Introduction This two-week long Summer School aims to welcome students from different parts of the world, especially from our partner institutions, to give them an overview of UK/Scottish education and life. It will also be an opportunity to experience Scottish hospitality. The programme is designed for students from a variety of academic backgrounds, for whom English is not their first language. Students will study project management supported by English Language classes.
Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park Inveraray on Loch Fyne Eilean Donan Castle by Kyle of Lochalsh Isle of Arran in the Firth of Clyde The Summer School programme aims to develop students abilities to work as part of a team by combining classroom based project work with outdoor activities. Participants will have ample opportunities to enjoy Scotland's picturesque scenery, including a visit to a Scottish island and Scotland s largest city, Glasgow and its capital, Edinburgh. Participants will also be given the opportunity to visit a traditional Scottish industry as well as a modern company dealing in the new and emerging area of renewable energy.

Staff and UWS Student Support The leadership of the Summer School will be under the direction of various staff and lecturers from the School of Engineering and Computing at University of the West of Scotland (UWS). They have extensive experience in running previous Summer Schools at UWS and at other institutions. In addition, it is expected that some existing students from UWS will be involved in the Summer School to broaden the experience of these students and to allow the Summer School participants to meet people their own age. Fee The Summer School includes all tuition fees, accommodation and additional social activities for a cost of 1500. We re offering a 5% early bird discount for bookings made before 27th April 2018. Yes, if you are from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland, you can apply for a short-term study visa. Make sure you check the immigration requirements before applying (visit www.gov.uk/study-visit-visa for more details). You will receive a confirmation of booking and you should carry this confirmation with you when travelling. You can apply for a visa up to three months before your date of travel to the UK. You should get a decision on your visa within three weeks. Do I need a confirmation letter to obtain my visa? You will need to attach an offer letter to your visa application. The offer letter is a Booking Complete email, which is sent to you once you have booked and made full payment for the Summer School.
