Location: International School of Denver 206 Red Cross Way, Denver, CO 80230 (Lowry) Dates: June 18 - August 3 Hours: Ages*: Cost: General Information 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM: Camp 3:30-5:30 PM: Extended Day Workshops at no additional cost! 3-14 (Camp/Extended Day Workshops) *Children attending any 5-and-up camp must turn 5 by the start of that week s camp. All children must be potty-trained. $325/week, unless otherwise noted ISDenver Summer Camps run all summer, with camp themes changing weekly. Participants may sign up for the entire summer or pick and choose individual weeks. There are two types of camps offered at ISDenver - Language and Variety/ Sports. For Language camps, participants will first choose the camp theme, then choose the camp language (French, Mandarin or Spanish). All Variety/ Sports camps are presented in English. Each camp includes hands-on activities and a weekly field trip that complement the camp theme. Extended Day Workshops Ages 3-14. After 3:30 PM, students will transition to Extended Day Workshops at no additional cost, where students ages 5+ will go swimming at Cook Park (weather permitting) or participate in age-appropriate activities until parent pick-up. After 5:30 PM, late pickup is an automatic flat fee of $5, and $1 per additional minute due in cash or check at time of pickup. How to Register Visit isdenver.org/camps, click Register. All emergency contact information must be submitted online at the time of registration. Immunization and health appraisal paperwork MUST be submitted one week prior to start of camp. Camp Week(s) Get ready to have a blast! Bring your camper to the marked check-in tables located at the south campus entrance (gates will be opened at 8:30 AM) in the morning. Please pack your camper lunch, two snacks, a water bottle and hat daily; Rocky Mountain Sunscreen is provided for all campers. Camp Theme Descriptions AGES 3-4 Listed in week order STEM for the Summer: Campers will stimulate their curiosity and develop 21 st century learning skills while engaging in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics activities themed around summer fun! Build It! ($350): Kids will build a foundation for engineering with LEGO Duplo! They will create Airplanes, Drawbridges, Seesaws, Windmills, Cranes, and other fun projects for pre-k builders. They will also learn about shapes, colors, patterns, and counting while playing with their creations. Seed Science: Campers will grow their minds while learning all about the wonderful world of plants! They will explore plant life cycles, learn about native plants from countries associated with their target language and even create their own countertop garden to take home! Gymnastics with Katie ($350): Cartwheels, handstands, balance beam, hula hoops, rhythm ribbons, and much more! Gymnastics camp with Katie brings high-energy relays, games, and skills to campers at any level of fitness. During this camp, campers will stay active while developing body awareness through skills designed to target large motor coordination, emphasizing teamwork and personal growth. associated with their target language, exploring the lifestyle of people in different regions and making stops at important cultural landmarks and interesting sites. Soccer ($350): ISDenvers s littlest soccer league will have some fun on the field as kids learn to shoot, pass, and play on a team! inventors. This camp consists of four modules spread over two weeks Families may choose to register for both weeks, or just for one of the weeks. Once Upon A Time: Campers will explore fairy tales new and familiar, with an emphasis on stories from the traditions of their target language! Throughout the week they will engage with these stories through books, storytelling, reader s theater and more! Creation Station: Campers will expand their imaginations, practice their design skills, express their creativity, and discover their identity as makers while engaging in a mix of design challenges and unstructured creative opportunities. Ninja Warrior: Little campers will have a blast taking on physical challenges, learning about ninjas, and designing their own ninja warrior course. Road Trip!: Campers will take a road trip through the country/ies Amazing Oceans: Campers dive into a week long project-based learning unit themed around ocean exploration, animals, plants, habitats and conservation! Playground (Parts I and II) ($350): It s never too early to start inventing! Playground from the National Inventors Hall of Fame puts preschool campers on the road to creativity with fun and engaging educational programs. Kids will play and learn about STEM concepts, and discover the world around them by learning about other famous World Travelers: Campers will take on the role of world travelers, grow their curiosity about the world and get their passports stamped as they explore the traditions, music and cultures of different countries each day. Mini-Tennis: Campers will be introduced to the basics of tennis in this camp (forehand, backhand, serve, and volley), and practice their skills through fun games and drills.
AGES 5-8 Listed in week order All About Art!: Campers will channel the artist within as they engage in a week-long project-based learning unit exploring different artistic mediums, famous artists, and artistic traditions associated both with their target language and the world at large. Hula Hooping, Circus Arts and Yoga with Mad About Hoops ($350): Looking to keep your kid entertained this summer, all while getting exercise and having fun? This camp is perfect for your family! Campers will start class by acquiring cool hoop tricks, partner hooping and playing fun games. Afterwards, the kids will dive into circus arts, where your little one will learn everything from juggling to tight rope walking! The last portion of day is all about yoga. Your children will master yoga poses and flow, all while cultivating breath work that can be used in and outside the classroom. Architecture: Campers will engage in a project-based learning unit exploring the past, present and future of architecture, including an examination of architectural traditions of countries associated with their target language. The project culminates with a design challenge, and parents will be invited to a showcase on Friday afternoon. Tennis ($350): Learning the basics of serves and swings, campers will learn to love tennis through engaging drills and practice with tennis pros at Meadow Creek Tennis club. Olympic Spirit: Campers will dive into in a week-long project-based learning unit exploring the history of the Olympics, the lives of famous Olympians, and what it takes to be an Olympic athlete. They will even represent countries associated with their target language while competing in the ISDenver Olympics! Creative Writing: Campers will enjoy a supportive learning environment designed to inspire the creation of stories, poetry, and plays, along with writing for pleasure. Instructors will help campers discover the joys of writing and the pride of authorship. This camp will consist of a half day of creative writing and a half day of student choice breakout sessions including physical activity, creative activities, and academic activities. Flora & Fauna: Campers will engage in a week-long project-based learning unit exploring the plants and animals native to Colorado, and to the countries associated with their target language. They will take on the role of conservationists and examine how humans can take action to repair and preserve these important ecosystems. Soccer ($350): Campers hit the field with passing, dribbling and shooting drills, before playing real games. Whether new to the game or sharpening skills, our campers have a great time learning and playing as a team! This camp will consist of a half day of soccer and a half day of student choice breakout sessions including physical activity, creative activities, and Space Camp: Blast off! Campers will engage in a week-long projectbased learning unit exploring outer space and the wonders of the universe! Taking on the roles of astronauts and engineers, they will examine the past and present of space travel while imagining the possibilities of the future. Camp ($350): Camp from the National Inventors Hall of Fame is a unique camp where children s creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills are challenged and developed in fun and exciting ways. Its top priority is to inspire future innovators and build their confidence in the natural ability to dream and create. Children are presented with fun, hands-on challenges that encourage creative problem solving, teamwork, entrepreneurship, and innovation. They will create a variety of takehome projects, including their own robotic dog! World Fair: Campers will engage in a week-long projectbased learning unit exploring the economies, innovations, and industries of countries associated with their target language. They will create products representing the different countries, and the week will culminate with a World Fair where the language programs will come together to exhibit their learning, participate in trade, and experience the exchange of currencies. Intro to STEM ($350): Give your kids imagination a boost with tens of thousands of LEGO parts! Campers will build engineerdesigned projects such as: Cities, Garbage Trucks, Catamarans, and Dinosaurs. They will design and build as never before, and explore their craziest ideas in a supportive environment. This camp will consist of a half day of Intro to STEM and a
half day of student choice breakout sessions including physical activity, creative activities, and academic activities. Treasure Island: Campers will engage in a week-long project-based learning unit exploring legends of buried treasure, real-life shipwrecks, and tales of swashbuckling pirates from around the world! Herb on Hoops ($350): Campers will take it to the hoop with a week of interactive drills focusing on the fundamentals of basketball, including dribbling, passing, shooting, offense, defense, and more! AGES 8-10 Listed in week order ISDenver Comic-Con: Campers will create their own comic book filled with superheroes and villains! They will also learn about the history of comics, create fan art, participate in cosplay, and exhibit at their own Comic-Con on Friday! This camp will consist of a half day of Comic-Con, and a half day of student choice breakout sessions including physical activity, creative activities, and TetraBrazil Soccer ($350): The TetraBrazil Academy provides campers with authentic Brazilian coaching right here in Denver. The curriculum has been designed by professional coaches to provide players with the same expert level of training received by professional clubs in Brazil. Chess: Campers will enjoy challenging chess lessons, exciting games, and cool prizes! They will improve their chess skills, meet new friends, and work out their most powerful muscle: the brain! Each camper receives a T-shirt, trophy, and puzzle folder. Our interactive curriculum makes learning fun for new and seasoned players alike! This camp will consist of a half day of chess and a half day of student choice breakout sessions including physical activity, creative activities, and Tennis ($350): Learning the basics of serving and volleys, campers with learn to love tennis through engaging drills and practice with tennis pros at Meadow Creek Tennis Club! Drones & Robotics: Let s get programming! In this camp, kids will learn about the science behind drones and robots. They will have a chance to program and fly drones, and solve complex problems with the Sphero Sprk+ robots. This camp will consist of a half day of drones and robotics, and a half day of student choice breakout sessions including physical activity, creative activities, and Herb on Hoops ($350): Campers will take it to the hoop with a week of interactive drills focusing on the fundamentals of basketball, including dribbling, passing, shooting, offense, defense, and more! STEM Challenge: Campers gear up their engineering skills with Play-Well TEKnologies and tens of thousands of LEGO parts! They will apply real-world concepts in physics, engineering, and architecture through engineer-designed projects such as: Forklifts, Houseboats, Mini Golf Courses, and the London Tower Bridge Design. Kids will build as never before, and explore their craziest ideas in a supportive environment. This camp will consist of a half day of STEM Challenge, and a half day of student choice breakout sessions including physical activity, creative activities, and Soccer ($350): Players hit the field with passing, dribbling and shooting drills, all leading up to a big game. Whether new to the game or sharpening skills, soccer camp puts kids in the action! Camp : Camp from the National Inventors Hall of Fame is a unique camp where campers creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills are challenged and developed in fun and exciting ways. Fencing ($350): During this fun filled week, instructors from Cheyenne Fencing Society & Modern Pentathlon Center of Denver will teach students to handle an epee sword, just for fun or to enter fencing competitions. Lead by three-time Olympian Elaine Cheris, children will explore their hero-pirate-warrior fantasies as they block, parry and attack their way through lessons. They will focus on conditioning, footwork, drills and bouting, while developing discipline and improving their self-esteem and physical fitness. This camp will consist of a half day of fencing and a half day of student choice breakout sessions including physical activity, creative activities, and
Farm to Table: Get ready for a week of culinary curiosity! Campers will engage in a week-long project-based learning unit exploring nutrition, food sourcing, recipe creation and basic cooking skills. This camp will consist of a half day of Farm to Table, and a half day of student choice breakout sessions including physical activity, creative activities, and academic activities. Rugby ($350): In this co-ed noncontact rookie rugby camp, campers practice and play a form of flag rugby- a fun, safe, team game that develops a range of ball handling, running and evasion skills. Students will enjoy a fun, challenging week with hand-picked rugby coaches from the UK, Australia and New Zealand. Each camper will receive a high quality Challenger rugby ball and a Rugby Camp T-shirt. This camp will consist of a half day of rugby and a half day of student choice break out sessions including physical activity, creative activities, and Animation & Minecraft Incrediflix: Campers bring their world to life with stop-motion animation! In the mornings, they will use anything from Play-Doh to toy cars to create a new stop-motion films each day. In the afternoons, they will bring characters to life with Minecraft Stop-Motion Flix. Golf ($350): This program from ExperienceGolf is designed for juniors of all ability levels, and focuses on helping campers discover and improve the basic FUNdamentals that are required to enjoy a lifelong appreciation of the golf. Kids will learn golf techniques, basic rules, etiquette, and further develop social skills. They will spend a significant amount of time on the Kid s Course and explore how to apply the lessons they learn from a hole-out perspective. Games and competitions will support the learning in a fun and safe environment. AGES 10-14 Listed in week order TetraBrazil Soccer ($350): The TetraBrazil Academy provides players with authentic Brazilian coaching right here in Denver. The curriculum has been designed by professional coaches to provide players with the same expert level of training received by professional clubs in Brazil. 5 Day Adventure in Estes Park ($620): Campers will enjoy the great outdoors in this beautiful mountain town. They will stay at the YMCA lodge and participate in activities such as rafting, horseback riding, and rock climbing! LEGO Mindstorm: LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 gives kids the power to create and command their own robotic LEGO creatures, vehicles, machines and inventions! By combining LEGO elements with a programmable brick, motors, and sensors, campers will make their creations walk, talk, grab, think, shoot, and do almost anything imaginable! This camp will consist of a half day of LEGO Mindstorm, and a half day of student choice breakout sessions including physical activity, creative activities, and Action & Imagination Incrediflix ($350): It s a full day of green screen movie making! In the mornings, campers will use a green screen, camera tricks, and special FX to create an action-packed live-action adventure movie! In the afternoons, they will create clay characters and bring them to life with a green screen and stop-motion animation. Project (Parts I and II) ($350): Project is a unique opportunity for middle schoolers to transform their ideas into real-life inventions. Campers will go through the complete invention life cycle with the help of locally licensed teachers and a program written by the National Inventors Hall of Fame. This camp includes of 10 modules spread over two weeks. Families may choose to register for both weeks, or just for one of the weeks.
