WWW.CENTEXTINLIZZIES.ORG Volume 6, Issue 7 July 21, 2015 6, Issue 6 June 16, Martindale July 4th Parade By Steve Hadorn The 4 th ofjuly parade in Martindale was wonderful. It doesn t get any more Americana than 4 th of July Parade, fried chicken picnic and Model Ts. It was great to have all that could come and I would like to ask that all members try next year to make it. This is truly one of the most fun easy to enjoy events that we participate in as a club. The hospitality was wonderful and the Cen Tex Tin Lizzies were much appreciated and definitely made up a great piece of the festivities. I can t encourage you all enough to participate next year if you can. If you want we can all take riders so no excuses to miss. We took two of our granddaughters and they enjoyed the festivities as well. There is nothing like small town America to bring us all back to the America that we all grew up loving. It made for a great day and back home by 3pm. Truly give it a try and be there next year it will exceed your expectations so fun. Thanks to all that did make it. God Bless America!!!!

Band Chatter, Page 2 July 21, 2015 Minutes of the June Meeting By Secretary Joyce Shierlow MINUTES OF JUNE 2015 CLUB MEETING At 7pm on June 16, 2015 President John Anderson called the meeting for the Cen-Tex Tin Lizzies to order. There were16 members and no guests present. WELLNESS REPORT: Joyce Shierlow said that Stella Unger had been in the hospital because of a tumor in her back and suffered a stroke. Then she went to a rehab facility and had rehab for a few weeks. She is home now and going to outpatient rehab for her arm and hand. A card and flowers have been sent. MEMBERSHIP REPORT: Debbie Cartwright has recently joined the club. John asked if there were any additions or corrections to the MINUTES as written in the BAND CHATTER. There were none, so Joe Pinnelli made a motion to accept the minutes as written and Karen Ross seconded the motion. Motion carried. Jan Donnell gave the TREASURER s REPORT stating that there is a sufficient bank balance in the club account. SHOW and TELL: Vic Donnell brought numerous carburetors and a copy of the VINTAGE FORD magazine with an article describing each one and how effective each is. J.C Carter brought photos of Laurel and Hardy in their Model T s and a FORD TIMES Magazine Vic Donnell won the prize for the best SHOW and TELL CALENDAR: The Father s Day Car Show was cancelled this year due to very inclimate weather. It was the first time in the history of this car show that it was cancelled for any reason. July 4 th is the Martindale Parade. Joe Pinnelli has made lunch arrangements. September 12 is the San Antonio Model T Show September 30 through Oct 4 th is the Texas T Party in Uvalde, TX. November 7 th is the Kingsbury Fly-In. Joe Pinnelli will lead the T s to the airfield. December 5 th is the annual club Christmas Party and the Treadwell s have agreed to host. REFRESHMENT BREAK; REFRESHMENTS were brought by Robert Norberg and Juan Barraza. 50/50 DRAWING: The drawing was won by Joe Pinnelli. PROGRAM: Bob Ross had the program with a lesson in How To Start a Model T. At 8:30 Joe Pinnelli made a motion to adjourn the meeting and George Brunner seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Band Chatter, Page 3 July 21, 2015 Words of Wisdom from the John Show & Tell Winner What a crazy weather year this has been! First the Texas Transportation Museum postponed it s annual Model T Show till fall, then the Father s Day Car Show got rained out. Here s hoping this pattern will end for the T Party in Uvalde. At least we had great weather for the Martindale 4th of July Parade. The year is halfway over, so now we need to start thinking about our fall and winter activities like the T Party. It appears that we will have a good representation from this club. Vic Donnell Who will be the winner in July? See you at the meeting! John

Band Chatter, Page 4 July 21, 2015 38 th Annual Texas T-Party Sept. 30 - Oct. 3, 2015 Uvalde, Texas The 38 th Annual Texas T-Party is in four short months. If you plan on going please register soon so we can let the caterers have a head count of attendees. The tour starts on Wednesday morning Sept. 30 th, and will close with the banquet on Saturday evening October 3. The Wednesday tour will begin at 9:00am from the hotel, driving to Bracketville for a tour at Fort Clark Springs and lunch, then going to the Alamo Village. Alamo Village has been closed for the past five years, but we have been allowed special entrance. Thursday will be our in-town day, where we will take pictures at Garner Field, have a short ride to the 3P Ranch, a hunter s paradise, for lunch. Then back to town to tour the First State Bank Art Collection, Opera House, and the Briscoe-Garner Museum. The Visitors Center will be providing a sit down Mexican dinner and entertainment on the square. You will be able to walk around and take advantage of some of the shops as well. Friday we will start out riding to Leakey then RR 337 to Vanderpool for lunch at Lost Maples Winery. After lunch we will go back thru Utopia then a short stop at an antique tractor restoration shop where FFA students help restore the tractors. Back thru Sabinal to hotel. The Ford Dealership will be feeding us during a Car Show at 6pm. Saturday we ll head to Garner State Park for a car show and tour of the park. Then driving through Leakey to the Bent Rim Grill for lunch. Then on scenic RR 337 to Camp Wood then a short drive to Vance, TX, riding by ranches with exotic animals. Then heading back to Uvalde for the closing banquet at the Uvalde Country Club. There are very scenic roads in this area with steep hills so have your cars, especially the brakes, in top condition. We will have alternate routes on some of these roads. Ranch Roads 335, 336, & 337 are known as the Three Twisted Sisters by motorcycle and car clubs. We will be driving on RR 337. The Hampton Inn will be the host hotel and the Holiday Inn Express right across the street will be the over flow hotel. We will have to use both hotels to hold everyone. Rates at both hotels are $92. Mention the Texas T-Party when you call. Neither hotel allows pets but the Quality Inn does. Make your reservations now you can cancel later if you need to. This is a busy time for them so we need to fill up the rooms blocked and they will add more to it. Trailer parking will be either in a field next to the Hampton Inn or a paved parking lot at the nearby civic enter. Tour fees will be $175 for the car & driver, passengers will be $150 and children 12 and under will be free. We will accommodate a few single day visitors call for a daily amount but if riding more than one day, please figure the full tour amount. We will need to know how many are attending on Wednesday s tour to get a lunch total.
