Poor Farmer s is hosting a new event for Labor Day Weekend. The Dog Days of Summer is a puppy themed event that is sure to get your pooches tail waggin. Saturday morning starts at 8AM with a Shriners Breakfast featuring Chris Cakes, the famous pancake flippers. I dare you to ask for a waffle. All proceeds will go to the Shriners Hospital for Children. At 10AM, the Search and Rescue Dogs will be conducting training throughout the campground. Please feel free to watch, ask questions, or even participate. The handlers of these dogs are very knowledgeable and friendly. BINGO was his NAME-O, will be held in the big shelter at 3PM. The cost to play is $.50/card and Petvalu is donating the prizes. At 6PM we are hosting a Steak & Potato Dinner. You must register for this event it requires a side and table service. We end our Saturday with a light parade at 9:30PM. Get your cart, your bike and your body lit up for a great time. Meet at the big shelter so we can bring light where there is none. After a good night's rest, Kathy Love will host Church in the Big Red Barn. If you are in for an inspirational message that is filled with love and devotion to God, then you need to be at the big shelter Sunday morning at 10AM. After church you get one hour of personal reflection time, then get your carts back up to the big shelter for a golf cart parade at noon. Then at 2PM, we will get Dog-gone crazy with a dog walk to warm up our four-legged friends for what could be the most challenging obstacle course they have ever seen, set-up by The Piqua Dog Club. Once all the awards have been handed out, get your mutts back to camp then come up for a hot dog roast at 5:30PM. Please remember, every dog must always be on a leash and aggressive dogs will be asked to be removed. Let s Go Barkin! Hot Dog Roast Sunday at 5:30PM Dogs must remain on a leash

I guess it s a blessing that at one year and one month he is already showing signs of the terrible twos. This kid is way ahead of the curve.

Page 3 of 6 The Monthly Chatter Charlie s Chat Judy Weaver AKA Grandma Judy When I first met Jim and Judy Weaver, they pulled up to Steve and I in front of the Big Shelter at the 2011 Tractor Show shortly after I started managing. Steve introduced them as his other Mom and Dad. From that point they were Grandma and Grandpa Weaver. We lost Grandpa Weaver in March 2013. He was a great man that watches over us still today. After his passing Grandma didn t think she would be able to stay out at Poor Farmer s. Wouldn t you know the Lord works in mysterious ways. We had just torn down the old mobile home next to the camp office and that left us a VIP spot that screamed Grandma Weaver. The following year she agreed to be our VIP. I was ecstatic when she said yes to helping us, but honestly, Judy has never said no to helping us. In fact, she has so much helpfulness about her, that it spills out onto her son Jimmy, who I will profile in a future newsletter. What makes Judy such an asset is her work ethic. For 13 years she was a personal assistant to Greg Stephens at a.m. Leonard. For 13 years this man s success was greatly due to the amount of support he received from Judy Weaver. Before she was making Greg Stephens successful, Grandma worked with the Miami County Board of Elections for 11 years. Throughout here career, she has given countless hours of her time participating in various events with the Springcreek Baptist Church, Miami County Fair Board, and other organizations designed around community service. I know what your asking yourself. With this resume, how in the world did Mike get so lucky to have her. There has been no clear answer to that question, but I will say this. I love Grandma to death, as well as every person I know that knows her. As for the fact to why she is here, it s because she loves us right back. Grandma Judy, the crew at Poor Farmer s is honored to be able to see you in both morning (to get us going), and in the evening (to send us home with a hug.) Thank you for your dedication to us, our customers and this campground. But most importantly, thank you for being such a great cook. I can t wait for the tractor show. Love You!
