Parent information Junior and Pioneer division ages 6 through 13 years old. Welcome to Camp Gan Israel! We are looking forward to a fun and exciting summer camp experience. Here is some pertinent information you will need to know prior to the first day of camp. Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have. Rabbi Mendy & Endi Tennenhaus Directors STAFF: Both Endi and myself will be running camp through the 7 weeks of summer. Endi will be taking the more active role in the preschool while Rabbi Mendy works with the older division, as well as in the administrative and financial aspects of the camp. You can reach either of us at the office 954 458 1877. Or on our cell phones, Rabbi Mendy 954 687 7225 and Endi 954 624 5057. Please save both of our cell numbers in your phones so you can receive important camp whatsapp broadcasts. We have chosen a top notch staff and I am confident that they will create a warm, safe and fun environment for your children DATES/HOURS: Camp dates: June 25 th through August 9 th. There will be no Camp on July 4 th. Regular camp hours: 9:00am -3:45 pm Early drop off 8:00am-9:00am After care: 3:45-5:30pm Mon-Thur. 2:45-4:30pm on Friday DROP OFF AND PICK UP: We encourage you to bring your child on time so they don t miss getting to activities in the mornings, as we sometimes leave shortly after camp begins to the pool or trips. If you will be dropping off or picking up your child during the day please let the office know.

THERE WILL BE A SECURITY GUARD WORKING FROM 8:45am-4:45pm DAILY. Early/ after care: Early and after care will take place in a classroom. Children must be dropped off and picked up from the early care and after care room and signed in and out by a parent. If your child is not enrolled in either of these programs, but you end up using it you will be charged $10 per use. Hollywood bus: There will be bus transportation to and from Kosher Central in Hollywood. If you would like to make use of this free service, you must sign up for the bus transportation on our website by filling in the bus transportation form. The bus will be parked in front of Kosher Central from 8:30 am and will leave promptly at 8:40am. Please be on time because the bus will not wait for anyone. Afternoon pickup from Kosher Central will be at 4:00pm (3:00pm on Fridays). Please be on time to pick up your children from the bus. Morning carpool / drop off: Camp begins at 9:00am. There will be teachers and counselors outside from 8:55am until 9:15am to greet your children at your car in the carpool lane and walk them to their classroom. If you arrive after 9:15am please park and walk your child to their bunk. Please refrain from using your phones during carpool for the safety of the children, and you may not get out of your car if you choose to use the carpool option. We encourage all parents to use the carpool lane in the morning as parking is very limited in our parking lot, and this makes for a smoother drop off. Afternoon carpool/ pick up: Dismissal and pickup is between 3:30 and 3:45pm (2:30 pm and 2:45pm on Friday) through the carpool lane. Your children will be brought to your car from his/her classroom. If you have children in both preschool and big camp, carpool is from 3:30-3:45pm. If you have not picked up your child on time, they will automatically be enrolled in after care, and you will be charged for the day.

PROGRAM: Each day, the campers will be involved in different fun activities that will be connected to the theme we have chosen for the given week. This year s theme is CGI The greatest show on earth! We will dedicate each of the seven weeks of camp to another circus oriented theme! Our weekly specials are as follows: Juniors and pioneer girls: MONDAY TUESDAY WEDNESDAY THURSDAY FRIDAY Kids in the Kitchen art Trip days Dress up days art Trip days Weekly Show Challah Baking/ shabbat Pioneer trip day Pioneer boys: MONDAY TUESDAY WEDNESDAY THURSDAY FRIDAY Trip Sports Wood working/ craft Trip Sports competitions Trip : The juniors and Pioneer girls will be swimming at Caporella Aquatic center. There is an Olympic size swimming pool, water slide and kiddie water park area. The pool is well supervised by many lifeguards and our staff.

This year we had rash guards (swim shirt) with the camp logo printed on them to be worn on swim days. It is mandatory that every child wear the swim shirt while at the pool. Please send your child to camp wearing his/her bathing suit, camp rash guard and water shoes on swim days. Send them along with a change of clothing including a camp shirt, towel, and sneakers. takes place in the mornings during camp and this helps reduce the time it takes for the entire camp to change and get ready for the pool. Pioneer boys will be swimming at the JCC pool in Aventura. They should come to camp with their swim suit, rash guard and towel in a bag. Trips: Each division goes on trips on different days. Please see chart above and camp calendars to see when your childs division goes on a trip. 5 year old division goes on trips only on Tuesdays. Camp Tshirts: Camp shirts must be worn every day of camp, not only on trip days. The camp shirts are the same orang and yellow tye dye as in previous summers. You do not need to purchase new ones if you already have shirts. Camp tshirts and swim shirts can be purchased in the camp office the week before camp begins. Tshirts that have been pre-paid for can be picked up the week before camp at the camp office, or will be given to the campers on the first day of camp. Please see the enclosed calendar so you are updated and aware of any special activities we have planned.
