What is the Purpose of the Camps? Cambridge Christian partners with families and the church to build a firm foundation for life through a Christ-centered academic education and athletics. Lancer Camps strive to provide opportunity for discipleship and skill development as students learn life lessons relating to sacrifice, self-discipline, and perseverance in a FUN and SAFE Christian environment. Camps are led by Cambridge Christian teachers, coaches and supporters who have a heart for kids. Who Can Attend the Camps? Sports Camps Grades Lancer Summer Camps are designed for children who are incoming 1-8 graders (based upon sport being offered). Drills and skills are ageappropriate and serve all kids of all skill levels, from beginners to the proficient. See individual camp offerings for age and gender requirements. Where Are the Camps Located? The Lancer Camps are located at 6101 N Habana Avenue, Tampa FL. 33614. The Campus features well maintained classrooms, gymnasium and well-manicured fields for outdoor activities/sports. What is the Registration Process for the Camps? To register for a summer camp, please fill out the form below for each participant. Participants are eligible to register for multiple camps using the same form. Turn in the completed form, along with your check (or cash), payable to Cambridge Christian School. The fee for each individual st camp is listed below. Each participant will receive a Lancer Sports camp T-shirt. The Registration Deadline for registration is May 1, 2017. Sign up today to ensure your child's spot in the program. Sports Camp Offerings Grades 1-8 Minimum of 10 campers required to offer each camp. Baseball Baseball Camps are designed to help each participant advance their fielding, throwing and hitting fundamentals. Also, real game situations will be conducted to incorporate the skills being developed. Our Boot Camps provide participants with the opportunities to review and strengthen mathematical and English concepts and skills. These boot camps are a great opportunity for students to work with our CCS faculty as they prepare to confidently begin their school year. The Boot Camps will be held at Cambridge Christian Upper School When will these Boot Camps be held? The dates for each camp can be found under each Boot Camp description. Academic Boot Camp Offerings Grades 9-12 Algebra Boot Camp Students will review algebraic concepts for both Algebra 1 & 2 that will ensure their success as they begin their Algebra I & II courses. They will also participate in a writing workshop designed to introduce tips and strategies aimed to enhance various forms of required high school writing. Geometry Boot Camp Students will review foundational concepts that will prepare them as they begin their Geometry courses. Minimum # of students July 17-20 8:00am-Noon 9-12 High School $150 4 Technology Boot Camp Students will learn how to use Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and others that will help prepare them for the technological high school requirements. Since our school is a BYOD school it is recommended for students to have some tech proficiency. Campers are divided into groups and attend multiple stations, including Robotics, Design and Innovative Play. Students will have opportunities to work with and program Lego Mindstorm Robotics units/ Ozobot mini-bots, solve engineering challenges, play and innovate in teams using Minecraft, plan and film stop-motion animation and digital animations through apps and much more! Throughout the week, students will visit MOSI, Glazer Children's Museum and participate in Small Lab, experience a Mad Science presentation on Super Hero Science, compete in Laser Tag at Qzar, and take a tour through Lowry Park Zoo to see how science is involved in caring for the animals. Students will be led on an art journey by experienced art instructors as they explore art theory, color theory, design and allow their creativity to be expressed through multiple styles of art. There will be a devotion time, outdoor play time and an opportunity to purchase treats from our Campus Store! This week, everyone is an artist!
