Coal is sent south from Leigh Creek by rail to the huge ort Augusta power stations, which supply much of South Australia s electricity. A lookout on the access road to the coalfield provides a spectacular view of the massive open cut mine. COLEY Originally a rail town, Copley is a popular watering hole for locals from nearby Leigh Creek and travellers heading to Arkaroola in the Flinders anges. INTS OF INTEEST The Flinders anges, in their present form, show the tremendous erosion which has taken place over countless years leaving a hard crystalline surface rich in metallic ores.
