Word bank dry moderate warm central mountainous and rocky farming land The land and climate in Egypt was warm and dry The land in Greece was mountainous and rocky, making it difficult to travel between the City States. farming land was scarce, which is why they developed colonies. The climate in Rome was moderate, and the location was central to many other civilizations at the time. These features both contributed to the quick development and expansion of Rome.
