BLED - A JEWEL AMONG THE ALPS The eternal allure of Bled lies in its magical lake, a shimmering body of crystal-clear water embraced by a necklace of snow-capped Alpine peaks. Atop the lake reigns Slovenia s only island, crowned by a 15th-century chapel safely guarding its wishing bell, while high above it broods a mighty medieval castle. BLED LIDO The open water event will start and finish in Bled Lido, just a 5-minute walk away from the centre of Bled. Bled Lido is the only designated outdoor bathing area on Lake Bled. Situated just below the magnificent castle rock, it has a sunny and picturesque location. Several years ago, the bathing site, which boasts modern infrastructure and diverse amenities, was awarded the Blue Flag as proof of its compliance with strict environmental standards. The enclosed bathing site is 300 metres long, with a total area of over 6,000 square metres and four swimming pools. SAFETY A full medical service and appropriate safety will be provided during and at the end of the competition. Each competitor is responsible for his/her own medical examination. The Organizing Committee is not responsible for accidents related to inadequate preparation or health matters. All competitors will receive and must wear a brightly coloured numbered cap according to the seeding. Hot drinks will be provided at the end of the course. HOSPITALITY

TRANSPORTATION During the time of the competitions special transportation systems for participants and accompanying persons will be organized.
