AMC entries will be collected from schools in the week ending Thursday 29th March, then entered into our database for marking on Saturday 21st April. So all you wonderful judges please keep this day free of other obligations. Our General Meeting will be held on Wednesday 4 th April, with our ANZAC Sunday March and Dawn services dates as noted below. On the social scene, some of our members attended a night at the Pymble Players production of The Blonde, The Brunette and the Vengeful Redhead. The mind boggles at the thought! What s On * General Meeting 7.30pm Wednesday 4th April * Coach Trip & Harbour Cruise 9.00 am Thursday 12th April Thursday 12 th April will see our Coach Trip and Harbour Cruise come up. This very special event sold out rapidly and we have two coaches carrying ninety participants. Well done everyone! From RSL NSW we have no specific information at this stage to pass on, but we will keep you advised. Locally we can report that our Committee member Vince Williams, attended a meeting of the Warringah Australia Remembers Committee at Manly on Friday 16 th March. This is an active group under the auspices of Tony Abbott, Federal Member for Warringah. Vince will now be representing us at these meetings on a regular basis as part of our commitment to community affairs. We also hosted the AGM of the Northern Beaches District Council on Tuesday 20 th March, which is an increasingly important part of our overall operations. Membership Sadly, we report the passing of the following dear members: ADDISON, Robert Warren NAVY WAKE, Keith Dennis ROYAL NAVY Our Cenotaph and Memorial Walkway Thanks to our volunteers all is looking good in preparation for our ANZAC services. Our sincere condolences are passed onto families and friends. Prepaid Pavers: Members are reminded that you can order and prepay your own paver at any time you wish. Cost for pavers for sub-branch members is $35. REMINDER COACH TRIP AND HARBOUR CRUISE THURSDAY 12 th APRIL 2018 Our coach trip and harbour cruise, celebrating NSW Seniors Festival, will depart at 9AM on Thursday 12 th April 2018 from the lower car park, so please park there as we will be on tour all day. Your coach trip includes sightseeing and morning tea. Your Captain Cook Cruise on Sydney Harbour includes a delicious buffet lunch featuring seafood and a full range of nonseafood and vegetarian. The Women s Auxiliary Our AGM was held on Monday 5th March with 41 ladies in attendance. Your Committee is as follows: President Annie Betts, Vice Presidents Rae Stoddard & Caryl Flint, Secretary Barbara Norton, Treasurer Carol Anstiss, Social Secretary Jan Taylor, Committee Caroline Finlay & Shirley Mashman, with our Patron Jill Scifleet. I am so lucky to have such a great group of ladies on the Committee who worked so hard to make 2017 a success, and it is made so much easier when you are with friends and having fun along the way. We followed our AGM with our BBQ and a big Thank You to our Chefs - Brian Flint, John Finlay and Tony Betts - for a great lunch. We would like to thank our Women s Auxiliary members for your continued support. We are all looking forward to this coming year where we can catch up at our monthly meetings, where we have some very interesting guest speakers. We would like to congratulate sub-branch President John Scifleet and his Committee on the work they are doing and to thank them for all the help they gave us in 2017. We are looking forward to working with them in 2018. It was also lovely to have some of the sub-branch members and Committee members attend our meetings with some of our interesting guest speakers. Our next Meeting is on Monday 9th April at 1.00 pm. Our Guest Speaker will be Natalie Dickson who is from the FerrovialYork road upgrade team on behalf of Roads & Maritime Services. She will be talking about what is happening with the road upgrades around our new Northern Beaches Hospital. This should be of interest to us, and all are welcome. We will not be selling Anzac Badges this year. The ANZAC Sunday March will be held on 22nd April starting 2.30 pm. The ANZAC Day Dawn Service will be on Wednesday 25th April starting at 5.30 am. The Women s Auxiliary will be serving Tea & Coffee at both of these functions, looking forward to seeing you there. Any ladies wishing to join our Women s Auxiliary just give me a call on 94020882.
