Commercial Burglaries: Date/Time Address (block range) Method of Entry Description/Suspect Information From: 07/07/2015 6:00pm To: 07/08/2015 9:00am 07/10/2015 2:39am 22000 W Eight Mile Rd. (Commercial Carpet Wholesale) 18000 W Ten Mile Rd. (Commercial-Beauty Mart) Unlocked front door. Front door was pried open. Victim states that he forgot to lock the front door of the business. Victim states that a customer called him at 6:30pm and left a message stating that the business door was unlocked and all the lights were off. When he returned the next day a laptop was missing. Officers responded to Alarm at business. Officers discovered the store had been broken into. The front door had been pried open and there was a pack of hair on the ground outside the door. The owner arrived on scene and reviewed the surveillance video. Four unknown males were observed entering the business and load a large bag full of hair packs. All four males fled the scene. Home Invasion: Date/Time Address (block range) Method of Entry Description/Suspect Information From: 07/06/2015 4:30pm To: 07/06/2015 5:00pm 24000 Green Valley St. Victim was scammed into going into her back yard to look for a cat. While in the backyard with one of the suspects a second suspect went into victim s residence and stole items. Victim stated that she was out working in her front yard shortly after 4:30pm. Victim was approached by a white female along with a small child. The female stated that they were looking for a lost cat and that they recently had moved into a home just up the street. Female used the ruse about the lost cat to get victim to go into her back yard to look for the cat. A short time later after female left victim discovered that someone had entered her residence and stolen several articles of jewelry. Victim described the female as late 20's to early 30's, approximately 5'-4'' to 5'-5'' and weighed 130-140 lbs. The female identified herself by the name Lisa. She had shoulder length straight black hair with a darker than normal complexion. Victim believes she may be Hispanic. Victim stated that the female had an 8-9 year old boy with her. He also had a dark complexion with short black hair. Victim believed he was wearing tan shorts. The child was introduced as Josh.
From: 07/07/2015 6:00pm To: 07/08/2015 7:50pm 22000 La Seine St (Apartments) No Forced entry. Victim states that he went out of town and returned the following day. After returning home he discovered several items of clothing were missing from his apartment. There were no signs of forced entry. Victim questioned his daughter who was home during the time span that incident occurred. The daughter stated she was home the whole time and didn t have any visitors. Victim also advised he lost his keys a couple weeks ago. From: 07/06/2015 7:30am To: 07/07/2015 7:30am From: 07/12/2015 4:45pm To: 07/12/2015 9:15pm 28000 Marshall St. Patio Screen to rear of residence was cut. 30000 Balewood St. Garage door was opened. Victim states she last observed her rear screen window in normal condition on 07/06/15 at approx. 7:30am. On 07/07/15 at approx. 7:30am, victim states she returned home and discovered her rear screen window to her back enclosed patio partially cut and hanging over. Victim states there was no other damage around the home and entry was not made. Cut on screen was cleanly done around the edges with some type of knife or razor. Victim advises sometime between 4:45pm- 9:15pm someone opened up his garage door and then poured paint all over the outside and inside of victims 2015 Lincoln MKZ. Victims Jeep was parked in his carport between 07/07/2015 @ 5:15pm and the following day at 5:00pm. Unknown suspect broke left rear window out and attempted to take vehicle by removing the ignition. Attempt only.

Status R Recovered Stolen Manufacturer NISSAN Model ALTIMA Color Vehicle Year 2014 Body Style State MI Description Stolen Vehicle Officer observed vehicle traveling W/B on 8 Mile at Southfield Rd. Officer ran the plate on vehicle which came back as a Fail To Return Stolen Vehicle out of a neighboring jurisdiction on a 2014 Nissan Altima. Officer followed the vehicle to a business on 8 Mile Rd. As the vehicle began to exit the business parking lot Officer s blocked the vehicle in and stopped the vehicle. Officers made contact with driver and discovered that his girlfriend had rented the vehicle for him to drive. Unknown why she was late returning the vehicle to rental agency. The vehicle was impounded and the driver was issued for DWLS.

(Car Rental) Status S - Stolen Manufacturer Ford Model Box Color WHI - White Vehicle Year Body Style VN - Van or Panel State OK Description 26ft Box Moving Truck Notes White, Blue and Orange. Representative from vehicle rental states on 4-1-2015 subject rented the moving truck. It was to be returned on 04/30/2015. Many calls have been made to lessee and messages have been left for him to return the truck. A demand letter was sent by the home office on 6-25-2015. Suspect has been identified and incident is under investigation.

When victim contacted his brother to bring vehicle back he refused stating he was going on a date with his girlfriend. Suspect has been identified and incident is under investigation. From: 07/08/2015 10:00pm To: 07/09/2015 6:45am 16000 North Park Dr. (Apartments) Status S - Stolen Manufacturer FORD Model MUSTANG Color BLU - Blue Vehicle Year 2005 Body Style State MI License Year Description 05 MUSTANG Victim states his 2005 Ford Mustang was stolen sometime between 10:00pm and the following morning at 6:45am. The vehicle was parked at victim s apartment complex. (Commercial-Physical Therapy) Status S Stolen License Plate: Catalytic Converter was taken from 2008 Honda Element. Victim came into the front desk to report that his License Plate was stolen from his vehicle. Incident occurred sometime over the night between 11:30pm- 10:00am. Unknown what type of vehicle the License Plate was on. Victim advises sometime between 9:00am and 1:53pm someone cut the catalytic converter from the exhaust system. 07/08/2015 8:52am 26000 Telegraph Rd. (Commercial- Office) Catalytic Converter was taken from Honda Element. Witness observed a suspicious black male standing by the driver side door of attacked vehicle. Witness heard what sounded like a sawing noise coming from the same area just before he observed the black male standing by the vehicle. As he started to approach the subject on foot, the subject entered a Tan Colored Older Model Chrysler Sebring which was parked next to the attacked vehicle, driver s side. The subject and vehicle then drove off south in the lot and onto north bound Telegraph. Inspection of the attacked vehicle revealed that the catalytic converter was taken.

Victim states sometime between 11:20pm and the following morning at 8:20am someone stole All Four Wheels & Tires from his 2013 Dodge Dart. The vehicle was parked at victims apartment complex on Lahser Rd. Victim advises that sometime between 10:45pm and the following morning at 10:00am someone broke out the right rear window, removed the wheel lock from the glove box and stole all four rims and tires from her vehicle leaving the vehicle on bricks. Victim stated he delivers Pizza. He made a delivery to an apartment complex in Southfield. Victim was speaking on his cell phone with the person making the order when he stopped in front of customer s apartment. Victim put his phone on the seat of his vehicle and delivered the pizza to customer. Victim returned to his vehicle about 2-3 minutes later and his phone was gone.
07/12/2015 6:42am 26000 American Dr. (Hotel) Radio was taken from 2009 Lincoln MKX. Tips: Ensure your vehicle is locked at all times and valuables are out of sight. Thieves wait for the right time and will move quickly Even if playing sports at a park ensure your vehicle is locked Victim advises sometime between 10:00pm and the following morning at 6:50am someone broke out a window on vehicle and stole In-Dash Radio. The vehicle was parked at Hotel on the west side of the building south of the main entrance.

Both victims stated they were in the park when an unknown black male wearing a black hoodie, black jeans and white shoes approached them holding a big silver revolver. The suspect announced a robbery. Both victims handed over their belongings. The suspect then ran off. 07/07/2015 4:20pm 25000 Shiawassee Rd. (Apartments) 2- Cell Phones, Wallet, and Glasses were taken. Victims stated they drove into the Apartment Complex to pick up some friends for a basketball game. When they entered the complex one of the victims saw a subject (suspect) known to one of the victims. He got into victims car and they all went to the gas station to get some food & drink. They returned to Apartment Complex. Suspect got out of the car, went into one of the apartment buildings and returned a short time later. After reentering the vehicle suspect produced a Black Revolver and robbed both victims of their Cell Phones, Wallet and Glasses. Suspect then fled on foot. 07/09/2015 6:45pm W Eight Mile Rd. & Evergreen Rd. Craig s List Scam. Cash was taken and then recovered by victim. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Citizens that buy or sell anything on Craig s List should complete transaction at a safe location like a Police Station. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> The victim responded to an advertisement on Craig s List to purchase a mini bike. The victim and the suspect met at 8 Mile & Evergreen to complete the purchase. Two suspects arrived at the location with the mini bike. The victim gave Suspect#1 an undisclosed amount of cash for the bike and asked for a receipt. The suspect wrote out his name on the receipt and then started to flee with the money and the mini bike. The other suspect started to pull away in the suspect vehicle and the victim was able to enter the vehicle and take the keys from the vehicle. Suspect #1 produced a handgun and threatened to shoot the victim. The victim advised the suspect that he would swallow the car keys if he failed to return his money. The suspect returned the money to victim and left the scene in the suspect vehicle. 07/09/2015 10:30pm Lahser Rd. Between 9 Mile & 10 Mile Rd. Victims backpack containing ThinkPad was taken. Victim stated he left his residence to go for a walk around 10:15pm to "blow off steam". Victim walked w/b on 10 Mile to Lahser then s/b on Lahser for approximately 1/2 mile when he was confronted by the two unknown B/M s. Both suspects produced handguns and demanded his backpack and anything of value. Victim gave suspects his backpack which contained his computer. Victim returned to his residence and phoned police. Unarmed Robbery: 07/08/2015 12:55pm 27000 Northwestern (Hotel) Attempted to take victim s 2004 Honda Element. Officer was on patrol at Hotel in the 27000 Block of Northwestern Hwy. Officer was flagged down by citizen (victim) who stated a b/m suspect wearing an orange t-shirt had just tried to car jack him and pointed out the suspect walking e/b through the hotel parking lot. Officer radioed for assistance and approached the suspect and directed him to stop. The suspect was verbally belligerent and refused directions. At one point the subject began advancing on Officer. The subject was tased and taken into custody for Attempt Unarmed Robbery. Tips: Always be aware of your surroundings and report suspicious incidents or persons to your local police
Be on the Look Out Highlights: Special Attention: Bank Robbery- Lathrup Village 07/07/2015 (Tuesday) 2:00pm Southfield units were dispatched to the area of Twelve Mile and Fairfax to assist Lathrup PD. There had just been a Bank Robbery in their jurisdiction in the 17000 Block of Twelve Mile Road. Suspect Description: B/M, Skinny, dark complexion with bad teeth. Possible suspect vehicle was a Blue Impala. Special Attention: Fleeing & Eluding 8 Mile Rd. & Southfield Rd. Officer attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation (Silver Jaguar). The car began to flee s/b into Detroit through residential areas. The vehicle began to increase its speeds and the pursuit was terminated. Registered owners to vehicle both have outstanding warrants attached to their names. A check of the registered owners address had negative results. The suspect vehicle was later located parked in front of the registered owner s residence in Detroit. The vehicle was impounded by our Department. The suspect has been identified and incident is under investigation. Retail Fraud 3 rd Degree/ CCW 1- Arrest 07/09/2015 6:25pm 28000 Block of Telegraph Rd (Commercial Retail) Officer responded to business for a Retail Fraud Investigation. Investigation revealed that the suspect while scanning her groceries didn t scan several of the items while putting them into the stores shopping bags with items that were scanned. During an inventory search of suspects personal belongings Officer located a functioning stun gun inside suspect s purse. The suspect was arrested for Retail Fraud 3 rd Degree and CCW.
Special Attention: Church Festival 26000 Block of Northwestern Shortly after the beginning of the event, numerous groups of youth began running in large groups knocking people down and starting fights. All available Southfield Units were dispatched to assist with the large unruly crowd. Numerous youths were jumping over the wall on the perimeter to gain access to the festival site. Several arrests were made of both juveniles and adults. Possession of Heroin/ DWLS 2 nd Offense I- Arrest 07/08/2015 9:20pm W Eight Mile Rd. & Evergreen Rd. Officers stopped vehicle for traffic violation. The driver advised Officers that he didn t have a driver s license. When asked to step out of the vehicle Officers observed driver putting something under the front seat of vehicle. Officer s investigation led to the arrest of driver for DWLS & Possession of Heroin. Officers recovered two needles, a crack pipe & Heroin under the front seat. Special Attention: Fleeing & Eluding I-696 & Greenfield Rd. Officer pursued a 1997 Silver Saturn that failed to stop from Central Park Blvd. and W Eleven Mile Rd. to I-696 and Greenfield Rd. where he lost site of the vehicle and discontinued the pursuit. Officer was able to obtain the license plate # on fleeing vehicle. Incident is under investigation. OWI- 1- Arrest E/B 9 Mile Rd. / Greenfield Rd. At Approx. 1:27am, Officer stopped a vehicle for driving without headlights activated. Investigation disclosed the driver was OWI. Driver was arrested, transported to the station, processed and lodged.

Southfield Police Detectives were assigned a case involving an unknown suspect that was contacting Southfield Police Emergency dispatch via two way radio. During the course of this investigation which has been ongoing since October of 2014 the suspect has had numerous contacts with Southfield Dispatch via two way radio. The severity of the interference ranges from simply making key clicks, to reporting unfounded shootings and fires at different locations in Southfield. The suspect identified himself as a Detroit Police Officer on several occasions giving a name and badge number. The suspect on several occasions would click the radio blocking traffic while Southfield Police Officers were responding to priority runs. During the course of this investigation a suspect was developed. On Thursday July 9, 2015 several Southfield Police Detectives executed a Search Warrant at suspect s residence. Several items of evidence including the radio that suspect was using was recovered. The suspect was at the residence and was taken into custody w/o incident. (Suspect was not a Detroit Police Officer) The suspect made admissions and made a complete confession to all False Police Reports, Misuse, and Interfering with Southfield Police Dispatch Communications.
OUIN- 1-Arrest Northwestern & Beck Officers observed a vehicle driving erratically and vehicle disobeyed a red traffic signal. Officers stopped the vehicle and investigated the driver. The driver was arrested for OUIN and possession of marijuana.
