Here, in the cradle of Western civilization, glorious 14 th - to 15 th century Orthodox monasteries were built atop the towering sandstone precipices of Meteora, St. John the Apostle is believed to have penned the Book of Revelation on the island of Pátmos and the legend of the lost paradise city of Atlantis lives on in Santorini. Imagine Odysseus seeking redemption in the Underworld or Orpheus retrieving his lost love as you experience the islands of Classical mythology. Mykonos iconic round windmills were once used to mill wheat on the island between the 17 th and 19 th centuries.

Greek Orthodox monasteries are built atop caramel shaded crags in Meteora. Athens, Greece Birthplace of democracy and home to many of history s greatest philosophers and poets from Socrates to Herodotus, Athens is unmatched in its contributions to early Western civilization. Meteora From the attractive port city of Volos, birthplace of legendary Argonaut Jason, travel across the fertile Plain of Thessaly to the seldom visited natural wonder of Meteora Greek for suspended in the air an extraordinary enigma of virtually uncharted Orthodox monasteries. This breathtaking UNESCO World Heritage site was constructed in the 14 th and 15 th centuries a staggering 1300 feet above the valley floor, atop soaring natural sandstone pillars, where the early Christian traditions of these monasteries have continued uninterrupted for hundreds of years. Visit one of the four active monasteries, originally accessed by way of long ladders and baskets suspended on ropes, but today accessible by travel on a modern road overlooking verdant Peneas Valley with impossibly majestic sights. Delos The mythical birthplace of Apollo and Artemis, Delos is today a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is considered to be one of the most sacred islands in the Greek world, as central to Grecian spiritual life as Olympia and Delphi. Almost completely intact, the fourth century B.C. theatre at Epidaurus is world renowned for its near-perfect acoustics. Walk along the Sacred Way to the Sanctuary of Apollo, a spectacularly rich archaeological site with remains of three separate temples from the fifth and sixth centuries B.C. Delos awe inspiring ruins also showcase an entire district of Hellenistic and Roman era houses and a 5500 seat theatre (300 B.C.), the site of choral competitions during the Delian panegyris, or ancient quadrennial festival honouring Apollo. See the legendary Terrace of the Lions, dedicated to Apollo, where hand-carved marble statues have guarded the island for nearly 2600 years (the original lions are in the Delos Archaeological Museum). Mykonos According to ancient legend, the craggy hills and clefts of Mykonos were formed from the petrified bodies of giants defeated by Hercules. Mykonos iconic windmills, bright white, cube shaped houses and azure bays epitomize the striking beauty of the Greek Isles. Enjoy an afternoon at leisure to explore Mykonos quaint, narrow streets lined with whitewashed houses and boutiques or to sip ouzo harbourside in Mykonos s Little Venice. Pátmos The small island of Pátmos and its Greek Orthodox Monastery of St. John, St. John the Apostle is believed to have written the Book of Revelation in the Cave of the Apocalypse on Pátmos.

Join the excursion to the ancient village of Lindos. See the magnificent frescoes adorning the Byzantine style Church of Panagia and ascend the stone stairs to the clifftop acropolis for breathtaking views of the medieval Castle of the Knights of St. John. Or, enjoy a morning at leisure in Lindos to further explore its rich history and charming streets. Santorini for Akrotiri Be on deck as the ship cruises into the captivating harbour at Santorini, a natural caldera, beneath which is believed by some to be the legendary lost city of Atlantis. A cable car descends to sea level from the elevated town of Fira, where stunning white walled buildings stand in stark contrast against the dark volcanic cliffs. PHYSICAL ACCESSIBILITY: All programs require physical independence and mobility. Travellers must be able to embark or disembark motorcoaches alone or with minimal assistance from your travelling companion and climb stairs and step over raised thresholds without assistance. Travellers requiring assistance must travel with a companion who will be responsible for handling equipment. DISCOUNTED RESERVATIONS: Discounts apply only to those reservations received in the offices of Gohagan in writing, accompanied by the required deposit, by February 28, 2018. In the event a discounted reservation must be cancelled, no replacement reservation can be substituted at the discounted rate. Should you have to cancel, the following terms will apply: reservation cancellation(s) are subject to a $200 usd ($50 usd Pre/Post Program(s)) per person administrative fee from the time of booking through 120 days prior to departure; from 95 through 119 days prior to departure, $600 usd ($200 usd Pre/Post Program(s)) per person; from 60 through 94 days prior to departure, 50% of the published full regular tariffs; cancellations 59 days or less prior to departure, a no-show, or early return from the trip will result in forfeiture of 100% of the published full regular tariffs. In addition, any applicable airline cancellation fees, optional excursion cancellation fees and administrative fees may apply. TRIP INSURANCE: We strongly recommend that you purchase trip cancellation insurance. In the event that you must cancel your participation in a travel program, trip cancellation insurance may be the only source of reimbursement. BINDING ARBITRATION: Any dispute concerning, relating or referring to this Agreement, the brochure or any other literature concerning the trip, or the trip itself, shall be resolved exclusively by binding arbitration pursuant to the Federal Arbitration Act, 9 U.S.C. Sections 1 16, either according to the then existing Commercial Rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA) or pursuant to the Comprehensive Arbitration Rules & Procedures of the Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Services, Inc. ( JAMS). Such proceedings will be governed by substantive (but not procedural) Illinois law and will take place in Chicago, IL. The arbitrator and not any federal, state, or local court or agency shall have exclusive authority to resolve any dispute relating to the interpretation, applicability, enforceability, conscionability, or formation of this contract, including but not limited to any claim that all or any part of this contract is void or voidable. Please understand that by agreeing to these terms and conditions, the participant and Gohagan are waiving the right to a trial by jury.
