SPAIN EXCHANGE IN BARCELONA 11 days / 9 nights February 28 - March 10, 2018 (Travel dates to be confirmed upon flight booking)
DAY 1: USA / SPAIN (Wednesday) Fly through the night to Barcelona, Spain. DAY 2: BARCELONA (Thursday) Welcome to Spain! Upon arrival at the airport, a Forum Representative will greet you and help you transfer to your partner school. Transfer by private motor coach to Begues. Upon arrival at Colegio Sant Lluis, have a short orientation and meet your pen pals. Start your exchange program. While living with a host-family, you will find out that Spanish is more than a textbook language. You will eat Spanish food, meet Spanish people and have an excellent opportunity to practice your Spanish in real-life situations. DAY 3 5: EXCHANGE (Friday to Sunday) On Friday, attend school with your pen pals. Activities and workshops may be organized at the school during your visit (to be confirmed with the Spanish school). Spend the weekend with your host families. DAY 6: FIGUERES / GIRONA (Monday) This morning after breakfast, meet your Forum Tour Manager and board your private motor coach to Figueres, a thriving and bustling city. Enter the extraordinary Dali Museum. Inaugurated in 1974, the Dalí Theatre- Museum contains the broadest range of works spanning the artistic career of Salvador Dalí. Free time for lunch before continuing onto the ancient walled city of Girona, located on a fortress-like hill, high above the River Onyar. Explore this beautiful medieval city with your Forum Tour Manager. DAY 7: EXCHANGE (Tuesday) Attend school with your pen pals. Activities and workshops may be organized at the school during your visit (to be confirmed with the Spanish school). DAY 8: MONTSERRAT (Wednesday) After breakfast with your host family, meet your Forum Tour Manager and head to the mountain of Montserrat, one of the most spectacular of all Spain's natural sights. Meet your local guide and see the monastery. Enter the renaissance Basilica (dating largely from 1560 to 1592). Don t miss La Moreneta, blackened by the smoke of countless candles, standing above the high altar reached from behind, by way of an entrance to the right of the basilica's main entrance.
Listen to the choirs chorus and enjoy a degustación de licores (non-alcoholic) from the region. After some free time for lunch, take a cable car to the top of the mountain for spectacular views. DAY 9: EXCHANGE (Thursday) Attend school with your pen pals. Activities and workshops may be organized at the school during your visit (to be confirmed with the Spanish school). DAY 10: BARCELONA (Friday) After breakfast with your host family, meet your Forum Tour Manager and head to Barcelona. Visit the Picasso museum. The museum houses one of the most extensive collections of artworks by the 20th-century Spanish artist Pablo Picasso. Then, head to Montjuic and visit the Olympic Stadium. End your day with a visit to Camp Nou, home of the world-famous soccer team, futbol club Barcelona. DAY 11: DEPART (Saturday) After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
