was a good one. We had lots of cars and gorgeous weather. The next cruise-in is scheduled for April 19. If the weather cooperates, we should have a lot full of cool rides. Please come out and support this great charity event. Drive Safe, President Bob NEXT CLUB MEETING IS SCHEDULED FOR APRIL 11TH AT MEMAWS IN PALM BAY 4916 BABCOCK ST.N.E. PALM BAY 7 p.m. (Join us, if you wish, for a delicious meal at 6 p.m.)

See you there!! Linda & Bill Deller 27th NOTE: This recipe works with any canned fruit. ENJOY!! Frog at the Fortune Teller A frog goes to a fortune teller to find out if he will ever be lucky in love. The fortune teller reads his palm and tells the frog, I have good news and I have bad news. Which would you like to hear first? The frog asks for the good news first. The fortune teller says, You are going to meet the most beautiful girl, who is going to be very interested in you and will want to know all about you. She will want you to open up for her and you will give her your heart. That s great! says the frog. But what s the bad news? Well, you re going to meet her in Biology class. A FEW OLD SAYINGS.. HOW THEY CAME ABOUT Over A Barrel In the days before CPR a drowning victim would be placed face down over a barrel and the barrel would be rolled back and forth in an effort to empty the lungs of water. It was rarely effective. If you are over a barrel you are in deep trouble. Hogwash Steamboats carried both people and animals. Since pigs smelled so bad they would be washed before being put on board. The mud and other filth that was washed off was considered useless hogwash. Page 2 of 10

PAST SHOWS The Brevard Public Schools Automotive Programs Inaugural Car Show, March 17, Melbourne A sunny and cool day welcomed many makes and models of cars and trucks to support the automotive programs hosted by various high schools in Brevard County. The Muscle Car Museum off Sarno Road was the location for the event. DJ John Pappademetriou belted out the oldies, announced door prize winners and also was instrumental in recognizing the on goings of the show. Vendors were on hand along with some schools showing and telling of the automotive program within their school. Those attending from the MOB were Joe Botti, Glen Rubar, Ray & Rachel Moyer and Bob and myself. What was an interesting part of the show were the trophies; all were made by the students themselves using automotive parts. (Cogs, washers, pistons, rods, etc.) Awards were presented in several classes. Each class had a 1 st place and runner up. (Judging was done by the students themselves). 1 st place in the Mopar class went to a 1970 Hemi Cuda Convertible. (Beautiful car.) Runner Up went to a 1966 Dodge Charger owned by none other than myself. (Thank You to the students!) Fellowship with other classic car owners, New and older models alike, made for a good time while supporting area students in their automotive program and/or endeavors. MOB Annual Spring Picnic, March 18, Wickham Park, Melbourne Sunny skies and those March winds brought cool and comfortable weather for the MOB s Annual Spring Picnic this year. Many MOBsters came together, along with welcomed guests, to supply delicious dishes for a feast that left no one hungry. This year, as in the past, MeMaw s of Palm Bay furnished the meat supply. (Ribs, sliced turkey and pulled pork.) After the meal, activities were available for those wanting to try their skill (luck) at tossing either a bean bag or spark plug. Winning or losing..the games were entertaining and just plain fun. Ready for next year! Enjoy the pics. Page 4 of 10
