Specifically, it is located in the Malaysian state of Perak and crosses into Southern Thailand. Belum-Temengor is divided into two sections. Belum is located at up north right by the Malaysia-Thailand border while Temengor is south of Belum. The Royal Belum State Park is entirely contained within the forest complex. Belum-Temengor is believed to have been in existence for over 130 million years making it one of the world s oldest rainforests, older than both the Amazon and the Congo. In the heart of the forest lies the manmade lake of Tasik Temenggor, covering 15,200 Hectares which is dotted with hundreds of islands. Belum-Temenggor relatively untouched forest is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna including 14 of world's most threatened mammals including the Malaysian tiger, Asiatic elephant, Sumatran rhinoceros, white handed gibbon, Malaysian sun bear and tapir. Other animals that also roam freely include seladang, wild boars, and numerous species of deer, pythons and cobras. Belum Temengor is ideal for bird watcher with over 300 avian species including the hornbill. It is the only existing forest where you can spot all 10 species of hornbill that inhabit Malaysia consisting of the white-crowned hornbill, bushy-crested hornbill, wrinkled hornbill, wreathed hornbill, plain-pouched hornbill, black hornbill, Oriental pied hornbill, rhinoceros hornbill, great hornbill and helmeted hornbill. In the forest you can also find 3,000 species of flowering plants, including 3 species of Rafflesia, the world's largest flower. Page 4

ROYAL BELUM EXCURSION DAYPACK A [ RB001 ] DAY TRIP : 6-7 HOURS LEVEL : MEDIUM An adventure into 130 millions rainforest, the trip starts with boating to Orang Asli settlement at Kejar Hilir. Pack the day with nature trekking at Royal Belum Campsite. Spot the largest flower, Rafflesia. Explore the wildlife by visiting wet saltlick at Jenut Papan and picnic by the Sungai Ruok Waterfall. RATE : RM 600.00 PER BOAT maximum of 7 persons Additional : RM 20.00 per person for Entry Permit, RM 5.00 for camera permits. DAYPACK B [ RB002 ] DAY TRIP : 3-4 HOURS LEVEL : MEDIUM Start the day with visiting animal Saltlick at Sira Papan. Visit Fish Sanctuary at Sg Ruok and spend the rest of the trip dipping at Sungai Ruok Waterfall. Visit rafflesia spot on the way back. Sightseeing Temenggor Damn and Pulau Batu Puteh the location of Cycad (the most ancient plants on earth existing today). Continue boating to Elephant Saltlick area and picnic at waterfall. Culture Visit to Orang Asli Village is part of the experience. SPORT FISHING [ SF001 ] DAY TRIP : 1 HOURS LEVEL : EASY Experience the challenge of fishing in Belum Temenggor. There are more than 27 species fish around here. The famous snake head fish (Toman) is the best challenge. Choice of casting or bottom fishing. Guest are advice to bring you own fishing equipment and baits. We also rent basic fishing equipment at RM 50.00 per trip. Additional RM 15.00 per person charge for Royal Belum Fishing Experience. Application must be made 14 working days prior date of trip. RATE : RM 600.00 PER BOAT duration of 7-8 Hours RM 500.00 PER BOAT duration of 4-5 hours TERMS & CONDITIONS All subjects are subject to availability, first come first serve basis and weather conditions. Children below 10 years old and Adult 50 years and above are not advisable to participate in our recreational activities due to safety reasons, unless on his/her willing.
