College for Kids Camp 2018 Send your child to college for the summer! The College for Kids program, now in its 33rd year, offers kids an exciting, fun-filled and educational summer. Hands-on learning and exploration activities are being planned for: art math music science creative writing American Sign Language lenders and leaders physical education Instructors are certified teachers or experts in their field and camps are operated in a supervised environment with one staff member to 15 children. The College for Kids Summer Day Camp fee includes before and after-care, lunch, two daily snacks, field trips and all supplies. In addition to the unique requirements for specific camps, all camp participants are expected to engage in group and independent hands-on/active learning opportunities in a manner that demonstrates their willingness and ability to follow directions, behave appropriately, share and respect others, and explore new ideas. A parent or guardian who believes his/her child has limitations that may affect his/her ability to participate in the manner, and with the level of supervision described above, should contact Nan Mayer at nmayer@lakelandcc.edu to arrange a time to discuss the need for, and availability of, reasonable accommodations for a specific camp.

Thomas W. Mastin Fund Scholarship The intent of the Thomas W. Mastin Fund is to provide resources for the development, provision of, and access to, innovative programs in science, the environment and related subjects (math and English) that will create and encourage interest in the natural sciences and the environment by children and youth. Program Details Full payment is due at time of registration and includes a $100 processing fee that is nonrefundable after May 1, 2018. A payment plan is available for registrations made prior to April 2, 2018 for the full eight-week session only. Fifty percent of the fee is due with registration. The balance must be paid in full by the end the of the business day, Friday, May 18, 2018. The deadline for registering for the full eight-weeks is June 4, 2018. A multi-child discount is available for families with more than one child attending College for Kids. Register one child for the Monday-Friday full-day eight-week camp, and receive a five percent discount for a second child in the same household.* Drop off/pick up are included in the fee and is available from 7:30-9 a.m. and 4-6 p.m. Field trips are included in the camp fee. There will be one field trip during the first four-weeks, and one during the second fourweeks. This covers transportation and admission. A permission slip will be required for your child to participate. All participants will receive a T-shirt. Please feel free to contact us with any questions regarding our camp. Musical Theater and Production Camp Go behind the scenes and be part of a theater production from start to finish! Each day will be packed with exercises in acting, improvisation, set painting, prop making, musicals and much more. The three-week camp will conclude with an onstage production Friday, July 6, 2018. Register early, enrollment is limited. Participants do not need previous acting or musical experience. However, this camp is designed for children with an interest in theater and acting. Campers should bring a lunch, or money to purchase one in Lakeland s dining hall. One daily snack is provided. Drop-off is 7:30-9 a.m. and pick up is 4-6 p.m. at the athletic and fitness center and is included in the fee. Cellphones, headphones and other electronic devices, are prohibited during camp activities including sign-in and sign-out. Campers are required to wear tennis shoes for the sign-in/sign-out portion of the day, but may bring a change of shoes with instructor s permission. Otherwise, they will need to be sitting and away from activity (this includes practicing routines for the show, etc.) A $50 supply fee is due with registration. Please note this camp begins Friday, June 15, 2018. Camp will not meet Wednesday, July 4, 2018. All participants will receive a T-shirt. Specify your T-shirt size when registering. Helpful Hints for Campers and Parents Bring your completed liability/release form, emergency contact form, photo release and password card the first day of camp, or plan for time to complete at drop-off. Your family s password will be required at sign-out starting the first day of camp. Dress appropriately! We recommend a small backpack, hat, sunscreen and a light pullover as some spaces on campus may be chilly. Tennis shoes are required please no Heelys, thick-soled tennis shoes, sandals, flip-flops, crocs, etc. Drop-off and pick up will take place in the athletic and fitness center from 7:30-9 a.m. and 4-6 p.m. A late fee will be charged if pick up is after 6 p.m. A parent manual will be emailed prior to camp and will contain additional information regarding camp procedures, lunch menu, group schedules and more.
