KEMPINSKI PALACE PORTOROZ INFORMATION DIRECTORY For the past 100 years, this iconic hotel has played a key role in the life of Portoroz. With its authentic mix of Art Nouveau, Secession, Bauhaus and Art Deco architecture, Kempinski Palace combines glamorous Viennese elegance with modern design. DIETARY REQUIREMENTS If you have any dietary requirements such as vegetarian and gluten free please notify the Reservations Department at Noble Caledonia. We will endeavour to accommodate your needs. Once checked in, please speak to the Maitre D at dinner on your first night to reconfirm your needs. DINING AND DRINKING Have your breakfast in the Crystal Hall and then sunbathe by the pool and order a little something from the Pool Bar. In the Restaurant Sophia, fine dining is an art form as beautiful as the restaurant itself. Make yourself comfortable in the Fleur de Sel overlooking the Bay of Piran and choose from the Slovene-international menu. After the sun goes down enjoy the cocktails at the Palace Club. Restaurant Fleur de Sel: Enjoy the combination of modern local food and laid-back lifestyle with an amazing location on the Mezzanine floor, overseeing the Bay of Piran. Restaurant Sophia: The culinary pearl of the hotel, Restaurant Sophia s unique cuisine is based on a mixture of Mediterranean flavours and ingredients with Italian and local Istrian highlights. Restaurant Sophia was named by the influential French restaurant guide Gault Millau as one of the best restaurants in Slovenia in 2015 with a rating of 13 points and 1 chef s hat. DISABLED FACILITIES The hotel has three dedicated disabled rooms and all areas are wheelchair accessible. DRESS CODE You may dress however you feel comfortable, whether it be casual, summery or smart, it s up to you. ELECTRICITY The voltage is 220 volts. EMERGENCY PROCEDURES In the unlikely event that this should occur during your stay, we ask that you remain calm and follow the instructions of the staff. All emergency exits are clearly marked and provide a safe and fast escape from the building. We request that as soon as you enter your room, you carefully read the safety instructions fixed on the inside of your hotel room door. END OF STAY QUESTIONNAIRE Your comments are important to us therefore we ask that you fill in the questionnaire sent with your final documents. PUBLIC AREAS LOUNGES The Palace Club lounge and bar is at the very heart of the Kempinski Palace Portoroz; it is the place for a morning cappuccino whilst reading the newspapers; a glass of white wine or a Palace Club sandwich whilst gathering with friends. In the evening you can enjoy the piano music. FITNESS AND SPORT Portoroz is definitely an interesting place for lovers of active holidays as it offers a wide range of different sport activities. Numerous water sport centres offer a variety of aquatic sports including surfing, diving, sailing, fishing and water skiing. In the immediate surrounding area of the hotel there are many walking paths and cycling tracks which guests can discover. The nearest golf courses are in Trieste or Lipica. ROOM ACCOUNT All guests will have their own room account once credit card details have been given to Reception on arrival. Deluxe Park View (King) These rooms feature about 40m 2 of space, a luxurious bathroom (equipped with a bathtub, shower and bidet) and a flat screen TV. The living area is larger than in Superior double rooms and the room has a balcony. The living area is larger than in the Superior double rooms and the room has a balcony. SAFE All rooms have a safe located in the wardrobe. It is recommended that guests leave all valuables in the room safe. In addition to the room safe, there are deposit boxes at Reception for storage of valuables. SAFETY DRILL & SAFETY Emergency evacuation procedures are located at the back of your bedroom door in the event of an emergency. A fire bell test is performed regularly. SMOKING POLICY Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the hotel other than in the Smoking Room which is located near the Palace Club. We kindly request that smokers take the comfort of other guests into consideration. SPA Portoroz has been famous since the 13th century for its rich spa tradition, where the Benedictine monks treated their visitors with seawater and salts. In the 19th century the cream of European society came to take the waters. Today, the Kempinski Rose Spa offers luxurious and quality services. It is located in the modern part of the hotel and extends over two floors. Connected indoor and outdoor swimming pools with seawater, Jacuzzis and a sauna area which features a Finnish herbal sauna, an aromatic steam sauna and an infra-red sauna are positioned on the ground floor. Next to the pool is the pool bar, with a broad selection of high-quality bottled waters, fresh fruit and snacks. The spa reception is located upstairs, as are fitness facilities and ten treatment rooms, which are all named after the Latin names of flowers. 6
