Airfield Familiarization
Vehicle Requirements Vehicles must be equipped with an orange and white checkered flag on the uppermost part of the vehicle structure. Vehicles can also have a light bar placed on top of the operator s cab to be used in place of the a checkered flag. Vehicles entering the airfield must have company signs on both sides of the vehicle.
Gate 44 To gain access to Gate 44 personnel must have and Airport issued badge or be under escort of a badged person. Prior to entering the airfield call Airport Operations (863)-834-4911. Who are you Where are you going Scope of work How long will you be there Call when leaving the airfield.
Badging In order to gain access to the airfield you must be issued an airport badge. Employees or volunteers working before the SNF event will need a event badge. Employees or volunteers without a badge must be escorted by badged personnel. Badged personnel are responsible for the induvial(s) under their escort. Failure to contact Airport Operations prior to entering the secured area of the Airport may result in your removal from the secured area and revocation of your security badge.
Aircraft Familiarization Look for beacons on top of the tails and underneath aircraft, if they are on it, signals a running engine or an aircraft is about to start. Pilots have a narrow view and may not be able to see you. Stay a minimum of 200 ft. behind all aircraft. Maintain a minimum of 20 ft. clearance between you and the aircraft around you.
Runway Incursions and Vehicle / Pedestrian Deviations (VPDs) Never drive under the wings of an aircraft. Aircraft have the right-of-way. Do not pull out in front of an aircraft. Do not cross runway hold position markings or movement not-movement markings without authorization from ATC or the airport.
Airfield Signs Taxiway Location Identifies the taxiway on which the aircraft is located. Taxiway Directional Defines direction and designation of intersecting taxiways. Directional Sign Array Identifies location of multiple intersecting taxiways and the direction.
Airfield Signs Taxiway/Runway Holding Position Hold short of intersecting runway.
Instrument Landing System (ILS) Holding Denotes entrance to area to be protected for an ILS signal or approach airspace. Located on taxiways where the taxiway enter the NAVAID critical area or where aircraft on taxiway would violate ILS approach airspace. Hold only when instructed by ATC.
Surface Painted Holding Position Designates runway ahead in conjunction with yellow holding position marking. Holding Position with Enhanced Taxiway Centerline Alerts of an approaching runway. Taxiway/Taxiway Holding Position Hold short of intersecting taxiway when directed by ATC. Movement Area Boundary Defines boundary of movement area and non-movement area. Airfield Markings

Fence Line Clearance All tents, porta potties, signs and vehicles, must be 10 feet from both sides of the fence lines. No banners or signs are authorized on fences or gates. Do not block any gates for emergency response access.
