WELCOME TO CAMP! everything you need to know about the best 5 weeks of your summer!
WELCOME WELCOME TO EAGLE LAKE CREW CAMP! We re so excited that you ve chosen our CREW program here on our beautiful Overnight camp property, which we ve seen God uniquely bless and use to transform lives for nearly 60 years. Our prayer is that these five weeks would bring your camper face to face with Jesus and that they would be transformed by knowing him. Even more than making camp fun, our desire is to inspire Christ-centered love in the heart of your camper. Our highly trained counselors give your camper personal, one-on-one time to help him or her grow spiritually, and model what it means to walk with Christ. Thank you for choosing Eagle Lake CREW Camp! We can t wait to see what God has in store for all of us this summer. Director of Camping Ministries, Mark Heffentrager

HOW TO PACK Each tent has 5 bunk beds, so we recommend packing in either plastic bins or suitcases that are less than 16 tall in order to fit under the bunks. Laundry will be done 3 times during a camper s Crew session, so plan to pack clothes for about 10 days. Eagle Lake is not responsible for lost laundry, so make sure you label each item of clothing so that it does not get mixed up in the wash! CLOTHING Because we want to create a safe environment that allows campers to focus on building friendships, only modest clothing is permissible. For females this excludes: strapless or spaghetti strap tops, two-piece bathing suits, short shorts (3 inch inseam or less), sheer tops, and leggings worn as pants. For males this excludes pants or shorts worn exposing boxers/underwear, and shirts must be worn at all times unless participating in beach activities. Campers will be asked to change if they wear these. Unscheduled laundry will only be done in case of an emergency. Crew campers are required to wear closed toed shoes when working, and long pants must be worn while working in the kitchen. ES TH WORK CLO

OTHER POLICIES AND PROCEDURES PAYMENT/REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICIES All checks must be made payable to The Navigators. Camp balance is due, in full, two weeks prior to the camp start date. If balance is not paid before the camper arrives at camp, Eagle Lake reserves the right to charge your credit card on file for your remaining balance. No refund will be made for dismissals due to disciplinary action, late arrival, or early departure. Refunds of the full tuition minus the $50 non-refundable deposit may be given if the request is legitimate and is made in writing more than two weeks prior to the scheduled camp week. Otherwise, refund requests will be handled on a case-by-case basis. PERSONAL FOOD There is limited space for personal food. Family and friends are more than welcome to send care packages to their favorite crew member. If a crew member has medical or nutritional needs, we are more than willing to accommodate the crew member s food supply. MEDICATIONS All medicines (including prescription, over the counter, vitamins, and supplements) must be checked on opening day with one of our camp medical staff, along with written instructions from the camper s doctor. To best protect your camper, our medical staff keeps all medications (with the exception of inhalers and epi pens) and distributes them at the time they need to be taken by the camper. You do not need to bring over-the-counter medications as our infirmary is sufficiently stocked to meet the demands of most headaches, coughs and scrapes. If you have specific questions, please contact the Eagle Lake office. CONTRABAND Alcohol, tobacco, drugs (with the exception of prescription medications), knives, guns and fireworks are not permitted at Eagle Lake during your time with us. Consequence of possession or use is grounds for dismissal. See the Policies and Procedures form for the list of other items, such as electronics and non-christian books, not permitted at camp. These will be collected on the first day and held in locked areas to be returned at the end of your camper s 5 weeks.
OTHER POLICIES AND PROCEDURES (continued) LOST AND FOUND All personal items should be clearly marked with first and last name. While not responsible for lost items, Eagle Lake catalogs lost and found for possible return. Items not claimed within two weeks of the camp session are donated to local charities. CELL PHONES AND ELECTRONICS We request that campers do not bring cell phones or other electronic devices to camp. We want to give them a chance to unplug for the time they are there, and experience God in His creation! If a camper does bring an electronic device we will keep it safe for them in our office until returning it at the end of their session. INJURY OR ILLNESS If your child is from Colorado: After 24 hours of being in the Infirmary, we will ask you to come pick up your child and proceed with whatever medical care is needed for their full recovery. If your child is from out of town: After 24 hours of being in the Infirmary, we will take your child to urgent care to receive treatment. Upon returning from urgent care, your child will have 48 hours to fully recover. After 48 hours if they are still sick, we will ask for you to make arrangements for them to return home so they may fully recover. In the event of an injury or illness, your child will be treated to the best of our ability. If Eagle Lake determines that a camper s condition requires treatment beyond our medical team s abilities, urgent care or emergency room treatment will be sought. If you express concern or disapproval regarding the use of outside medical care, you may chose to come pick up your camper from Eagle Lake within 3 hours of first contact. If you cannot pick up your camper within 3 hours, Eagle Lake will continue with the course of action that we determine is in the best interest of the camper and camp.
OTHER POLICIES AND PROCEDURES (continued) FREE TIME EXPECTATIONS Each day Crew campers will be given free time without work responsibilities. All free time will be supervised. At no time should campers be anywhere on property without a counselor or director s knowledge. At no time should two campers be alone together.
