Trail Boss Letter Greetings fellow Trail Blazers, For our June meeting, we had 17 people at Cozumel s. We then went across the street to the Go Karts. We had a former sailor give the Trail Blazers a tour of the USS Cod. The submarine would be at sea for 4 months and the people on the submarine did not shower during the 4 months. That makes not showering at camps practically nothing. The Independence Day Parade will be July 3 rd in Parma. With my kids playing baseball and also umpiring, July is pretty busy for our household. We will not have a meeting in July. The next meeting will be August 8 th at Bakers Square. If you need to discuss something during July, you can call or e-mail me. We are always welcome to new ideas for events. 2010 Fall Camp August 27-29, 2010 http://www.ymcacamptippecanoe.org DEADLINE TO REGISTER IS AUGUST 12, 2010 Trail Blazers have reserved the C-Bar-T Lodge at Camp Tippecanoe, an 1100-acre YMCA camp located in the beautiful woodlands and scenic hills of southeastern Ohio on Clendening Lake near New Philadelphia. You can plan on a 2 hour drive to this destination from our area. Upstairs the lodge has large rooms with bunk beds. You will need to bring pillows and sleeping bags. BEDDING, LINENS AND TOILETRIES ARE NOT PROVIDED. Downstairs are bathrooms and showers. There is also a kitchen and dining area.
Food provided by Trail Blazers. Provide your own beverage. Camp activities available include horseback riding, hiking, boating, fishing and target sports. In the evening, we will join the Adventure Guides (who are also camping here) at the fire to honor (and recruit) the Outgoing Expedition and serve everyone afterward with our spectacular ice-cream sundae bar.
