The building blocks of a healthy community 2016 REPORT TO THE REGION
A legacy of improving the health and well-being of eastern North Carolina Vidant Health has a long, proud history of serving eastern North Carolina. In fact, that commitment goes back more than 65 years when the first building blocks of a healthy community were created. In 2016, Vidant focused on its mission, vision and values. The result? Significant improvements in patient quality, access and experience the outcome of new services, treatment options and facilities. Many of these achievements for patients and families would not be possible without Vidant s longtime partner, the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. Together, these two nationally recognized organizations are training the next generation of health professionals who dedicate their lives to helping those in need. By remaining dedicated to its mission, vision and values, Vidant is well-positioned to continue building upon the legacy of those first building blocks 65 years later. Marcus S.
