Welcome to the April - May edition of Holden Torque Newsletter. Since our last newsletter your club has held a number of events. The Saint Valentines Cruise followed by a Hamburger night at Jim and Vene Fitzgerald s home was a very well organised and well attended event. I am sure those who attended were very impressed at how a normally productive and manly shed could be transformed into a pink and red palace of romance. Well done and thanks to Jim and Vene who went to so much trouble to create a perfect evening. This year our annual Long Weekend away to Busselton in my opinion was an outstanding success. We changed our accommodation to the more central, and far cleaner Paradise Motel. Thanks to Len Douglas for recommending and organising the weekend, a lot of work goes into these weekends and we are grateful that some members take it upon themselves to do the work required. The destination for the Dennis Klarich Memorial run this year was Mitch Vickers collection of Holden Premiers on Pinjarra Road Furnisdale. A number of clubs attended the event and the proceeds from the Sausage sizzle and entrance fee were donated to Camp Quality. All Aussie Car in day Waroona was held on the 11 th of April. Despite some early morning showers which may have discouraged many people from attending, the day turned out to be fine and sunny. Congratulations to Milan Klarich for winning a trophy, and thanks to those who helped organise the day. Many other events coming up, so please read the events calendar and make an effort to come along, we would like to see you there. As always if you wish to discuss and issue relating to our club, please feel free to contact me on 0419 476 954.

General Business A proposal for a new system of determining Club Person of the Year Award was put to members The proposal is for Club Person of the year to be determined by the number of events each member participates in based on records kept of attendances. The present voting system tends to a have a bias towards voting for committee members who have a high profile. The change will provide all members with a better opportunity to receive the award and will have the added benefit of encouraging attendance at events. New system to start from July 2015) The proposal was accepted by members in the majority. General Business from the floor It was suggested that consideration be given to providing Club Grille badges. The suggestion will be considered by the committee.
