Catamaran Snorkeling Date of Cruise Apr, 2018 Comments Organized, fun and too short. The staff was awesome. Club Cozumel Caribe Date of Cruise Apr, 2018 Duration (approx) 2 hrs Would recommend to other Special Needs Families? No Comments Nice pool, good restaurant and tequila tasting but again extremely pricey considering NOTHING is included. I spent $30 for the excursion and another 40 on food and drinks, for $60 we could have went to playa mia which had a waterpark and is all inclusive Club Cozumel Caribe Date of Cruise Mar, 2018 Comments Nice if the children (or adult) on the autism spectrum likes the beach; make sure to use beach/river shoes due to some rocks. Beaches at Cozumel Date of Cruise Dec, 2017 Comments It was great. The beach was perfect for our family, the staff was accomodating. Autism on the Seas Beach Party Excursion Date of Cruise Dec, 2017 Duration (approx) 4 hours approx from leaving the Ship. Comments We only went on your excursion which was totally organised for the special needs families booked through Autism on the Seas. It was an ideal beach excursion for the children to enjoy fun pool time with Team Orange including our 1-1 helper Johanna who was ideal for the job and who was great with our child. All the Team really put in lots of effort to make the excursion fun for the children and spent a good 2 hours just playing with them on the beach and in the pool whilst we relaxed on the beach. Sandy, our group leader and Chris, assistant, ably took care of organising transport and anything that needed organising and were ver:y helpful making the whole experience very relaxed and easy for us. Resort Date of Cruise Dec, 2017
Comments Lovely day with the family and autism group. The facility was beautiful and food was delicious. Push/pull dolphin swim with lunch & drinks CAR Date of Cruise Oct, 2017 Duration (approx) 3.5 hrs Comments We did the excursion by ourselves, the staff at the dolphin swim definitely tried, but my son did not want anything to do with the dolphin. BEACH Date of Cruise Aug, 2017 Comments THIS WAS THE AOTS EXCURSION. APPRECAITED THEM ESCORTING US TO THE RESORT./BEACH Cozumel by Land and Sea CAR Date of Cruise Jul, 2017 Comments We enjoyed the underwater view from the boat more than we did the Atlantis submarine we did last year in Cozumel. It was also much roomier. The land tour was nice, but the value of the shopping place we stopped wasn't good. We didn't need any special accommodation, but the crew were very friendly. dolphin discovery CAR Date of Cruise Jul, 2017 Comments we swam with dolphins and manatees, snorkeled and enjoyed the pool. The staff provided an extra person (lifeguard) in the water with my son for the dolphin swim. With that extra help he was able to do all the same activities we did with the dolphins. He had a great time! Cozumel Beach Excursion Date of Cruise Jul, 2017 Comments This was arranged by AotS. The resort had basic clean amenties and it was secure. The food was good - though a tad expensive. The beach was nice but rocky. Better for snorkeling and swimming but not so much for just relaxing. Discovery Park Date of Cruise Apr, 2017
Duration (approx) 2 Comments Short taxi ride to Discovery Park. Very nice and new facility. Tour included presentation. About Mexican history and culture. Then tour of miniature ruins, which was impressive. The group was small and there were no problems. They were very accommodating. Paradise Beach Date of Cruise Mar, 2017 Duration (approx) Varies Comments Pay as you go resort with pools, kayaking, paddle boarding and water slides, trampolines, etc. Rather than take a bus, you can take your own taxi to the resort. It's about a 10 minute ride and costs $35US. You can either pay $3 to get in and just access the pool and beach area or pay $18 and have unlimited access to the water activities like kayaking, slides, etc. All food and drink is extra. The shallow areas of the pools are small and not clearly marked and the beach area gets deep pretty quickly. All of the paid water activities must be swum out to. Life jackets are available for use, you just have to give them your license. Club Cozumel Caribe Date of Cruise Mar, 2017 Comments The Club could have done a better job of clearing out the seaweed, as the kids hated it. Who doesn't! The parrot is a must try. I got a kiss from both the parrot and our son at the same time! Chanknaub Beach Date of Cruise Feb, 2017 Comments Quite, relaxing, shaded areas available. Handicap bathrooms. Passion Beach N/A Date of Cruise N/A Comments One hour boat ride to a private island, 3 hours on the beach with activities, lunch, beverages, then a one hour boat ride back to the ship. We didn't encounter any negative issues, it was a fun day. Dolphin w Lunch included-dolphinaris Date of Cruise Oct, 2016 Duration (approx) 3.5 hrs - 40 mins with Dolphin Comments Trainer was great with my son. She decided to give my son a one on one with the dolphins and separated us from the group. The trainer was patient and focused on my son's interaction with the dolphins.
Dolphin Push and Pull Date of Cruise Oct, 2016 Comments My son is high functioning. I pictured this to be something where we all were close together so we could give him prompts and reassure him. They had him go out into the sea by himself (with a life jacket). He was safe but he didn't feel safe since we re not there by him. Then the dolphin swims out to you and brings you back. He did great but we were yelling across the ocean. "It's okay." "You can do it." Once he did it he was really proud of himself. I could just see how this might be a problem. The experience was awesome though and will be unforgettable. Club Cozumel Caribe Date of Cruise Jul, 2016 Duration (approx) Comments This is an excursion that you can stay for minutes or hours. When you get there you have the option for swimming pool, beach, tequilla tour, and snorkeling. They also have a restaurant at the swimming pool, jet skis and a soveniur shop all at a reasonable price. The staff here is VERY relaxed, fun and make sure you dont need anything Cozumel Island Overview/ Mayan Ruins Date of Cruise Jun, 2016 Comments It required some standing in the heat, riding a city/tour bus, a bit of walking in the heat, and standing around to listen to a tour guide. Our 7 yr old ASD child was able to handle it pretty well. There were a few times he wanted to start talking loudly over the tour guide and I would have to walk him away from the group. We had about 30 people in that group. Overall, I thought it was a very "safe" excursion for our family and worked out well for us. Dolphin Push, Pull, Swim, with Manatee Encounter Date of Cruise Jun 2016 Comments The dolphin trainers were amazing with both of our kids. They got in the water to help them when they were struggling to stay on the boogie board. They were also very patient when my kids needed extra time to follow the directions being given. The Manatee encounter was ok. It was short and the manatee passed by you 3-4 times and you got to put your hands on it. I could have skipped it, but it was included with the dolphin, push, pull, and swim. Once we were done, we did not look at the pictures taken since we had heard the prices are ridiculous. They do allow spectators to take pictures, but it is from far away. If you know this going in, then the trip is very enjoyable. The transportation was great! When you are done and ready to leave, the guide puts you in a cab and you are driven back to the ship. There are no huge tour busses to deal with! AOTS Beach Excursion - Club Caribe Date of Cruise Apr, 2016
Comments The AOTS group beach excursion to Club Caribe in Cozumel was my favorite excursion of the trip. The club are is perfect, small and quaint with plenty of shaded seating, a pool, a restaurant, clean bathrooms and great service. My husband and I so enjoyed the chance to sit on the beach and relax while AOTS staff entertained the kids. I definitely recommend this excursion to anyone. Group beach time Date of Cruise Mar, 2016 Comments Wonderful to go early in the morning before the crowds and the heat. Contained area without feeling closed in!! More rocks than I expected, wear water shoes if you have them!! Club Caribe Date of Cruise Jan, 2016 Comments The club has both the beach and a pool which really worked out well for us since my son doesn't really like the beach. Staff was always alert and very accommodating. I would definitely recommend this excursion. Jaguar Bus, Bike and Beach Adventure Date of Cruise Nov, 2015 Comments The bikes are regular tandem bikes. My autistic son does bike ride. He enjoyed the bumpy dirt road! (You can stay in the truck) The instructor took him out on the paddle-board so we could rest in the beach chairs provided. Small group and secluded beach was nice to rest and eat taco lunch, and get away from the crowds. It was not for swimming. Lots of seaweed. My son also enjoyed the swings at the lighthouse and the hammocks on the beach! Club Cozumel Caribe Date of Cruise Oct, 2015 Duration (approx) 2.5 hrs Comments The experience was amazing! We did the excursion with the AOTS staff. The beach was immaculate. The staff was there for us. I will definitely go back there. Beach Date of Cruise Jun 2015 Comments Wonderful. Time perfect and beach enjoyable. Shuttle service excellent.
Club Caribe Date of Cruise Apr 2015 Duration (approx) Comments The best time of our lives. There is a pool, amazing beach, restaurant, and tequila tour. The tour, beach, and pool are all free. They have waterskies to rent, snorkeling is free and you get to see some beautiful fish. Restaurant is amazingly good We asked for a grill cheese, they didn't know what that was but our AOTS staff explained it to them and they made it for my son Club Caribe Date of Cruise Mar 2015 Duration (approx) 4hrs Comments Great experience. We took a taxi and paid $15 entry fee each and it included snorkel gear at Club Caribe. This excursion was suggested by AOTS. Clean environment. Outdoor shower. Clean and beautiful pool. Dolphin Push Pull Swim Date of Cruise Jul 2015 Comments Wonderful! We had advised the excursion desk on the boat about our son and they emailed the facility. The trainer we worked with was great and they had someone there to help our son ride the dolphin. Very cool! Chankanaab Park Date of Cruise Feb, 2014 Comments Sea Lion Show, Dolphin Show, swimming pools, beaches and great snorkeling Definitely a great place to visit. There were other families there with older children with autism. Very open and friendly Cozumel Club Caribe Date of Cruise Jul 2014 Duration (approx) Flexible Comments Completely relaxing with beach, pool and snorkeling included. Restaurant on the premesis was excellent. Hotel slow paced until about noon. Dolphin Encounter Date of Cruise Jul 2014
Comments Great Dolphin Push Pull Swim Date of Cruise Jul 2014 Comments If you go there, tell them your child has autism (Autismo in Spanish) and they will tell the dolphin instructor. It was amazing and the staff there was excellent Playa Azul Date of Cruise Aug 2012 Comments A very quiet beach resort for families, a playground, beach pool, food, bathrooms, Not a party beach, very quiet Dolphin Encounter and Beach at Chakanaab Date of Cruise April 2012 Would recommend to other Special Needs Families? No Comments Too overwhelming for Adriana. The beach area was way too rocky to swim. Would not do again. ATV / Beach Comments No special accommodations. Cozumel Date of Cruise Dec, 2010 Comments We booked a "day pass" at a resort in Cozumel. It was perfect, we made our own schedule, came and went as we pleased, pool was heated, beautiful beach, poolside food service, etc. Cost was $220 with $20 in cab fares which was about the cost of most excursions Chankanaab Park Date of Cruise Dec, 2010 Comments We took a taxi on our own to the park. We really didn t need accommodations since we snorkeled from the park, and my son can snorkel
Dune Buggy Snorkel Date of Cruise April 2009 Comments This one was our favorite and worked out well for the boy. The guide (Pancho) was patient and accommodating and he got to snorkel...sort of. You need to know how to drive a manual transmission, which they don't tell you in the brochure. Good Mexican buffet meal. Chankanaab Date of Cruise April 2009 Comments Perfect for our son. It had a swimming pool for him and a beach for us. Come and go as you please by taxi.
Hertz Jeep Rental Date of Cruise Nov 2008 Comments We got off the ship and did some shopping. We rented a jeep and took a trip over to the light house, beach, and to see the crocodiles. Plus, checked out the rest of the island. This way was cheaper than the tours. Horseback Riding To Mayan Ruin Duration (approx) 2 hrs Comments It was great but had i known it was such a long ride I wouldn t have booked it only because of the kids and they couldn t handle the long ride very well. but he people were very nice and accommodating. just know its at least 2 hours in hot sun and take lots of water with you and sun screen. Jeep And Tequila Tour Around Island Duration (approx) 4 Hrs Comments This tour was excellent. The tour guides were knowledgeable and accommodating. Even making sure we got a four door air-conditioned jeep. The drive was leisurely. Our family of four drove our own. We stopped at beautiful places and a very nice restaurant, all of which was crowd free. Even the Tequila farm was educational and a lot of Fu. For my wife and I while being open and quiet. Mayan Ruins And Beach Break Date of Cruise Dec, 2010 Would recommend to other Special Needs Families? No Mr. Sanchos Date of Cruise Mar 2014 Duration (approx) 4-5 Hrs Comments No real support for ASD kids, but friendly staff and a nice beach
Playa Maya Beach Day Date of Cruise Mar 2012 Duration (approx) 6 hrs Comments This excursion is completely open to your timing which is extremely important to me as a parent. It was a private taxi ride to the beach resort and we spent as much time or little at the beach as we desired. The benefit to this beach resort is that it is extremely family friendly (lots of kids activities) drinks are included in the cheaper option, lunch included with the deluxe version (I knew my kiddo wouldn't eat, so we booked the drinks only). Tons of activities that are included such as water trampolines/slides, kayaks, and peddle boats. Plenty of beach loungers and umbrellas available. Also an amazing chlorine pool with a swim up bar. The pool was a nice break from the ocean and sand and kept my little adhd distracted guy busy with pool to beach options throughout the day. Lots of shaded areas available as well and a playground. Now for the best part. Both myself and my mother were able to get beachside massages. We took turns getting massages and watching my son, but let me just say that the 40 min massages we got were BY FAR better than the boat's spa! And when they say 40 min, you get a full 40 mins. It was $55 for a full massage and I left a $5 tip...that compared to my $200 massage on the cruise, I'd wait and get this massage any day... ;-) They will accommodate as long of a massage as you'd like and I HIGHLY recommend this option! Playa Maya Deluxe Beach Comments Excursion was to the Playa Maya Beach, including all water sports such as parasailing, kayaking, paddle boating, jet skiing. Included lunch buffet - food wasn't very good, however. Also included pool to swim in and playground to play on. Transportation included. Beach included chairs and umbrellas. Water was good but VERY rocky. Need to wear water shoes into water. Playa Mia Grand Beach & Water Park Date of Cruise Mar 2014 Comments I would recommend this to parents of children with ASD. The staff was very accommodating once I explained Deven's limitations. Also the cost to get to the resort and the cost to get into the resort was very reasonable. The price included all resort activities including water slides, beach access, kayaking, paddle boating, and sailing. The price also included unlimited food and drinks. Sea Turtles Date of Cruise April 2009 Comments Great.
Shopping Walking Tour Date of Cruise Dec, 2010 Duration (approx) 2 hrs Comments They did not know our child had special needs-we just tried to enjoy it along with everyone else-- we did lots of walking outdoors and our son likes that Swim with the Dolphins Duration (approx) 2-3 hrs Comments staff was very accommodating Swim with the Dolphins Comments it was wonderful and all the kids really enjoyed themselves Swim with the Dolphins Duration (approx) 2.5 hrs Comments We believe you did a wonderful job accommodating everyone on this cruise with the best dolphin experience, Disappointed when we arrived home and saw a video of children and adults on the dolphin swim after we were told NO cameras allowed and only a certain group had pictures to show of their swim with the dolphins. How Disappointed other families were when they saw the video and their child was not in it. Swim with the Dolphins Comments My son loves the dolphins, the only problem was the waiting period. Yes, it is hard to make things go fast, but maybe, maybe, a suggestion. To have a short attraction, in between to keep the kiddos busy. I don't know, it's just a thought
Swim with Dolphins Duration (approx) 2 hrs Comments It was great!!! Swim with the Dolphins Duration (approx).75 hrs Comments It was a very nice experience for my 12 year old son. He did as much as he could. He could not handle the swimming but the kissing and touching the dolphins was enough for him. I would highly recommend this adventure to any parent. The instructors were very careful with our children and kept trying until the children participated in the adventure. Taxi Shopping District And Paradise Beach Date of Cruise April 2009 Comments Taxi fare was reasonable, shopping was hard on Autistic child as every shop was jewelry so they got bored very quickly but there were enough trinket shops to ease that. Beach was rather small but we thoroughly enjoyed tanning and son enjoyed renting a mask for under water swimming. Tulum Express Date of Cruise Dec, 2011 Duration (approx) 7.5 hrs Comments It was important for us to share the history of the Mayan people with our family. It was hot, but we brought umbrellas and lots of cold water. The ride on the tender was especially rough! Twister Date of Cruise Jun 2011 Duration (approx) 1.5 Hrs Comments Fun ride on sport boat to private island beach. Staff (twister boat not carnival) was helpful. Excursion was perfect for our family.
Xcaret Date of Cruise July 2010 Comments Great except expensive. X-Rails With Wild Tours Date of Cruise Nov 2008 Comments (They do book through other lines) They were awesome and they did not know my son had autism. They knew he was scared and provided lots of encouragement. They allowed him to pace in circles and were quite accommodating. When he did not want to swim or go near the cave, they hung out with him and helped him hunt for turtles and iguanas. They took lots of pictures with him and were cool with him just being him. The only concern is this is off road so is very bumpy. You ride for about 30 minutes each way in the buggy and I do not know if there is a way to turn back if they do not like it. Jeep Rental Date of Cruise Dec, 2010 Comments We rented a Jeep in Cozumel and travelled the island on our own. One of the best days of my life!
